Running back Jordan Howard could represent a nice mid-round value in the 2016 NFL Draft. He’s a workhorse who is a load to bring down, and always keeps his legs churning. His feet, vision, and burst are all above-average for his size.
Indiana’s offensive line was a dominating group that really allowed Howard to get going and wear down defenses over four quarters. Not an elite prospect, our concern Howard will be drafted into a running back by committee which is not ideal because Howard is best with volume. However, if the Indiana prospect lands on a team with a good offensive line who runs a lot of zone, we’ll be more than happy to start Howard in fantasy leagues any week he is slated for a significant workload of at least 15 touches.
vs. Wake Forest 2015
Shows decent feet and vision- has some burst to edge but doesn’t really flash any big play ability. Not a dynamic tackle breaker but def a hammer to the chest / load to to take down.
vs. FIU 2015
Flashes natural hands on screen pass
Shows burst up the middle
Follows his blocks, knows his concepts reads his holes and cuts
Falls forward, good pad level
Not dynamic but will be effective behind a good offensive line, can wear down a defense with volume
vs. Michigan 2015
Effective in ZBS
Physical
Yards after contact
Leg Drive
Feet don’t stop on contact
Workhorse
This is good tape vs good competition- would start him in fantasy w/15-20+ carries behind solid OL
