Dynasty Rankings Update: 5/22/24

Quentin Johnston, Chargers
Age: 23
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank: 215
Updated Rank: 209
I buried Johnston in the rankings after an underwhelming and embarrassing rookie season. I think perhaps that I made the move based more on emotions than his actual potential though, and he deserves a second look. GM Joe Koritz recently attested that Johnston is “really going to launch” in his second season, and while it’s just conjecture from a man who wants to make the most of his investment, Johnston has to go up from where he was. He was 50th of 60 WRs in targets per routes run in 2023, and with both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams on different rosters this season, he’s going to get more looks.

Tank Dell, Texans
Age: 25
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank: 29
Updated Rank: 27
Dell is already back to running routes after the double whammy of breaking his fibula last season and then catching a stray bullet in the leg in April. Stefon Diggs‘ arrival in Houston dimmed Dell’s outlook somewhat, but you can’t keep a good Dell down. He’s going to play in 3-wide sets, and Dell is still arguably sophomore phenom CJ Stroud‘s favorite target. Perhaps Dell can’t get any higher in the rankings than where I’ve put him, but I had to get him to his ceiling on a slow week.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions
Age: 22
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank: 9
Updated Rank: 8
Gibbs has been my top dynasty RB in my heart for some time, and now he’s this close to being there in my mind. Gibbs finished as RB 10 after a slow start to his rookie season, and if his jaw-dropping performance against the 49ers in the playoffs is any indication, Gibbs is only going to get more productive. Set to get an increased workload in 2024, according to Lions GM Brad Holmes, Gibbs is surely going to leapfrog David Montgomery in touches this season.
