Fantasy Playoff League Deals and Sleepers – Championship Weekend – Daily Fantasy Sports
Daily Deals: Championship Week
Dorian “The Trashman” Colbert, Rosterwatch.com
As the teams still in contention dwindle down to the last four, there are fewer players that are available at a low price. Still, there are deals to be had, and we’ve recognized them for you.
Tom Brady QB, New England Patriots: I’m not willing to take a gamble on Colin Kaepernick or Russell Wilson this weekend. Their respective defenses are too good, as are their running games. I don’t really see the upside. It’s true that Brady didn’t score any of New England’s six TDs last week, but he will have plenty of opportunities against the Broncos on the road in a game that projects to be high scoring.
Stevan Ridley RB, New England Patriots: LaGarrette Blount is all the rage with his performance against the Colts on Sunday night, but Ridley didn’t look too bad himself. He scored every touchdown that Blount didn’t. His smaller build might work to his advantage in Denver weather that is sure to entice Blount to want to hibernate. It will also be harder to get breath into those big lungs. I like Ridley’s potential this week more than I have in a long time.
Frank Gore RB, San Francisco 49ers: If the 49ers know what’s good for them, and I think they do, they’ll keep the ball out of the air in Seattle. Gore actually had his second best game, yards wise, against Seattle just a few weeks ago. San Fran won that contest so it only makes sense that they continue rolling with a proven formula.
Anquan Boldin WR, San Francisco 49ers: I know I just finished talking about the 49ers keeping the ball on the ground if they want to win, but I so realize that if anyone is going to have success against Seattle’s formidable secondary, it’s a hoss like Boldin. He’s the kind of physical receiver that can battle for position and muscle his way to pay dirt. He’s also seeing a ton of targets since Crabtree has reentered the mix, and we know from recent experience that the big games down the stretch are where Boldin has shined.
Danny Amendola WR, New England Patriots: There’s nothing that Tom Brady would love to do more than beat Manning and Welker with his new slot receiver. The Patriots will use the intermediate passing game like the run in an effort to help slow things down against the Broncos. Amendola is as healthy as he’s been all season, which isn’t saying that much, but I’ll take it.
Vernon Davis TE, San Francisco 49ers: Tight end is the only position I wouldn’t skimp on this week. The falloff after Davis and Thomas is like stepping into the Grand Canyon. Of the two, I like Davis the most just because he’ll have a better chance at a TD. Kaepernick looks for him in the end zone more than any other player, where Thomas is one of Manning’s many scoring options.
