Garbage Grab: Week 12

Trashman

Hey friends, I hope you took my word for it in Week 11 and started Bobby Rainey. When it rains it pours I guess. This week, I have another set of potential studs to be had on the cheap, and they’re begging to be placed in lineups. Do yourself a solid, and try me again in week 12.

Mike Glennon QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  One of my biggest pet peeves is not being able to take my own advice. Often times I’n not able to play my garbage grab picks because there just isn’t room on my already trashy teams. This is not one of those cases. I am confidently starting Glennon, who has consistently put up respectable numbers this season yet is owned in only 19% of leagues, as my QB in one of my leagues. Detroit has been the most generous defense to QB’s over the past several weeks, so I like his chances to put around 20 points against them.

Rod Streater WR, Oakland Raiders: If the Raiders weren’t playing Tennessee, I’d love Streater even more this week, but even with that going against him, I can’t deny the connection that Matt McGloin and he have built thus far. The fact that Denarius Moore is sitting out this game only improves his prospects that much more. As the number one receiving option for the Raiders right now, Streater is going to see the targets, and he’s going to put up a solid score for you.

Aldrick Robinson WR, Washington Redskins: I was bummed when one of my trashy treasures of last week’s Grab, Leonard Hankerson, tore his ACL. Well one man’s injury is another man’s opportunity, and Robinson has his window. Josh Morgan is set to start opposite Pierre Garcon in Hankerson’s stead, but it’s Robinson who I like to have the bigger game. In games this year in which he’s had two catches, he’s gained at least 60 yards, which let’s you know he’s a big play type of guy.

Jeff Cumberland TE, New York Jets: Kellen Winslow is back in action, but I still like Cumberland as the go-to TE for New York. The tight end position is one of the few spots that the Ravens, the Jets’ opponent this week, are not stifling these days, and I expect Geno Smith to have to resort to dump-offs and short plays for much of the game. Cumberland is also the Jets’ primary red-zone target in the passing game.

Ladarius Green TE, San Diego Chargers: You can’t help but notice Green’s talent when he’s on the field, and the Chargers coaches are finally going to do something about it. Look for them to find creative ways of getting him the ball against the Chiefs this week. Kansas City is the toughest team to use tight ends against, but i don’t really consider Green to be a tight end. He just happens to line up at that position.

Chris Ogbonnaya RB, Cleveland Browns: Ogbonnaya has flirted with relevance for much of the season, but he hasn’t really gotten the bulk of Browns carries until last week. A dual threat in the run and passing game, Oggie has a plus matchup with the Steelers this week and now is the time to get him into your lineups. Willis McGahee has worn out his welcome.

Ace Sanders WR, Jacksonville Jaguars: You have to love the odds of a guy named Ace to do well for your fantasy team. Sanders has begun to step up his play out of sheer necessity, as the Jags’ receiving corps has been decimated by injury. He had a nice 8 catch, 60 yards game last week, and though Houston plays decent pass defense, these conference games have been shootouts as of recent.

Brandon Jacobs RB, New York Giants: The tiptoe burglar makes another appearance in the Grab. Jacobs won’t get a ton of carries agains the Cowboys, but he stands a good chance of getting the ones that really count. Look for him to be in the game in goal line situations, and be prepared for him to score, as the Cowboys run defense is arguably the worst in the league.
