Garbage Grab Week 6: Bye Week Waiver Adds

Garbage Grab Week 6: Bye week waiver adds

Bye weeks are in full force now, and you need to win in spite of this. Consider these players when you’re dumpster diving for replacement players

Jason Avant WR Eagles: Avant had nine catches for almost 140 yds last week in a tough loss to the Bills. He also had two costly fumbles. Fortunately, with TE Brent Celek blocking on many passing downs, Avant fills the void left in the slot. Look for him to continue to be productive this week.

Donald Brown RB Colts: Brown led the team in rushing last week against the Chiefs, albeit with 38 yds. I still like his chances more than Delone Carter’s this week. He’s been somewhat of a bust since he’s joined the Colts, but perhaps he will show us all why he was drafted in the first round two years ago.

Delanie Walker TE 49ers: With WR Josh Morgan hurt, and Braylon Edwards still out, look for Walker to get a considerable number of targets on San Fran’s tight end friendly offense. This may be your last chance to get some use out of him before Edwards returns.

Joel Dreessen TE Texans: We missed on Dreessen last week, when we said that TE/RB James Casey would be the beneficiary of Andre Johnson being out. Hopefully you can catch lightning in a bottle again this week, as the Texans play the stingy Ravens Defense. I expect Schaub to keep things short and sweet to his capable tight ends all day.

Naaman Roosevelt WR Bills: Who? Right. This is the guy replacing WR Donald Jones in the lineup. I don’t like like David Nelson that much, and I think this kid is going to get his looks in the pass happy Chan Gailey Offense.

Kregg Lumpkin RB Buccaneers: The obvious choice in replacing Blount is Earnest Graham. The Trashman doesn’t like it when things come too easy though. Lumpkin will get action as the third down back for Tampa Bay. If he proves himself, he could see a lot more action as Blount looks to be out for several weeks.

  1. Couple more I like:

James Jones WR GB: Has been getting more action that Jordy Nelson recently and has a great matchup vs STL.

Danario Alexander WR STL: Rams are coming off the bye and GB has given up a ton of points to WRs this season.

  2. yo colin thx for the comment- i have liked alexander, but we’ll have to kinda wait and see.
the rams schedule eases up quite a bit after week 8 and he could be a good add. I’m high on Pettis the most of all of them, especially in PPR.
