Knowshon Moreno Looks Fat at Dolphins OTAs

Coming off a career-season in Denver that was stopped just short of a Super Bowl win by the Seattle Seahawks, former Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno was quickly shipped off to Miami, where Dolphins fans and fantasy owners surely hope Moreno’s mid-to-late-career renaissance of sorts will continue.

However, according to Armando Salguero, Moreno looks like he has some work to do in order to get there.

On top of all our worries about Moreno in Miami, now there is this. In fairness to Moreno, it was around this time last offseason that the Twitter-verse exploded with blazing-hot sports takes from amateurs everywhere regarding OTA photos portraying Packers RB Eddie Lacy as an unbelievable fat ass.

… And fans saw how that went. Lacy burst on the scene as a major lynchpin of Green Bay’s prolific offense and has not looked back while cementing his status as a Top 5 option in dynasty drafts heading into 2014.

The issue with Moreno looking tubby in Miami does not speak well for his preparation and readiness to emerge from what seems to be a platoon involving Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas and possibly even Mike Gillislee or Damien Williams – a real favorite of the Trashman.

As far as we’re concerned at RosterWatch, we’ll let someone else worry about Knowshon’s belly flab. We’ve said since jump street that Dolphins HC Joe Philbin is committed to a committee. Anyone expecting similar numbers to 2013 out of Moreno (even if he came into camp having magically grown to Adrian Peterson’s size) are fooling themselves and will chase the dragon all the way to fantasy defeat in 2014. It’s time to let Knowshon Moreno start slowly drifting off your draft board as a fantasy player, regardless of any reports about love handles, man-FUPAs or jelly rolls.
