Lions QB Matt Stafford, one of the most undisciplined and sloppy players in football, has told Justin Rogers of MLive.com that he’s not interested in the services of a private QB coach like Steve Clarkson or others.

“Probably not,” Stafford said. “It’s not something that I feel would be my style or beneficial to me.”

And here we have the problem. Stafford, a player who would be below-average if not blessed with the presence of a certain robot-alien named Megatron, has a sense of entitlement and a real North-Dallas rich kid attitude.

Not beneficial to his style? Which part? When he slings the football underhanded to Joique Bell like an officemate tossing another a hot pocket? When he just side-arms the thing out of bounds when given plenty of time?

The Mannings work with private QB coaches. Tony Romo, Tom Brady, Alex Smith, Phillip Rivers, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Ben Roethlisberger – the list literally goes on and on – they all do. Everyone does. IT’S YOUR JOB.

Except Stafford. Too-Cool-For-School Stafford. And with a ringleader like Coach Gym Shorts, what can you really expect? That’s just the culture around there, for now, it appears. Lions fans would certainly like to think that a lot of that may be changing soon.

But for now, Stafford’s not getting any help and his regression seems likely to continue in the near-term, at least.

  1. Stafford has let me down on more than one week this season. On another note, no Week 17 tools?

    1. Sorry about the Week 17 tools- most leagues are finished- and with so many swindley Week 17 variables (players being sat – teams out of it, etc) – it undermines the integrity of the tools.

At this point we just use our cumulative knowledge on the season. Ask us if you have questions. Best of luck.

  2. I’m kinda lost with out the week 17 tools! I’m in a total points league for championship, I’m up by 23 pts though

  3. I’m playing Stafford this week! Do or die over Dalton, btw love the site n info!!

    1. We like the Stafford play. He’s a more reliable option and we like the matchup.

Really appreciate the kind words, as well as you being a part of the RW community. See above my response on the WK 17 tools!

Also, this is the time of year we turn our attention to scouting rookies months before other fantasy outlets. We will be attending the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine as usual in the next 6 weeks.

This is how we are able to get you sick on players like Andre Ellington, Cordarrelle Patterson, Eddie Lacy, and Kirk Cousins months in advance!

      Best of luck!

  4. Appreciate the feed back! Thanx for the great tools that helped me win a championship!
