40-time: 4.58
Drafted: 7th Round
The Trashman’s Scouting Notes:
Cox wasn’t invited to the Combine, but he did well at his Pro Day with a 4.58 forty and 38 inch vertical jump. Apparently, it was impressive enough to make him the next to last pick of the draft. Cox is a power-running back who can break tackles and stay on his feet, but he had only 19 carries prior to 2012, so we haven’t seen a full body of work. He did gain 710 yds and 5 touchdowns on 198 carries his last year at UMass, so that’s a promising start.

The Trashman’s Fantasy Outlook :
Cox will provide offseason depth behind Andre Brown, who is a very similar player. Brown is somewhat injury-prone though, so in the circumstance that Cox lasts on the roster through opening day, he may see carries at some point as short yardage back behind David Wilson. He’s not worth drafting in any league thus far, but Cox is someone to keep an eye on.
