PRO: RosterWatch Week 13 Matchup Tool

alex bylineWelcome back. This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Panthers QB Cam Newton, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look at the Panthers’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. QBs” cell for the Panthers’ OPPONENT.

(Newton is a QB and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Panthers are playing the Saints, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. QBs” cell. This is a great indicator for Newton in Week 13.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and sit in season-long leagues and which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

COLOR-CODES
(you like blue matchups best)

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics from 2015, but also weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive unit scouting grades for members of the 2015 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question.

  1. Need some help for my last PPR regular season match up. Win and I clinch playoff birth. Need 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE and Flex (can play TE). (Who sits, Reed, Baridge, and Dez?)

    RB
    GIO
    Freeman
    Draughn

    WR
    Dez
    Amendola
    M. Bryant

    TE
    Reed
    Chandler
    Barnidge

    1. yeah, i think you have it spot on, unless amendola has a setback.

  2. Upper Bracket of the playoffs, Wildcard weekend for me PPr league: Please pick 2, John Brown, Gio, Forte, or Desean Jackson? Thanks I have used your help all year!

  3. You guys are the best! I’m in line for a first week bye in the playoffs. Which QB should I pick up as a back up to Tannehill for the playoff run…Hoyer, Fitzmagic, Tyrod Taylor or Kirk Cousins (Eagles in week 16)? Thanks!

  4. TrashMan, I need a couple of waiver wire nuggets in weeks 14-16. You know…..maybe a matchup to exploit for playoff week, that I can get right now. I picked up Winston, because he plays the Saints in week 14. Anything else you see? A defense or kicker, or anything. You have to be proactive, and ahead of your competition. Any help would be appreciated.

  5. Huge week, i win im in the playoffs, should I start Carr, Wilson or pick up Cutler?

  6. Ok rankings are out..I have bortels as my starter. Cutler is available should I pick up cutler and sit bortles? My only concern is Bears getting ahead and running vs SF. When there is more of a chance of Jags vs Titans being a fight.

  7. Going to make playoffs in all four of my season long leagues with my RW teams! Thanks a ton from a long time RW member! Need advice in my big money keeper league for playoff prep…

About to face a team that regardless of the outcome this week, I will be facing again in the first round playoffs (weeks 14 and 15). So essentially I’ll be facing him the next three weeks so considering he owns guys like OBJ and L. Miller should I pick up guys like Eli or Ajayi strategically? What moves should I make to make this team more playoff ready?

    1. EDIT: Wheaton and Parker aren’t available anymore… hopefully you guys see this post in time before tomorrow!

      1. i think you stay put if no parker. i’d add eli though.

  8. 12 team standard 11-1 thanks to you guys. Qb question Rogers or cutler also rb rawls or Stewart thanks for all your help

  9. Standard league RB pick 2, Mark Ingram, Jeremy Hill, and CJ Anderson. Thanks for the help.

  10. Started season 6-1 and have lost the last 5 weeks. Continuously going up against guys that go off every week. I lead my team in scoring and points scored against.

Need help setting this week’s line up. Win and I am in the playoffs. Format is 1, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 (RB/WR). I have my thoughts in the first two slots…

    QB Palmer, River
RB CJ Anderson, Buck Allen, Chris Ivory, Lat Murray
WR Julio, Jarvis Landry, Dez Bryant, Lafell, Devante Parker
    Flex Ivory, Lafell, Dez

Really torn on who to use in the flex. Do you agree with my choices and who would you start in the flex?

    1. PPR format

  11. 10 team PPR. I’ve got McFadden, D. Will, Hopkins and Marshall in the main spots. For the flex, who would you go with out of David Johnson, Charcandrick West or D. Jax? Also had Cobb available, but just couldn’t get myself to use him on Thursday night. Thinking RBs > Cobb because they should get more touches than Cobb. Was I wrong not to play Cobb tonight?

  12. Thoughts on D/ST this week. I have ARI, KC or CHI. I see that you have ARI #2, but STL torched ARI the first time they played and gave ARI their first loss of the season. Leaning toward CHI vs. SF, but gut says go with the squad you have used most of the season….ARI.

  13. Guys, I’m trying to solidify my weak WR core and am interested in picking up D. Parker, but am perplexed who I should drop if any. Would you choose Parker over Diggs, D. Jackson, Lafell, Funchess, or Aiken? Parker has a great schedule compared to others. Thx

    1. funchess, he’s not very consistent.

      1. thx – I’ll go with Parker

  14. 1st week of our playoffs 12 tm ppr flex ? V Mc Donald Funchess (opponent has cam) or do I trust Diggs? Thank you
