PRO: RosterWatch Week 14 Matchup Tool
Welcome back. This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.
It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
…
INSTRUCTIONS:
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you own Bucs QB Jameis Winston, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First, look at the Bucs’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. QBs” cell for the Bucs’ OPPONENT.
(Jameis is a QB and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)
As you will see, the Bucs are playing the Saints, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. QBs” cell. This is a great indicator for Famous Jameis in Week 14.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and sit in season-long leagues and which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.
“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.
COLOR-CODES
(you like blue matchups best)
BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics from 2015, but also weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive unit scouting grades for members of the 2015 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question.

A bit confused by this… using your example… the Saints are #1 against QBs… since they have a big #1… but that’s wrong… so really the #1 means they are the worst…
I’m just a member here but wanted to clarify this point. The reference Alex is using with the statement: “1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.
is from the perspective of the team playing that team with the scores.
If you are playing QB Winston this week, look at his opponent, the New Orleans Saints, and you will see “1” (with blue background color). This means Tampa Bay’s QB position has the easiest matchup of all 32 teams for that position.
I hope this helps.
It means the Saints are the #1 matchup for the opposing team’s QB

Semis for the playoffs and looking for help! Would you go Palmer or Fitzpatrick? And please pick 1 PPR Gio, John Brown, Desean Jackson, or Legarrette Blount? Thanks used your help and I’m in top bracket for all 3 leagues!
Nice work Bach! i’d go palmer and brown.
need 2rbs, 3wrs, 1 flex (1ppr)….I have J.Allen, Woodhead, Riddick, Blount as my RBS……Cooper, Watkins, John Brown, Hartline & Crowder….my thought was to start Allen and Riddick at my RBs with John Brown, Watkins and Hartline as my WRS (only because according to the matchup sheet, cooper faces the #32 in Denver) and Blount as my flex?
Also available on the wire is Crowell, Morris, Juwan Thompson and Kerwynn Williams. Do I replace any of my RBS say with Crowell (seeing as he has #30 according to the sheet)?
Your thoughts
i would go allen, riddick, watkins, brown, hartline but i might go cooper if benjamin plays, and blount. I would plaay thompson in the flex if hillman d and anderson can’t go.
my TE’s are Barnidge and Walker and usually one of them is my flex,
My WR’s are:
Evans
Megatron
D.Parker
Hurns
Floyd
Should i stick with the 2 TE flex, or do i go 4 Wr, if so which 4? Also my RB’s are L. Murray and Hill, given the matchup with Murray, i just picked up R.Matthews, do i roll the dice on Matthews instead?
*PPR format btw*
thanks in advance guys
Play Walker at TE. At flex, we’d consider bailing on Barnidge this week for all those WRs. Think your tough decision will be between Hurns and Floyd. Floyd is the safer play in our opinion- Hurns may have a bit more upside.
Prob gotta stick w/ Murray over Mathews
RW Team,
I need your help this week if you have a few minutes to spare for one of your PRO users 🙂
RB Question: Ingram going down left a big hole in my heart and on my roster going into the playoffs. That dude has been so consistent all year! I need 2 RBs and my options are TJ Yeldon, Gore, Ivory, Woodhead, and Hightower (picked up today). I am thinking of going with Yeldon and Gore. I don’t have much trust in Ivory and Woodhead. What are your thoughts?
WR/Flex Question: I was planning to start Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson and Martavis Bryant in the 2 WR and 1 Flex spots. But, Calvin has a tough matchup against STL. I have John Brown on my roster and really considering starting Brown over Calvin, mainly because MIN secondary is in shambles and Brown could benefit. Am I crazy for starting Brown over Megatron?
Thanks in advanced for your help guys! Between the content on your site and the Saturday shows on SXM, RW has been a tremendous help to me in seasonal and DFS this year. Keep up the great work!
I should have included this in my original post – 12-team, 1pt PPR.
We think you have the RBs correct. Ivory will likely be ranked higher in standard leagues- but we understand your concern. Gore is a safe bet to get the touches.
No you are not crazy for that- we have some concerns about Mega this week, too. Feel pretty good about John Brown tonight. We are fine with that move in a standard league- ppr it is closer as Brown doesn’t get the targets Mega gets. However, Brown prob has a higher floor this week and pretty good ceiling. Just have to know any time you bench Calvin you run the risk of leaving a monster on the bench.

sup guys! Pro user here, love the show, especially the robot genius, always a golden segment!
half-point ppr, need 3 out of 6:
Freeman, Yeldon, Hillman, Lacy, C. West, S. Ware
thanks!
Freeman, Yeldon, West/Ware (prob lean West in PPR)- check our rankings over the weekend for that one
Need some help with a few leagues. Thanks for helping me make 5 of 7 playoffs. Hope to win one league. All are ppr.
Pick one – Gore, Buck Allen, Amare Cooper, Wheaton, T. Lockett
One sits, who is it? – M. Bryant, B. Cooks, Maclin, Buck Allen
Tyrod Taylor or Ryan Fitz?
-Gore
-Buck
-Very close on the QBs- won’t be surprised if our aggregate rankings has Tyrod above Fitz come this weekend- but I’m going to recommend Fitzpatrick. I think he’s safer this week, with similar upside.
Good luck,
Byron
Morning,
I’ve made the playoffs which starts this week. MY RBS currently are Woodhead, Blount, Bolden, J.Allen and Riddick. K.Thompson (DEN), Taylor, S (ARI), K.Williams (ari) & Crowell are available on waiver wire. Would I be crazy for picking up and plugging in Crowell (CLE) as maybe a flex? Right now I’m torn between blount/cooper at the flex spot but I noticed (according to the “matchup sheet”) that crowell is facing the #30 rank team vs run.
Your thoughts?
Thanks
We see your point with the matchup for Crowell. It is enticing. However, we cannot recommend Crowell in the fantasy playoffs.
First round of playoffs. PPR. Blount or Sims?
I like Sims in a 1pt ppr.
Last week of regular season and need a win to make playoffs. Palmer or Dalton? Thx
i would rely on palmer’s consistency. Vikings def is missing some key players.
Thx
Big Ben or Stafford?
I have pretty crappy WR match ups. need to pick 2 out of Cooper, Aiken, or Diggs.
If Eifert is healthy I feel like I have to play him but I have ASJ on the bench with a good match up against the Saints.
Any advice?
Big Ben. yikes those wr matchups are terrible. you have to go with upside there. at least we know aiken and cooper are going to get around 10 targets. I’d go eifert, I’m a big “dance with who brung ya” advocate for the playoffs.
Please help! Pretty worried about my playoff run in my big money league now that I’ve suddenly lost Ingram right after dropping most of my RB depth for QBs… missed out on on Spiller and Hightower to some teams fighting in the consolation bracket so need some advice!
10 Team PPR (8-5; 3rd place)
[1] QB: Eli Manning (Winston, Rivers)
[3] WR: Hopkins, Dez Bryant, Michael Floyd (Diggs, D. Parker)
[2] RB: Gurley, D. Martin
[1] TE: J. Reed
[1] FLEX: J. Hill
Bench total : (5)
[1] IR: Ingram
1. How should I set this lineup!? 1st week of 2 week matchup and facing the likes of Wilson, OBJ, Cobb, Miller, Draughn, & Olsen …
2. Free bench spot so who should I pickup?
3. Any other add/drop advice?
Available:
QB: Ryan, Fitzpatrick, Mariota, Cutler
WR: Lockette, Shorts, Green-Beckham, Funchess, Ginn, K. Wright
RB: Duke Johnson, M. Jones, J. Thompson, Powell, Andrews, Morris, Ajayi, Bell, Abdullah
i’d pick up jones, andrews or thompson if he starts for sure. i think 2 qbs is enough.
Great work last week guys and really all season. So glad i joined and listen to your show as well. Im in the playoffs in all 4 leagues. One league I have bye, the others im really scared with Ingram going down.
Flex position- I have Lativus Murray, John Brown, Hurns,
Wr- i have 2 spots, Julio, B. Marshall and the above.
Rbs- Ivory, Mccoy, Lativius, Ajayi
What would you guys do at Rb? I’m thinking about Mccoy and Ivory. Wr- would you guys bench Julio for Marshall and Brown? And possibly play hurns at flex? Or would you go Julio, Marshall at WR and Brown or Hurns at Flex? Its hard for me to trust Murray against Denver unless you guys recommend him for my situation.
Thanks for everything
FYI 12 team standard above
you’re right on with your rbs. i wouldn’t bench julio at all. his upside is too high. brown gets a slight edge over murray for the flex.
Thanks for all the help guys, one more lineup question. I see in the rankings you have gio fairly high. I need help deciding what TE to start, and one flex guy. In other words, might use two TE’s. 1 pt ppr.
gio, dez, barnidge, reed, chandler. First instinct was start reed and barnidge. who would you start?
Hey RW! Made the playoffs in both leagues, one of which I have a 1st round BYE, so I only need help with one this week. 0.5 PPR, 2 QB league …. QB 5 pts pass TD, 6 pts rush TD, -5 INT. Big bonus for RBs over 100 yards. I just had Ingram go down for the season so I need a bit more help than usual.
QB1 – Eli Manning
QB2 – Blaine Gabbert
RB1 – Darren McFadden
RB2 – Shaun Draughn
WR1 – Julio Jones
WR2 – DeMaryius Thomas
WR3 – Allen Hurns
TE – Greg Olsen
FLEX – DeVante Parker
Bench – Latavius Murray, Tyler Lockett, Travis Kelce, Matt Ryan
I just don’t want to play Matt Ryan this week. On the waiver wire there is also Johnny Manziel & Brock Osweiler. Gabbert has scored 18, 15, and 29 the last 3 weeks and Osweiler has only scored 23, 11, and 6. Gabbert has done is against great defenses too. What adjustments should I make?
Thanks for the great help and tools! Playoffs started this week and I’m the number 2 seed, but my opponent has been on fire lately. It’s a 14 team .5 PPR league. Open to any feedback, but specifically on Flex and TE positions, thanks-
Here’s my lineup:
QB Dalton
WR Julio Jones
WR D Hopkins
RB D Freeman
RB M Forte
FLEX S Draughn or E Decker ? (Leaning toward Draughn)
TE Z Miller (available: C Clay or W Tye)
BENCH
E Sanders
T Coleman
T Riddick
T Ginn Jr
12 team Standard
[1] QB: Bortles (Taylor)
[2] WR: A. Brown, Hopkins (Watkins, Hurns)
[2] RB: Forte, D. Martin (Gore, Draughn)
[1] TE: Olsen
[1] FLEX: J. Allen
On a bye this week and thinking I should pickup Edelman however not sure who to drop?
1 ppr need a flex and wr slot between cooper /Hartline and blount….
Do I start Julio Jones or Anquan Bolden?
Thanks
