PRO: RosterWatch Week 17 Matchup Tool

alex bylineWelcome back. This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Falcons RB Devonta Freeman, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look at the Falcons’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. RBs” cell for the Falcons’ OPPONENT.

(Freeman is an RB and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Falcons are playing the Saints, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. RBs” cell. (In fact, the Saints are the best matchup this week for ALL positions). This is a great indicator for Freeman owners, or those thinking of rostering him in DFS.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and sit in season-long leagues and which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

COLOR-CODES
(you like blue matchups best)

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics from 2015, but also weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive unit scouting grades for members of the 2015 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question.

  1. 16 team ppr dynasty league. I have Bortles as my starting qb and Winston as my back up. My rbs are Le’Veon Bell, Jonas Gray. Robert Turbin and Andre Elington. I was offered Melvin Gordon and his bad knee for J.Winston. Should I accept this deal. We can start up to 3 rbs and I am 2 rbs aways from competing for a playoff spot. I currently hold pick 1.4 in the 2016 rookie draft.
