I’m drafting 5th tonight.
Why should I take Barkley over AB, according to the cheat sheet?
We can’t exactly give away all our secrets here in an open post that isn’t for PROs only, but I can say simply that it’s because we want you to take JuJu later instead with your 4th round pick. There is a method to this but you have to trust us and understand we can’t take the time to explain every little nuance of the sheet out of purposes of time but also because we can’t give away all the magic secrets.
I’ve been drafting using the cheat sheet regularly and this change yesterday threw a wrench in my preparation. This league starts 3 WR, 2RB and NO flex. With this premium being place on WR, would it still make sense to get AB? I have Juju in 70% of my leagues so I won’t be surprised if I draft him again tonight.
Hey guys loving everything so far! Been helping a lot.
Got a new question. Is the cheat sheet good advice for trades as well? Haven’t seen your in season stuff yet so I’m new to this.
For instance I’m thinking about trying to trade
My: A. Brown and K. Drake
for: K. Allen and L. Miller
The way I read the sheet this is better “overall”. Our league trades a lot, and incremental value is how i have always found myself winning more in this league over the years.
hi, there are factors that go into where the players are on the sheet that don’t necessarily have to do with a player being “better” than another, so i wouldn’t necessarily go by it to dictate trades. if this is a ppr league, allen is a little more valuable than otherwise. also, a lot depends on where your team’s strengths lie. if you’re weaker at rb, getting miller might be advantageous, as drake is going to split time with gore in what looks like a true timeshare.
Hey guys-
Drafted my first NFFC team last night, full PPR 1qb 2rb 3wr flex te k d
QB: Cam/Bortles
RB: Hunt/Mccaffrey/Crowell/Hyde/Ivory/Foreman
WR: Thielen/Jones/Sanders/Funchess/Doctson/A. Miller/Parker/Pryor
TE: McDonald/Eifert
Think I’m OK? Love my WR Depth, don’t love the RB depth but I love having 4 starting RBs.
yeah, i like what you have here. in the case that mccoy is has to sit, ivory becomes a valuable trade piece
Great Podcast as always fellas.
As a Mel Gordon owner, I am trying to reconcile Byron’s take of this being a duo backfield with some other information that would suggest similar volume to last year. Mel has been in on 25 of 29 Rivers snaps during the first two preseason games including 4 of 5 first down snaps. In addition, Whisenhunt is projecting a larger receiving volume for Mel coupled with a better OL (Pouncey / Lamp back from injury), I would expect better efficiency and had started to feel pretty sick about MG this year.
Should RW Nation be feeling nervous about MG with the RB duo take you guys had from Chargers camp and where do you expect Ekeler to be sneaking in carries since presumably Gordon will dominate third down work.
Thanks for all you guys do. You guys rock.
Thanks a ton for the support! It is a bit of a dichotomy in terms of reconciling that situation, for sure. In the pod, this was really more a commentary on the cementing of Ekeler as a player in that offense.
We like Melvin Gordon, and have seen his progression at camp the last 3 yr. He’s fine fantasy asset. Just don’t think he’ll ever be a guy that goes for the mega volume like Zeke, or DJ last year talking about 30 touches per game.
Huge help Byron – thanks for the response. Looking forward to another monster year for RW Nation!
Question about the magical, mystical Ultimate Draft Cheatsheet (which is truly that)… when is it okay to reach down for a TE, even if the sheet is telling me to go for a WR or a RB? In mocks I can end up with five RBs and four WRs and it still might point me to another back or wideout. Thanks!
We would’t break the sheet for a TE until very late in the draft, we’d keep collecting flex talent along the way.
I joined a 10 team standard this year. Does the sheet change at all with TD passes being worth 6 points instead of 4?
Not really. Even with the inflated scoring for qbs there is no need to reach for one.
No, because all the QBs are affected in the same way. It being a 10 teamer guarantees there will be value later on
I keep forgetting that the comments are hot now a days. I have been slacking!
Hot rookies like C. Ridley and D.J. Moore seem to be climbing on the ADP (116,119) , yet RW has them both with very high ADP 140+ Are you guys down on these rookies?
The sheet is designed so you don’t reach on players. People are starting to reach on these rookies. ADP is only part of the magic of the cheat sheet
My point is that if you follow the sheet neither of these two rookies will be drafted. Since I am in a keeper league, whats your view of saving the last few rounds (before Def & K) to go after players like Moore or Ridley who may emerge this year, but could really shine in 2019.
i’m not against that strategy in a keeper league. there are other rookie wrs who i feel will be similarly valuable who you can get later like james washington, anthony miller and christian kirk.
You should have way better keepers if you follow the sheet. And like the trashman said Washington, miller, and Kirk are the rookie #rosterwatchnation should go after. Let the others in your league chase the rookies too early. Most rookies are back in the draft pool for their sophomore season. Unless you are in a dynasty type league where you keep 6+. The rookies trashman mentioned have just as good of a chance to breakout as rookies as the ones you mentioned, if not better. Take your chances late in the draft. Would you rather have a rookie keeper or a championship quality team?
Need to cut down my dynasty roster who should I drop?
Payton Barber, Robby Anderson, Maquise Goodwin, Corey Clement, Michael Crabtree, Christian Kirk, Anthony Miller.
Need to cut three from this list
thank you,
Michael
LOL, Jesus. Embarrassing.
If I had to do it, I’d prob cut Crab or Barber depending on the positional balance of my roster. Hate to cut any of those guys preaseason. Try to drop a 2nd QB, TE, or DEF if possible
If they have to be from the list I would have to go with Crabtree, barber, and Anderson. I would first try to trade them. They all should have a solid value. Go get some future picks!
