Hi Guys, have always loved your website as one of the best sources in the business. I get a pro membership during football season.
Are you going to do more training camp reports? I think we’ve only seen one from Cody and one from Byron so far. Those are always the best insights into what is happening, so hope to see more.
Thanks!
Snodawg
Yeah we will have Matty on this weekend, he was in NE for us. Byron has also benn in Miami this week so we’ll hopefully have him on, and Jax/TEN, Cody was in MIN and also ATL. Trashman was supposed to go to HOU this week but they are giving us trouble with credentials this season since we are not on Sirius this summer. So, yes, not as many this year but it shouldn’t be an issue again next year. We didn’t come into August prepared to do all this on our own as far as applications and we missed a few deadlines. A little bit of a learning experience, but we appreciate you sticking with us through it.
I was listening to your podcast where you were running through mock drafts at different positions, with all teams in the 90s rating. I loaded up the latest sheet and ran 3 mock drafts on FPros and scored in the 70s on each. How does fpros score these? Based on the RW sheet or their default rankings. I followed the sheet religiously. What went wrong?
What?! FIRST- you are doing something wrong, so PLEASE just use the cheat sheet as it is when doing your real draft. The rules at the top are very simple. Do NOT use the sheet with any FantasyPros add-ons, etc. when you are drafting your actual team. Just use the sheet and follow the rules.
I know I tried to explain to you how to run sims like I do on shows, but perhaps something got lost in translation. Probably error on my part, TBH. This is not a feature of the tool that we really sell it for, it is an interal testing method only – It is a little complicated and you’re the only person who’s ever asked about this, so maybe it would just be better for me to make a private video when I have time and then share that with you since I don’t think many other people listening to the pod would want to listen through a tutorial of that. But if you were getting 70s using a recent sheet, something was not being done properly.
Incognito, this should help you with the issues you are having, but I’ve made the video on my own personal channel and made it unlisted as I don’t want others seeing into our process so please do not share it.

thanks Alex — big help in understanding and working on simulation. really appreciate the extra mile.
You guys still got Jaydon blue ahead of JCM? Have a rookie draft where I’m picking 12, because I took the ship last year thanks to being a long time roster watch supporter. Let’s get it!
Starting line up is saquan and Aaron jones. Wr I’m deep and filthy with Chase, Nabers, st. Brown, and metcalf. So I’m willing to reach a little on rb.
This is a reality sports platform. Sign for 3 years. Drafted all my wr in previous rookie drafts minus metcalf. Tagged and extended contracts to keep the band together.
I have been a subscriber for 13? years or so since you guys only had a 1 hour show on the weekend on Sirius. I met and fed Byron at my restaurant during his training camp tour some years back. I love the cheat sheet and I am a believer. That being said, I am seriously concerned this year that you guys have overvalued JSN, Kamara, and Montgomery versus their ADP. I have done 6 best balls (3 on DK and 3 on Underdog) and 1 home league redraft so far. I have 5 more home league drafts coming up and I don’t know how many best balls. I have 7 out of 7 on both JSN and Kamara and 6 out of 7 on Montgomery. I picked everything from 3rd to 11th and I am still getting these 3 every time. I don’t want to start bastardizing the cheat sheet but I also don’t want a 95% share of the same 3 guys. Can you sell me on why these 3 are so high versus their ADP? -Barret
That’s good to know, we take all of this into consideration and have not been seeing those same exposures so we appreciate the insight from your actual drafts. Remember that the sheets are designed for home leagues (season-long managed), though, so you can feel free to do a little bastardization of the sheet in best ball if the best ball ADP trends are pushing you to be too overweight on those players. Thanks a bunch for the support and feedback.
Drafting from the 12 spot this year. Half PPR, 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2R/W/T, D. Been doing lots of sims on FantasyPros and I’m averaging a B-. I look at my rosters though and I think they are pretty solid. The sheet is set up right now to where I have to reach down to get TreVeyon Henderson. For example, running a sim right now:
1.12 Derrick Henry
2.01 Amon Ra St. Brown
Top of the sheet:
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Omarion Hampton
TreVeyon Henderson
In this type of scenario, is it safe to take Hampton and Henderson? What if the sheet says to take WRs 1.12 and 2.01?
I’m pissed at the simulator right now it is giving all the best draft B-grades. It is what it is, I care about the rosters I want not what the cockamamie consensus wants. I think you could easily take Hampton and Henderson there, especially with the hopes you could have some luck and land some kind of Sutton/Tet/Pickens-ish combo at the next turn.
