RWi RosterWatch Week 10 Matchup Tool

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.alex byline It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

Wk 10 match
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Falcons WR Julio Jones, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First look at the Falcons’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. QBs” cell for the Falcons’ OPPONENT.

(Jones is a WR, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Falcons are playing the Bucs, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. WRs” cell. This is a great indicator for owners of Julio Jones and other Falcons receivers.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start, sit or pick up off the waiver wire for matchup or daily-league spot-plays.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also weighted averages of separate individual player scouting grades for members of the 2014 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question in Week 10.

  1. Is there any way to break this down for some teams into home /away?

Like the saints are different at home than they are away. It seemed this way for the falcons also buy I’m not sure it splits that easy this year.

I’m most interested in the saints and mostly for week 12.

Thanks RosterWatch! You guys are the best and my son keeps asking for Oscar’s song on Saturdays….

    Keep up the great work!

    Tate troubles

Drop Tate for west or Crowell? And winner vs Gore this week?

  3. Std league
    Need 2 RB
Ben Tate, S. Jax, or Gore
(Also have Martin which is questionable and Crowell to back up tate…..)

    Need 2 WR
    Watkins, Wallace, ODB, M. Bryant

    Please and Thank you

  4. Just curious…how can a team defense like Cincinnati be considered “weak” to opposing quarterbacks but “strong” to opposing receivers? It seems defense against those 2 positions would be similar. If you could explain, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

  5. Currently in 1st place at 7-2 in this 12 man standard league but the 6 teams below me aren’t far behind… Lineup is set as follows but I’m debating what to do at RB this week.

    1. Do I stick with both Buffalo backs or drop Bryce Brown to pickup and start any of these RBs: West, Crowell, K. Davis, Taliaferro, Polk, Riddick, or Damian Williams?
    2. I’ll have to drop someone for a DEF so who gets cut out of all those players on BYE on my bench? It’s impossible to get any other startable RBs in return for any of Bradshaw, T-Rich, McKinnon in any trades this week!

    My team:
    (1) QB: Rodgers
    (2) RB: Boobie Dixon, Bryce Brown (Jennings, Bradshaw, T-Rich, McKinnon)
    (2) WR: K. Benjamin, Evans (A. Robinson)
    (1) TE: Graham (Gronk)
    (1) FLEX: Harvin
    (1) K: Hauschka
    (1) DEF: empty

    Thanks in advance Rosterwatch experts!

    1. EDIT: West was snagged this morning by someone else but they dropped Jonathan Stewart if that changes your answer? Also if Fred Jackson plays this weekend this weekend, would that completely eliminate playing either of Dixon/Brown?

  6. In a jam with Jennings not looking like a go for another week and vereen on bye. My available backs are ellington (obviously starting him), terrance west (just picked him up), jonathan stewart, and bishop sankey. I need to start 2 along side Ellington since I can’t fill my flex with a receiver due to bye week issues.

  7. I need some WR depht down the stretch. I currently have Antonio Brown, Fitzgerald, Lafell and Watkins (Q)
I’m somewhat deep in RB’s: Lacy, Lynch, Tate, Sims, Tre Mason and Starks.
Do you think it’s time to part with Starks for another receiver? These are some of the wideouts available:
Hurns, Evans, Malcom Floyd, John Brown, Steve Johnson, Bowe or Gabriel.
    Taliaferro is also available too.

    1. Pick up Evans for Starks.

  8. Should I start Cutler or Wilson?

    1. We have them back to back. Cutler has a history of flopping at Lambeau, so Wilson gets the edge.

  9. Great! Thank you!
