RosterWatch Week 10 Matchup Tool
Welcome back. This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch. You can download it as always, or use the new, sortable and user-friendly online version.
It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
…
INSTRUCTIONS:
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you own Cardinals RB David Johnson, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First, look down the list and find the Arizona Cardinals. You will see that the Cardinals’ opponent (OPP) is the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10 and there are four color-coded cells in the Cardinals’ columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”
These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the 49ers) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS. They are not the rankings for the Cardinals, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THE GIVEN WEEK (the 49ers). In the “OPP vs. RBs” cell for the Cardinals, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means Cardinals RBs face the best possible matchup for opposing RBs in Week 10 in the 49ers. This is a great indicator for owners of David Johnson or for those thinking of rostering him in DFS contests.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.
With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference.
“1″ is the best (easiest) matchup, “32″ is the worst (toughest).
COLOR-CODES
(you like blue matchups best)
BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
WHITE: Neutral Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2016 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question.

Doug Martin dropped onto WW. My RB are DJ Booker Gio Ware and Howard. Go for Martin? Would have to drop C. Coleman, Moncrief or TWilliams. PPR Thank you!
Yes, get him. If you have to drop one of those guys I guess I drop Coleman
Need a WR, can spare J Howard with DeMarco and LeSean as my starters. TY Hilton for Howard…who’s getting swindled?
I don’t think anyone is getting swindled here. But I do think you win this trade by getting TY. Although trading away your RB depth is dangerous. Hopefully you got a respectable option should an injury occur.
.5 ppr if that matters
My weekly trade advice as I am trying to set my team up for the title run. I have traded my way to having AJ Green and Mike Evans to go with OBJ and Brandin Cooks. I have a chance to trade Cooks for JStew and Crabtree or Cooks for Doug Martin. My RBs are Gordon, Booker, and Perkins. Do a deal or stay put? Forgot to mention, I’m 9-0 using these tools and haven’t lost a regular season game since week 1 of last season.
nice work friend! i think you do need the help at rb. the first trade seems most agreeable imo.
Start two:
Diggs Landry TyWilliams ?
Ill roll with Diggs and Laundry. Even more so in a ppr…
10 team non ppr the gurly owner purposed a trade for devonte booker. Is that a move I should do
Yes I will take Gurly over Booker. Talks Booker might be loosing carries to Bibbs. No one is taking from Todd. And you have to improve improvements are ahead.
I need to start 3 out of the following: Forte, Britt, Fuller, DeSean, Beasley, Sanu.
PPR
Forte and Britt for sure. Give me Beasley as the last option. His worst game of the year was 53 yards and is currently WR19. Not that bad at all after a closer look.
is there anyway we can get the matchup tool converted to an excel/pages format? I tried but to do it on my own but have failed miserably lol
Making a push in a keeper league (keep 3), moving $29 Gurley ($200 budget) to try to win now, desperately need WR2, which WR/RB offer is best:
Fitz/Gore
Alshon/Lat
Cooks/Gio
Fitz and Gore are better right now. But can the old men keep it up? I think they can for the remainder of this year.
I have terrible match-ups this week. Need to pick 1 RB, 1 WR and 1 Flex out of
Jeremy Hill, Hightower, Crowell
Davante Adams, Corey Coleman, Kenny Britt
i’d go Hill, Adams, coleman
Standard scoring. Need either Crowell or R. Kelley. Both have tough matchups. Thanks.
Crowell by a hair
Carr on bye. Torn between Flacco vs Clev & Siemian @ NO. I hate Thurs night games & Flacco has not been good this season(6tds, 7ints) but is the matchup too good to pass up? Other possible options Wentz vs Atl or Bradford @ Wash.
I like Flacco here
RW, need some help on a few players.
Pick 1 QB – Flacco, Bortles, Siemien, Cutler, or Wentz? Thinking Bortles due to it being a divisional game at home.
Pick 2 Flex – Rishard Matthews, Chris Ivory, Paul Perkins, Kenneth Dixon, Doug Martin (snap count?)? Thinking of rolling with Matthews and Ivory, but tempted to go with Perkins over Ivory due to the matchup.
Pick 1 TE – Hunter Henry or Lance Kendricks?
As always thanks!
Get fitz and give up Lamar miller. 1PPR. Fair trade? I have ajayi and booker as starters and Julio, and maclin as starters
it’s not bad in a 1pt ppr. miller’s schedule is a lot better the second half of season though. i might try to move booker first. his hold on the job is a little more tenuous.
3 questions. Appreciate the help!!
Dixon or Crowell in flex (standard league)??
Pick 3 WRs: Coates, Diggs, Maclin, Coleman, J.Brown (standard league)
Blount or Edelman in Flex (Full point PPR)??
crowell, diggs, coleman, brown, edelman
Trade offer…Cooks for Ware…. Straight up. I have Bell and Freeman, with Perkins on the bench and I could use an upgrade at receiver…..
Yes. It make you better and addresses the need.
So RW got the old wheels turning when you guys were talking about possibly getting off and trading Julio. I have an offer on the table but would appreciate some input:
It’s a 10 Team .5 ppr 2 keeper league
Record: 6-3 (2nd place)
Team name: Zeke virus
My receivers are:
Julio
Doug Baldwin
Kelvin Benjamin
Jordan Matthews
Larry Fitz
My Rb’s
Zeke
Devonta Freeman
Derrick Henry
Jordan Howard
Kenneth Dixon
I’ve been offered
Todd Gurley, Demaryius Thomas and a 1st Rd pick for next year
For
Julio and Devonta.
Gurley is a 4th round keeper
Julio is a 3rd round keeper
Devonta is a 12th round keeper
I love my team due to a lot of help from you guys and believe I can win this year. Wondering if you guys think I can still win this year after making this trade? It’s all about winning now but if I can accomplish that and be ahead of the game for next year, I’ll pull the trigger.
Would love your input and expertise.
Thanks
Deagsdan
12 Team Standard (Record: 3-6)
[1] QB: Rivers (Prescott)
[2] WR: Hopkins, K. Benjamin (Cooper, M. Thomas, C. Coleman)
[2] RB: Miller, Ajayi (Crowell, Henry)
[1] TE: Rudolph
[1] W/R/T: Howard
Bench total: (5)
Trying to make a deal before the deadline with the team below for Bell! Ideally wanna do a 2 for 1 since I need to drop someone for a DEF. He just offered me Bell and Coates for my Miller and Benjamin so what should I counter with? I was hoping to move Hopkins preferably? Help me out here to save my season! (I’ll have to play against this team Week 13)
[1] QB: Brees
[2] WR: Sanders, Smith Sr. (Ty. WIlliams, Maclin, Cobb, Coates)
[2] RB: Bell, Johnson (Matt Jones)
[1] TE: Barnidge
[1] W/R/T: Booker
Bench total: (5)
Id accept his offer. Get Bell. Then drop Coats or Coleman. Hard to see either of those WR cracking your lineup.
My apologies for reposting here (posted late in the waiver wire cheat sheet string).
Standard scoring and 5-4 after a bad start. Planning more for ROS vs. current week and thinking about dropping C Michael (I don’t think his brief success will continue) for either an addition at WR, RB and maybe even QB. My current team:
QB Carr/Winston
RB Zeke/Bell/T Coleman/Gio/Michael
WR Cooper/Moncrief/Baldwin/TyWill/C Coleman
Available on wire:
WR JJ Nelson & Watkins
RB Hightower/Ivory/Perkins/Prosise/D Lewis
QB Taylor (looking good and has favorable ROS matchups…if Watkins returns, even better outlook )
After reviewing ROS matchups on all available players my gut is leaning towards dropping Michael now for Taylor, Hightower or Watkins. Nelson and Ivory are also appealing.
Should I make a move? Drop Michael and/or another? Worth picking up Taylor w/o dropping a QB or stick with a WR or even RB? Thanks for all of your advice and abundance of research through the season.
Struck out on getting D Martin who was dropped. Was offered Gurley for my M Thomas and Moncrief. Would be left with Julio, Landry, TWilliams, and C Coleman (Fuller avail on WW) Definitely in playoffs thanks to RW. Gurley would join DJ,ware , Howard, Booker, Gio. Get Gurley or stand pat? Thank you!
I don’t think getting Gurley makes you better. You are staked at RB already. Id hold tight and enjoy M. Thomas.
Perkins or Asiata in PPR?
They’re both playing favorable run defenses, sharing carries, and just seem so close. Even your rankings have them close together. Let me know your thoughts!
I think Perkins will get more touches. Asiata is now sharing with McKinnon AND Hillman.
thanks!
How’s it going, #RWN? I had a quick question before tonight’s TNF game. I have a key matchup and I’m having some trouble deciphering my choices. I have Cooks and M. Thomas, but the rankings would suggest sitting Thomas for Crowell, but I’m more tempted to sit Cooks for Thomas, and insert Crowell at the flex. Is that prudent or am I better off leaving Cooks and Thomas and sitting out the Thursday night matchup? Thanks ahead of time, and looking forward to more #RadioGold on Saturday. they gotta bring back the weekday shows haha. Thanks!
and to specify, Team Name and Record, Starvin’ Marvin Jones and I’m 7-and-2. This is standard league scoring as well. Thanks again.
Have Brady, L. Bell, D. Murry, Sprolls, Riddick W/Rs Edilman, J. Mathews, M. Wallace T/Es Gronk, Hunter
Start Sprolls or Riddick ? P/up Pitta @ T/end ?
game out of play offs NEED HELP Hope u can help Thanks !
i like riddick. i don’t care about pitta. he’s been disappointing all season.
Should I start Roethlisberger or Wilson?
Need 3 in 1 pt PPR – Pryor, Desean Jackson, Michael Thomas, Steve Smith Sr., Sammy Watkins, Davante Adams
Also Booker or McKinnon at RB?
Jackson,watkins,Pryor and booker
Need 1 flex in standard league – Jeremy Hill, Golden Tate, Crowell or E. Sanders, or Malcolm Mitchell?
Hill
Team name: Fightin’ Amish
Record: 10-4
Non-PPR. 1pt per 20yds rushing/receiving. Bonus for TD’s over 50. T Coleman or Rawls?
can’t go wrong with either. rawls is safer, but those settings give coleman good upside. based on td potential and carries i’d go with rawls.
Need a full lineup help guys. Playoffs PPR. need QB, 2 RB 2 WR and flex C palmer, bortles, flacco on waiver. D murray, ware, t coleman, booker, R Jennings, A robinson, T hill, Aj green if hes a go, Malcom Mitchel, and Texans d or eagles. Thanks a lot guys
I can pick of ty Montgomery and it will let me play as either a wr/rb also
I have two questions for my Week 16 Championship in my big league:
Tyler Eifert or Greg Olsen (Leaning Olsen)
Jonathan Stewart or Bilal Powell (Leaning Stewart)
Let me know, thank you!
olsen and stewart
Made it to the championship thanks to the RW nation. Thank you gentlemen. One last question until dynasty draft season.
Zeke Virus
.5 ppr
Need either Devonta Freeman or Jordan Howard at RB.
Need 2 out of Larry Fitz, Ty Montgomery and Dougie Fresh Baldwin for WR.
Thanks again and happy holidays to all of Roster Watch.
