RosterWatch Week 10 Matchup Tool Now Available

alex bylineWelcome back.

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship in-season tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool (or access the online tool for use) in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only traditional “fantasy points against” metrics (schedule-adjusted after 3 weeks of play), but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2022 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow/pace, sportsbook indicators, volume of total projected snaps and much, much, more.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you roster Giants RB Saquon Barkley, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look down the list and find the Giants (Barkley’s team). You will see that the Giants’ opponent (OPP) is the Houston Texans in Week 10, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”

These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the TEXANS’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.

They are not the rankings for the GIANTS, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the TEXANS). In the “OPP vs. RBs” cell for the Giants, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means that Barkley faces our best possible matchup for opposing RBs in Week 10 (the Texans). This is a great indicator for fantasy managers of Barkley, and is a positive sign for those thinking of rostering him in DFS contests.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.

With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: Vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference. The Vegas lines are updated hourly for your reference and research. Please note that matchup ratings can change slightly through the week as lines and totals shift, or as injuries to key defensive personnel occur.

1 is the best (easiest) matchup, 32 is the worst (toughest).

  1. 12 team .5ppr

I need to drop a TE. Which TE is prefered ROS:

    Everett or Dulcich?

    Thanks for your input.

    1. Everett is the more proven commodity, and is getting more targets. I like Dulcich, but his sample size is much smaller

    .5ppr need 2:
    Gabe Davis
    Pittman
    Wandale
    Marshall Jr.

    Thanks!

  3. Trade question

Should I trade T Algier and Kadarius Toney (both bench players) for M Pittman?

    Full point PPR league

    1. It’s risky but it could pay off. I doubt you’re starting either player anyway…

  4. PPR need help We play 2 RB 3 WR and 1 Flex
RB: DSwift, JamaalWilliams, LFournette, D’ontaForeman and DMontgomery
WR: CKupp, GPickens, JPalmer, DrakeLondon, Wan’DaleMoore

    Available on Waivers are:
MGallup, JDotson, MHarman, TMarshall JamesonWilliams MarquisBrown is also available (No IR bench spot in this league)

Any changes that I should make?

I also need to drop a player to pick up a Def this week. I have NE Def and intend on keeping them
Who should I drop? DLondon WandaleMoore?

    1. I think you’re set. I’d drop Palmer unless you plan on starting him this week

  5. I have JFields and Dak in a 10 team PPR league 4 points per passing TD
    my WR need bolstering
I usually carry only 1 QB
Can I trust JFields enough for season to trade Dak away for a WR?

    1. I think so. He’s done well against Dallas, and they have one of the best defenses in the league.

  6. Full PPR Im currenty 6 and 3 and in desperate need of a RB and I was offered the following trade.
My Hock and Lockett for J Williams and T Marshall.
My team: L Jackson, Conner, B Robinson, Warren, Drake, Lamb, Juju, D Moore, Kupp, G Wilson, Ertz, Waller and Hollywood on the IR.. I would probably end up having to drop Marshal to pick up a D and Kicker..
    Thoughts

    Thanks RW

    1. Belay my last 🙂
Same team what do you guys think about the following. My Hock, Coop and Moore for ETN?
      Thank again..

      1. You can afford to do it and you def need the rb help, so yes

        1. The guy pulled the trade (:
I got the following trade offers in my que now.. Same team as above which trade do you prefer
          – MY Cooper for C Patterson plays tomorrow so would be of no help to me this week
          My Cooper for J Wilson

          Thanks RW

  7. 12 team ppr, prefer NHines or JWarren going forward? I have no other Pitt or Buff rb’s. Thanks guys

    1. Hines is more proven and on the better offense so I’d probably go with him. Warren’s role should increase but we don’t know to what extent
