RosterWatch Week 11 Waiver Wire:RBs
Byron Lambert, Rosterwatch.com

After Andre Brown- and possibly Shane Vereen- most of this week’s crop looks to be of the desperation-garbage type.

As the Trashman has long taught us, rummaging through the garbage can be a very fruitful technique. All of the following players are 50% owned, or less, across standard fantasy football leagues. Happy choosing.

Andre Brown, RB New York Giants – 50% owned
Our managing editor, Alex Dunlap, told me I was a donkey for not making a much bigger deal about Andre Brown in last week’s waiver report. His hunch came to fruition. Eli Manning and the passing game is in complete shambles. It looks like the Giants may lean heavily on Brown down the stretch, and his remaining schedule is juicy. Coming off of a 17.90 Week 10 performance- Andre Brown is the #1 RB waiver pickup of the week.

Rashad Jennings, RB Oakland Raiders- 50% owned
Darren McFadden may still be out this week. At this point, the coaching staff may not be all that committed to him anyways. You get a little worried about a Jennings disappearing act the one week you start him- it happened earlier in the season when he filled in for DMC. The fact is Jennings looks legitimate scoring 34 points over the last two weeks. He should definitely be owned. If McFadden is ruled out again- Jennings is a solid start against Houston.

Shane Vereen, RB New England Patriots- 50% owned
With Bill Belichik, it’s hard to know exactly how anything will unfold. Vereen looked fantastic to start the year, though, and should be owned as the Patriots offense if finally healthy and could become explosive. We do know he will be joining some type of committee in Week 11 and beyond. This week, Vereen draws a stiff defensive challenge against the Panthers. This move is most suited for a winning team, who can wait-and-see while looking forward to a great matchup against Denver in Week 12.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Running Backs- 7% owned
Just as we were answering the question- WHO IS Mike James? He went down for the season with a broken ankle. In stepped Brian Leonard and Bobby Rainey. Both played well, and both deserve a look. We favor Rainey. He looked a little Darren Sproles-ish and got the touchdown. We like the matchup at home against Atlanta next week. It reminds us of Andre Ellington’s big game at home against Atlanta just a few weeks ago.

Donald Brown, RB Indianapolis Colts- 16% owned

We can’t believe we have to keep writing about him, and have no idea how he is only rostered in 16% of leagues. Brown has averaged 7.45 points over the last six weeks. He has a solid matchup at Tennessee this week. Head coach Chuck Pagano has pledged to run the ball more in Week 11.

Mark Ingram, RB New Orleans Saints- 16% owned
We’ve always observed two things about Mark Ingram when attending Saints training camp. He spends a lot of time on the stationary bike, and he looks like a corvette in his pre-snap stance. Out of nowhere, he looked like a rear-wheel drive American muscle car in Week 10. He was still low man on the totem pole as far as snap counts, but his 16 touches are nice. We like him most in games that could become lopsided in New Orleans favor. That could be the case this week at home against San Francisco- who has been a much better matchup for fantasy running backs than in years past.

Mike Tolbert, RB Carolina Panthers- 37% owned
He’d been good for a month straight, but we warned you that he is very touchdown dependent. He hurt his owners in Week 10 with a 2.30 point stinker. The matchup was predictably tough at San Francisco, in a defensive struggle. This week, New England represents a better matchup for fantasy running backs. Tolbert is still a desperation play- but even with Jonathan Stewart back- his role is cemented and he’s worth a long look. Stewart also deserves consideration, as he is only 21% owned and has averaged five points per game in his return.

Jacquizz Rodgers, RB Atlanta Falcons- 49% owned
Steven Jackson has been an old man that cannot pick his knees up for over two years now.’Quizz is still getting plenty of run and offers at least as much upside as Jackson. He might get you a two pointer, but there are plenty of other guys who will also. His 5.90 points in Week 10 is a reasonable expectation, while you cross your fingers for a touchdown. His matchup against Tampa in Week 11 is middle of the road.

Rashard Mendenhall, RB Arizona Cardinals- 49% owned
A completely underwhelming own. You will be sick if you look at his recent production, so I will not mention it. He is the starting running back on an NFL team, and his coach swears his role is cemented. Meaning you are guaranteed 10-15 touches, and might get a goal line carry or two. If you are desperate, the Cardinals get Jacksonville this week who are a good matchup on the season. However, they did just hold Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene in check- in a week many people had big expectations for the Titans runners.

Roy Helu Jr., RB Washington Redskins- 33% owned
It’s been a month now since Helu made an epic three game run. Lately, you can only trust him for three points. This week, the Eagles aren’t the easiest matchup- but if the game turns up-tempo, Helu could have an impact.

James Starks, RB Green Bay Packers- 22% owned
In Week 10, he looked much more like Eddie Lacy’s backup, than complement. Even though Starks has played really well lately (2 double digit performances the last 3 wks), Lacy is so good he’s hard to take off of the field. Starks owners can hope that the Packers will have to remain very run heavy in Aaron Rodgers absence which should lend itself to at least modest production out of Starks. This week’s matchup versus the Giants is a tough one. We recommend keeping him on the bench one more week as we determine his role moving forward.

Bernard Pierce, RB Baltimore Ravens- 25% owned
The whole Ravens offense is garbage. We’ve said all season Pierce looks slow and plodding. His production has been dreadful. That said, as unbelievable as it is, sometimes Pierce still looks better than Ray Rice. This week, head coach John Harbaugh has already vowed to take more of a hot-hand approach, as he admitted that Ray Rice just isn’t quite right this year.
