RWi RosterWatch Week 12 Matchup Tool

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.alex byline It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

wk 12 matchup
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Eagles RB Lesean McCoy, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First look at the Eagles’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. RBs” cell for THE EAGLES’ OPPONENT.

(Shady is an RB, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Eagles are playing the Titans, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. RBs” cell. This is a great indicator for owners of Lesean McCoy, Darren Sproles, or anyone thinking about utilizing either of these two players in their daily-league lineups.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start, sit or pick up off the waiver wire for matchup or daily-league spot-plays.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also weighted averages of separate individual player scouting grades for members of the 2014 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question in Week 12.

  1. Hey guys. Need your help on matchups. I need 2 RBs out of these 4. .5PPR Lynch, Jennings, Forsett, McKinnon. Still in 1st in one and 2nd in another league thanks to your advice and cheat sheets. Really excited about heading into playoffs. You guys rock. Thanks.

  2. What kind of value do you see Michael Floyd bringing if Larry Fitz sits this week?

    1. It’s hard to say as Fitz would actually deflect some attention from Floyd. As is I would have Floyd as WR3 with WR2 upside. I think John Brown might be in for a big one.

  3. What I would like to hear on the Saturday evening show is the stats on Steve Smith Sr on MNF and in prime time games. I think that he will show up and play well the rest of the year, but it will be teams picking their poison between Torrey or Smith Sr so they are unlikely to both have a big game the same week unless it is a beat down.

Also what you all think about Latavius Murray going forward?

    Thanks RosterWatch!

  4. Having a hard time at RB, you guys like McCoy and Jennings… I also have Mason, F-Jax and Crowell

Mason has a tasty matchup against the soft Chargers D… McCoy has to produce one of these weeks doesn’t he??

    1. I’d try to get Crowell in there actually. Atlanta is the best matchup for RBs on the season. I’d roll with McCoy and Jennings and try to get Crowell in at the flex. Nice problem to have.

  5. Hey guys 10 team standard scoring I need to choose 2 rbs and a flex wondering if you can help me out

    I have
    Ellington
    Tre Mason
    Oliver
    Gray
    Ivory
    Hawkins
    Keenen Allen

  6. I am 6-5 in a 12 team full point ppr league fighting for a playoff spot. I am starting LeSean McCoy, Rashad Jennings, Mike Evans, and Odell Beckham as my 2RBs and 2WRs this week. However, I have Antonio Brown and Kelvin Benjamin on bye this week and am filling two flex spots with Jonas Gray and Charles Sims. Do you think it would be better to drop either Sims or Gray for Bryce Brown this week? Unfortunately, I can only roster a maximum of 4RBs. I know Brown’s and Gray’s match ups are not good. In addition, the RBBC of the Patriots and the fact that Sims hasn’t run away with the starting job has me concerned for this week. Thanks in advance for all the help without it I would probably wouldn’t be in a position to make the fantasy playoffs.

  7. Fair Trade?
Ellington, Jordan Matthews, Fred Jackson for Demarco.

  8. Standard league flex? Julian Edelman, Golden Tate, Mike Wallace, or Terrance West?
