RosterWatch Week 12 Matchup Tool Now Available
Welcome back.
This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community.
It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship in-season tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only traditional “fantasy points against” metrics (schedule-adjusted after 3 weeks of play), but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2022 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow/pace, sportsbook indicators, volume of total projected snaps and much, much, more.
…
INSTRUCTIONS:
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you roster Bills QB Josh Allen, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First, look down the list and find the Bills (Allen’s team). You will see that the Bills’ opponent (OPP) is the Detroit Lions in Week 12, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”
These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the LIONS’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.
They are not the rankings for the BILLS, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the LIONS). In the “OPP vs. QBs” cell for the Bills, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means that Allen faces our best possible matchup for opposing QBs in Week 12 (the Lions). This is a great indicator for fantasy managers of Allen, and is a positive sign for those thinking of rostering him in DFS contests.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.
With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: Vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference. The Vegas lines are updated hourly for your reference and research. Please note that matchup ratings can change slightly through the week as lines and totals shift, or as injuries to key defensive personnel occur.
1 is the best (easiest) matchup, 32 is the worst (toughest).

I need to drop 2 of these guys in a 12tm ppr: Kadarius Toney, Elijah Mitchell, Gus Edwards, or Brandin Cooks (who I probably should have dropped weeks ago lol).
Toney and Gus can be dropped of this group. Good luck!
Is trading Pickens for Jeff Wilson worth it? I’m even willing to offer Olave to the Saints fan that owns Wilson. I already have Jefferson, AJ, Hopkins entrenched as starters and need to make some moves at RB depth (Saquon, Etienne, Zeke, Elijah Mitchell, Kyren)
Wilson is a better rest of season play than Pickens, but has more injury risk (RB) and we still love Pickens Good luck
I’m the Mixon owner.
NonPPR, on the bottom of bench I have Garret Wilson, Michael Pittman, Kadarius Toney, and Gus Edwards (Dobbins in my IR slot). Are any of these guys worth dropping for Perine? Or should I be comfortable flexing one of those guys out of Mixon doesn’t go? I’m still fighting for a playoff spot.
Will it ever happen for Toney? If you want to cut him for Perine, we sign off. If you want to hold. no problem either
Flex question. Would you start Singletary over Metcalf, Aiyuk or suttton ?
Do you think chase, m Williams and toney will play this weekend ?
Also it seems that Aiyuk gets no respect in the rankings. In my league ( .5 per) he has averaged 15 pts a game for the last 5 weeks.
Happy Thanksgiving to the RW staff.
Metcalf represents highest floor and upside
If Chase comes back, who gets dropped: Gus, Lat Murray, Cordarelle, Pickens or Burks? All thanks to the Nation!
Gus cant be trusted to stay healthy
1 QB league-Cousins or Matt Ryan?
