RosterWatch Week 3 Matchup Tool Now Available
Welcome back.
This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community.
It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship in-season tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only traditional “fantasy points against” metrics (schedule-adjusted after 3 weeks of play), but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2024 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow/pace, sportsbook indicators, volume of total projected snaps and much, much, more.
…
INSTRUCTIONS:
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you roster Bengals WR Ja’marr Chase and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First, look down the list and find the Bengals (Chase’s team). You will see that the Bengals’ opponent (OPP) is the Washington Commanders in Week 3, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”
These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the COMMANDERS’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.
They are not the rankings for the BENGALS, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the THE COMMANDERS). In the “OPP vs. WRs” cell for the Bengals, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means that Chase faces our best possible matchup for opposing WRs in Week 3 (the Commanders). This is a great indicator for fantasy managers of Chase. It is also a positive one for those thinking of rostering him in DFS contests.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.
With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: Vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference. The Vegas lines are updated hourly for your reference and research. Please note that matchup ratings can change slightly through the week as lines and totals shift, or as injuries to key defensive personnel occur.
1 is the best (easiest) matchup, 32 is the worst (toughest).
COLOR-CODES

10-team .5 PPR.
I’m a Rachaad White owner.
Drop Jaylen Warren for Bucky Irving?
Warren is starting to come on, but it’s fine if he’s just a bench spot for you
Full PPR, who would you guys drop to pick up Jaydon Reed, or would you not drop anyone. I currently have the waiver claim in to drop Groupe the kicker. But I was considering Hubbard, but my RB depth would take a major hit. As it stands here is my team and off by the way I’m 2 and 0 thanks to you guys.
– AR, Carr, CMC, Walker, Achane, Mostert, J Mason, Evans,MHJ, Goedert, Walker, Seahawks, Hubbard, McLaurin, JSN, B Thomas Jr and Worthy.
Thanks RW.
I might drop BTJ to pick up Reed but it;s close!
Is now a good time to tier down from Rachaad White in dynasty (12T SF PPR). He’s currently my RB3.
Thinking about sending out White, Tracy, and a 2025 2nd for Braelon Allen and a 2025 1st.
Also, how concerned should we be about Pittman? Is he another one to think about hard selling also?
As for my RB room:
Walker, Etienne, White, Chandler, Steele, Tracy, Laube, Lloyd, Kendre
Iike both those ideas, but would see if I could get it done for a 2025 3rd from you.
I drafted both Miami WR as Waddle fell to me with a good value. I have Achane and JWright Now I am in a world of $#!?
Me:
WR THill, MEvans JWaddle, TDell, XWorthy
RB DAchane, JConnor, Jordan Mason, TEtienne, BCorum, JWright
We play 2RB 3WR and 1 Flex
Should I diversify WR and pick up any of these available free agents? WHO WOULD I Drop?
WR: Quentin Johnson, Khalil Shakir, JPalmer, McConkey, DMooney, MikeWilliams, Gabe Davis
Mostert is a FA in my league. Snatch him? Who would I drop?
Another thought is to buy low on Olave. Who could I offer?
Waddle and a low bench RB?
I would offer Waddle and a bench RB for Olave, but I don’t see a fair value bench RB you could send.
Why is Devonta Smith a -5 in the rankings? Per your matchup tool, NO is #16 vs WR (middle of the pack) and he should be the WR1 with AJ Brown out. I’m not aware of a corner shadow. Your showing starting Jameson Williams over Devonta Smith per the rankings, is that correct? Thanks in advance!
Breece’s Peeces 2-0 10 team 0.5ppr
I have the bench space to pick up one of these for a potential keeper next season (I understand it’s early, but like I said I have the space available so idk)
Blake Corum and Trey Benson were both dropped this waiver cycle.
I feel they drafted Benson to replace Conner next season but he hasn’t inspired much confidence so far, and everyone says Kyren is basically McVeys son. I am only thinking about next season, not at much their outlook for this year.
Thoughts?
If you’re only talking next year, i think Benson is likely to be in a much better spot in 2025, but that could be very wrong. Corum has real talent.
I should have asked this before I pulled the trigger, but I traded Kamara for a 2025 first. It is a .5 ppr dynasty league with no superflex, the roster is two rb spots, two flex spots, and two wrs, one qb, and one te. My rbs left are Taylor, Jacobs, Dobbins, Ray Davis, Gus bus, White, Chris Brown, and Keaton Mitchell. Did I mess up?
answered in another thread
12 team PPR; 1-1
[1] QB: AR
[2] RB: Hall, Henry (Javonte Williams, Brooks*, Dowdle, B. Allen)
[2] WR: Evans, Waddle
[1] TE: Ertz (H. Henry, Hockenson*)
[2] W/R/T: JSN, Shaheed
[1] IR: Pacheco*
Bench total: (6)
1) With only 1 IR spot, I just moved Pacheco there but with Hock and Brooks taking up precious bench spots do I drop one of my TEs for a WR/RB below? (feels wrong rostering 3 TEs)
2) Also assuming I keep Ertz and Henry, who is the start this week? Need to know ASAP since Patriots play TNF…
3) Any other add/drops or consolidation trade ideas? I know it’s early but had a tough loss last week and face #1 team this week so want to make sure I keep this team sharp but I’m not feeling too confident with Waddle, AR and my depth …
Available:
WR: Legette, Thielen, E. Moore, Nailor, Whittington, Mitchell
RB: Gibson, R. Davis, Bigsby, E. Wilson
Also, Full PPR my Goedert and JSN, for La Porta..
Thanks RW
WRs: MHJ, Jameson Williams, Kupp(IR), McLaurin, Demarcus Rob,
RBs (only 1 RB starting slot): JTaylor, JJacobs, Jerome Ford.
I probably can’t drop any of these for Braelon Allen stash huh?
Maybe Robinson if he doesn’t assume the no.1 wr role
Pro member in need of serious help. My league is 12 team 0.5 PPR, keeper league. My FAB is $100. Rome Odzune just became available on the waiver wire and not sure how much to bid. My team is 0-2 and in need of serious help. My other WRs are Chase, Metcalfe, Mooney and McConkey. Do I bid the full $100 to secure him for the future or bid less and hopefully no one out bids me.
don’t blow all your FAAB on Rome, maybe go $38
