RosterWatch Week 6 Matchup Tool Now Available
Welcome back.
This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community.
It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship in-season tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only traditional “fantasy points against” metrics (schedule-adjusted after 3 weeks of play), but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2022 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow/pace, sportsbook indicators, volume of total projected snaps and much, much, more.
…
INSTRUCTIONS:
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you roster Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First, look down the list and find the Chiegs (Pacheco’s team). You will see that the Chiefs’ opponent (OPP) is the Denver Broncos in Week 6, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”
These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the BRONCOS’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.
They are not the rankings for the CHIEFS, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the THE BRONCOS). In the “OPP vs. RBs” cell for the Chiefs, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means that Pacheco faces our best possible matchup for opposing RBs in Week 6 (the Broncos). This is a great indicator for fantasy managers of Pacheco. It is also a positive one for those thinking of rostering him in DFS contests.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to break ties regarding which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.
With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: Vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference. The Vegas lines are updated hourly for your reference and research. Please note that matchup ratings can change slightly through the week as lines and totals shift, or as injuries to key defensive personnel occur.
1 is the best (easiest) matchup, 32 is the worst (toughest).

I would get Derrick Henry, Rachaad White, Mark Andrews, Justin Jefferson, and I will be giving away Jonathan Taylor, breece Hall, Calvin Ridley. 1 ppr and we don’t need to roster a TE. Would you do this trade? I already have at running back Montgomery, Roschon, and Kendre
Yes, I’d do it
I just completed the trade and now I’m trying to trade Mark Andrews to the Lamar Jackson owner. He has Pacheco, Swift and Ken Walker at RB that I’m trying to trade for. What is the order of which I should try and trade for of those 3 Rbs?
Hey Cody, if jaylen warren was on the waiver wire cheat sheet, where would he rank and how much FAAB would you recommend? Thanks much
— not a hypothetical in my league 🙂
Hey Trashman — love to hear your thoughts on this too. thanks
Would be right behind Roschon on the Cheat cheat for me, he has out performed Najee every week so far and as the season goes on, they will continue to utilize him. However the upside just isn’t the same as Roschons’ when not concussed
Injury bug hits 3 of my players this past week: JJefferson DAchane A Richardson
PPR 10 team
My team bye week ( )
QB C Stroud (7) on IR: A Richardson (11) (1 QB league)
WR JWaddle (10) DK Metcalf (5) MThomas (11) on IR: JJefferson (13) Play 3 WR 2RB and 1 flex
RB: JJacobs (13), I Pacheco(10) RochJohnson(13) RWhite(5) R Stevenson(11) on IR: DAchane (10) Play 3 WR 2RB and 1 flex
TE Laporta (9)
What to do? I have players for this week to fill all spots, but
week 10 and 11 will have a WR empty roster spot and I have no WR depth as well so I hope no WR injuries
Week 7 I will have QB Bye
To plan ahead of this week:
WR available as FA right now are: Dionte Johnson(6) QJohnson (5), KJOsborn (13) JDowns (11) JReynolds (9)
QB available for week 7: DWatson vs IND SamHowell VS NYG BMayfild vs ATL BPurdy vs MN Jimmy G vs Chic JDobbs vs Seattle
Who would I drop for any of these?
Who could I use to trade for a WR form a trade partner? I Pacheco(10) RochJohnson(13) RWhite(5) R Stevenson(11)?
I’d try to get Osborn for this week. I feel like Thomas is your only droppable player. I’d try to trade Stevenson or White though. In wk7 I’d go with Purdy
Trade Montgomery and Evans for Josh Jacobs ?
no way, montgomery is too valuable right now
agree 3000%
Too crazy to drop AR15 given injury and timeline?
not if it’s not keeper or dynasty
Start Higgins or Sutton tonight in ppr? Worried we won’t know about Higgins health until after TNF
Not touching Sutton with a 40-foot pole… #40 = his AVG finish at WR this year.
Bet on Higgins and if he can’t go – going to have to make a smart play on the Wire, which I feel good about.
I’d play it safe and go Sutton. Higgins could have a setback even if he goes
12 team PPR league: 4x champion currently 0-5 after losing a 2 point game last week. All my IR and injured people are back and hoping to chase a wild card spot.
My question: Do I start Lamar Jackson with a WR corp of oopsies or Matt Stafford with a support cast of Kupp and Kyren Williams. I’m suffering from 0-5 battered syndrome.
My gut tells me Stafford but all the rankings have Jackson way up….
What say you?
