RosterWatch Week 7 Matchup Tool Now Available

alex bylineWelcome back.

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community. You can download it as always, or use the new, sortable and user-friendly online version.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool (or access the online tool for use) in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2017 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow, Vegas indicators, volume of total snaps and much, much, more.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Bills WR Zay Jones, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look down the list and find the Bills (Jones’ team). You will see that the Bills opponent (OPP) is the Bucs in Week 7, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”

These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the Bucs’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.

They are not the rankings for theBills, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the Bucs). In the “OPP vs. RBs” cell for the Bills, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means Jones faces the best possible matchup for opposing WRs in Week 7 in the Bucs. This is a great indicator for owners of Jones or those thinking of rostering him in DFS contests. (Please note that Zay Jones is not necessarily a strong play this week in a traditional sense as he’s been awful to start the season, but if you are interested in playing the matchups, he definitely has our top-rated situation of the week for fantasy purposes). This is an example given to provide instructions on how to read the tool for those who may be new to the site.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.

With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference.

“1″ is the best (easiest) matchup, “32″ is the worst (toughest).

WHITE: Neutral Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups

  1. I need 1 WR 1 Flex PPR.
    D Jax
    Funchess
    Pryor
    Sanu
    Cobb
    Darkwa
    McKinnon
    Dion Lewis

  2. When I go to print – it brings me to the WWCS. Love this Fucking Tool!

  3. Dj owner offered me ertz and either Hilton or Benjamin for ap and bran cooks…..what do you think?

  4. Post By ModestHippo123

Should I trade Marshawn for Nelson Agholor? Need a WR3 bad. I already have Bell and Howard.

    1. If you will never play lynch then you should consider it. Lynch is a solid flex play moving forward

    2. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

Do you have a flex position that you can play the beast in? If so I would hang onto him and use him accordingly. I am not keen on trading rb for wr unless I am getting overvalue but that is just me. No decent wr3 on waivers???

  5. Just a heads up as mentioned above. When I click on the download and print tab on the week 7 match up tool it opens the week 7 waiver wire cheat sheet in my printer. You guys ROCK!!!

  6. So I run through this for QB position and I want to make sure I have a reasonable approach to the tool –

I’m looking for High O/U and players in the Blue — I’m also assuming that the team who is the Dog will need to pass more.

    This brings me to:

Hundley from GB vs. NO, 5.5 point dog in a 47.5 o/u and a 10 rank
Beathard from SF vs DAL, 6 point dogs in a 46.5 o/u and a 12 rank
Goff from LAR vs ARI, 3 point favorites in a 47 o/u and a 8 rank.

Provided Goff has actually done something in the NFL seems like a reasonable play at home (not to mention the RB is a 25, WR is a 11 and TE an 8 rank). Leans toward a busy day for Goff and company through the air

We have a reasonable decision made?

Available players – Palmer, Dalton, Goff, Sieman, Beathard, Bortles, Cutler, Manning, Keenum, Hundley, Brissett, Flacco, Trubisky.

    Thanks Gents!

  7. Gentlemen – was just offered Kamara for D. Watson – my rb’s are Mixon, Ajayi, Darkwa, Lewis. I have Brees, which may make it worth the loss. Thoughts?

    1. Post By gr8one_22@hotmail.com

I think you could get more for Watson

    2. I would think you could get more for watson

      1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

        I concur….

  8. Post By rahulkaul641@gmail.com

Should I move Julio for Devonta Freeman or Should I offer Demarco and Keenan for Freeman. I already have M.Ryan as my qb as well.

    1. Listen to the trade cast. these guys were discussed. You will be way better informed on what you should do. I would rather do demarco and Allen if you really want freeman

  9. RW… Drop J. Stewart, L. Murray for Alex Collins and Dion Lewis? Thanks for any input.

    1. Murray for sure. Stewart offer the upside but he should keep getting work.

      1. Stewart doesn’t offer the upside.

  10. What are your thoughts on Kizer as a steamer this week over Brissett?

    1. Are we sure Kizer is starting

      1. I read earlier from the beat writer that he was back in the line up.

        1. You’re right he is. Kizer’s matchup is nice and juicy. I would play him over Brissett this week.

          1. Post By Big Wolf

            Thanks man.

      2. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

Yes. They announced it…. and those are some big Cohones To stream Kizer even though it is a good matchup. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

  11. RW,

    I need a RB & Flex plz… (PPR) 20 yards = 1 pt
    D Murray, D Henry, W Smallwood, T Coleman, S Sheppard, D Parker

    Thanks!!!
    A dReAm TeAm (5-1)

    1. I was thinking Smallwood & Sheppard…

      1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

        Henry and Coleman

    2. Murray and coleman

  12. Post By Dsummitt15@sbcglobal.net

    Standard Scoring
    4-2 record
    QB: Russell Wilson
RB: Doug Martin, Alvin Kamara, Buck Allen, Thomas Rawls, Wayne Gallman, Elijah McGuire
WR: Mike Evans, Micheal Thomas, Doug Baldwin, Keenan Allen, Josh Doctson
    TE: Travis Kelce

I’m looking to upgrade at RB so my starters can be Doug Martin and a potential RB1

    1. Would you trade Alvin Kamara and Keenan Allen for Joe Mixon and Devante Parker? or is that one of those trades where its not clear who the winner is?

    2. Ed Dickson and George Kittle are on the waiver wire in my league. Should I try and package Keenan Allen, Buck Allen or Kamara ( just 1 of these) with Travis Kelce to get a potential RB1? Then pick up Ed Dickson or George Kittle to fill my TE spot? If so Which TE is the better season long pick up?

  13. Post By Show Me Your TDs

16 team standard, record is 3-3

TE question: I currently have jesse james and they are pretty dried up on the wire. Do we like B watson, V Davis, or O’leary better for ROS. Listening to tradecast and kind of leaning V Davis. Would you agree? Thanks all

  14. Hey guys. In a standard scoring league with 3 WR 2 RB no flex. I was offered Julio Jones for Le’veon Bell. I am tempted to do it because I have Fournette and Peterson/Kamara/Mcfadden at RB and at WR I have Landry/Garçon/Adams/Baldwin. Should I do it?

I’m 4-2 and tied with 1 for 3rd place if that matters

    1. I would try to move Peterson and kamara for a wideout

      1. Or even McFadden. I was able to get Dez for Desean Jackson and Mcfadden.

    2. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

Standard league…. itnis going to take more than Julio to get Bell from me!!!

  15. Standard League
Trade: Micheal Crabtree and Alvin Kamara
Receive : Julio Jones, ASJ (or Cam Brate) and Lamar Miller

Other WR: Dez Bryant, Desean Jackson, Devin Funchess, Pryor
Other RB: Gordon, Hunt, Aaron Jones, Mixon Cohen

Should I accept this trade or appeal. I offered jones, kamara and jackson for julio straight up but it got declined. What is everyone thinking?

    1. He considered the trade for like 4 hours and ended up declining so he’s very available to trade away Julio. His other wide outs are Mike Evans and TY. Maybe I could go after TY with less value. Need a stud WR right now and just not sure which direction to go. Love the site, thanks guys!

      1. You should try to by Hilton low first. You can improve the most that way

  16. Post By rw-DFStrainwreck

Need help. I’m in a deep super competitive old school standard scoring non h2h points league with very savvy owners. We start 1 QB, 1 Rb, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB, 1 WR/TE, K, and D/ST. I have a great RB situation I have K.Hunt, D.Freeman, A.Peterson, D.Foreman, A.Collins. however my Wr/te have been struggling I have M.Evans, D.Parker, T.Hill, R.Cobb, and J. Reed. Should I spend waiver priorities for Doctson or try to move some players for a stud Rb. It will take a maniacal cocamaine move to get a stud receiver in this league. They are crazy old school dirty fantasy football players who do nasty moves like the trashman. Any advice would be appreciated.

    1. I’m not sure you can get a better back than hunt. I would see what the market is like for AP. You have a good core of players in hunt, freeman, Evans, hill. You’re wr/the spot will be fine too once Parker returns.

  17. Post By rw-DFStrainwreck

    Stud WR***^^^^

  18. Post By rw-DFStrainwreck

Ya RB was a typo meant WR. I want to/have been shopping AP in package deals with Cobb for Julio, T.Y., and few others Studs to no success, but falling behind in the points race. I know I have a talented roster, but they just aren’t firing on all cylinders quite yet. My mind tells me to weather storm and let the stars align, but watching myself drop from 1st to 5th in the rankings has me antsy to make some cocamaine moves lol.

  19. You could definitely see what you can get for freeman. Maybe throw in reed or Cobb and get some kind of rb back with the stud wr.

    1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

As Byron said tonight only sell D Freeman if you get a super premium!!!

      1. Thanks for pitching in guys. Best wishes to each of you this week!

  20. Morning! I have been trying to download your match up tool info, but every time I click on the link to download it takes me to the waiver wire cheat sheet. Is there a problem with the link?
Thank you for all you do and keep it up. Blessed be!

  21. Please fix the link to download/print the matchup tool. You guys are awesome and all, but i do pay you a nominal monthly fee, and so would expect simple things like that to be corrected in a reasonably timely manner. Thanks!

    1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

You might want to send an email…. The young lady at the office can handle that in case the guys missed it.

  22. Post By chuckcnc@icloud.com

Alex Collins or Willie Snead for flex position. I am 1-5 and need a win badly. I need the player with the highest floor.

    Thanks

    1. Post By chuckcnc@icloud.com

      1/2 point PPR.

      1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

Yuck…. nothing else on waivers to throw a dart at??? I say go with Snead… and pray!

        1. Post By chuckcnc@icloud.com

Yea. 16 team league although only 3 bench spots not anything much better than those two out there on waivers.

        2. Post By chuckcnc@icloud.com

I could pick up Robby Anderson and drop either Snead or Collins? Do you think that makes sense?

          1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

I stick with my original thought of Snead and pray!

          2. Post By chuckcnc@icloud.com

Forgot to mention that I have Doctson on my bench. My opponent had Lynch in lineup last night and I have a slight lead in projections. I could take a bit of risk on this play now.

Doctson is the co-leader on his team in End Zone Targets and TD’s per game. Alongside Gruden’s comments regarding his increased role, perhaps he is as good a risk as Snead.

            What do you think?

  23. PPR Trade (2-4)

    Giving: Hilton
    Getting: Cooper and Ellington

    RBs: Mixon, A. Jones Foreman
WRs: K. Allen, M. Bryant, Snead, Kupp, Doctson, Mike Williams and Zay Jones

  24. Lynch tonight vs KC? Or Anderson or Montgomery on Sunday? PPR

    1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

      Anderson!

  25. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

Hopefully you went Anderson that is!

  26. Hey Guys- worried about starting Winston this week.
    D. Watson on my bench on bye. Bad timing.

    T. Taylor and N Hundley are available.

I’d have to drop w. Fuller or r. Kelly if I picked up anyone.

Thanks for the pop flash and sizzle!

  27. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

Weather permitting I roll with Hundley!!! But check the weather!!!
