RosterWatch Week 8 Matchup Tool Now Available
Welcome back.
This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community.
It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship in-season tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only traditional “fantasy points against” metrics (schedule-adjusted after 3 weeks of play), but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2022 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow/pace, sportsbook indicators, volume of total projected snaps and much, much, more.
…
INSTRUCTIONS:
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you roster Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First, look down the list and find the Chiefs (Pacheco’s team). You will see that the Chiefs’ opponent (OPP) is the Denver Broncos in Week 8, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”
These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the BRONCOS’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.
They are not the rankings for the CHIEFS, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the THE BRONCOS). In the “OPP vs. RBs” cell for the Chiefs, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means that Pacheco faces our best possible matchup for opposing RBs in Week 8 (the Broncos). This is a great indicator for fantasy managers of Jones Pacheco. It is also a positive one for those thinking of rostering him in DFS contests.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to break ties regarding which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.
With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: Vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference. The Vegas lines are updated hourly for your reference and research. Please note that matchup ratings can change slightly through the week as lines and totals shift, or as injuries to key defensive personnel occur.
1 is the best (easiest) matchup, 32 is the worst (toughest).

Hi there,
Trade offer I have is:
Sending – Andrews and Achane
Receiving – Kelce
Rest of my team is as follows:
QB: Fields/Goff
RB: Kamara/Kyren W/Najee/Achane
WR: Mike Evans/Theilen/Olave/Diontae Johnson
TE: Mark Andrews
Thinking of doing it even though RB will be hurting bad. Especially come NO week 11 bye. Thoughts?
you have the right read, I would have to know your record to see if you could take on that uncertainty tho until Kyren comes back. It’s a good trade in a vaccuum, but I’d be hesitant to take it if I were you.
I have stafford.but Dak is on waivers. Who should I take for rest of season. Or should I grab both and drop Jahon Dotson? Dak has some good matchups coming up
I like Dak better than Stafford this week, if you have a league where guys like Dak are available, guys like Stafford will probably stay available to if you’d want to stream those types of guys moving forward.
How much faab for Levis in superflex? Willis just went for $16 yesterday
prob around 20-30% of original budget.
10-team .5ppr keeper (2).
Send my Gibbs and Downs
Receive Garrett Wilson
Wilson owner is 1-6 and in last. I’m 6-1 in second. I’ll probably never play Downs. Gibbs’ role will diminish after DET bye.
I would standpat with Gibbs and your 6-1 squad or find a better trade-up than GW.
