The Fantasy Fallout Heading Into Week 12

Trashman BylineCongrats if your team even slightly resembles the one you drafted. And even more kudos if you’re winning with one that looks entirely different. Hopefully we’ve helped you weather the storm. This is the fantasy fallout going into week 12:

Week 12 is critical on your waiver wire. Win with the waiver wire cheat sheet.
rosterwatch-pro-testimonials

Colts vs Falcons

  • Donte Moncrief was the target leader (8) for interim QB Matt Hasselbeck. Not sure if was just a matchup thing, but Moncrief should at least retain WR3 consideration while Luck is out.

  • Ahmad Bradshaw will have a considerable role in the running and passing game if Frank Gore sits this coming week, which is likely. Make him a high waiver priority.

  • DeVonta Freeman is moving through the concussion protocol nicely, and is on track to play in Week 12. Should there be a hiccup, Tevin Coleman will be a RB2 versus the Vikings, if he can hang onto the ball.

Rams vs Ravens

  • If anything can be said for Case Keenum it’s that he can take a hit. He stunk it up against one of the best QB matchups in the league. We may have a pitiful mockery of a QB controversy in St. Louis this week.

  • Crockett Gillmore deserves TE1 consideration for the remainder of the season as a candidate to lead the Ravens in targets and redzone looks from here on out.

  • Matt the “manager” Schaub will take over as the QB for the Ravens for the rest of the season will Flacco down for the count. A turnover machine in recent years, Schaub will make the Ravens a team to target for streaming defenses.

  • To add insult to injury, Justin Forsett broke his forearm on Sunday. Buck Allen will start for the foreseeable future. A reasonable talent, Allen is a top priority waiver add due to the fact that he’s going to get a ton of action. It might be prudent to add Raheem Mostert in deeper leagues in the case Allen doesn’t work out. Mostert is SPARQ freak who could do some damage if given the chance – he went bananas just this very preseason.

Redskins vs Panthers

  • Time for Jordan Reed owners to add Derek Carrier again. Apparently the MCL sprain Reed suffered is “minor”, but there really isn’t such a thing as a minor injury when Reed is concerned. You need to have Carrier in tow to sleep soundly.

  • The Devin Funchess train is starting to chug along nicely. It took over half the season, but it’s finally happening. He needs to be owned across formats. Now if he could just talk to Nelson Agholor

Broncos vs Bears

  • Brock Osweiler is no Peyton Manning, but that is actually a compliment these days. He turned the ball over 0 times against the Bears, and that’s a marked improvement. He has approximately 1 more game to be serviceable, before teams get enough tape on him to expose his weaknesses.

  • If anything, the Osweiler move is a boon for Ronnie Hillman owners as the Broncos will run the ball a lot more. CJ Anderson is even worth rostering.

  • Marquess Wilson finally made an impact in a game absent of Alshon Jeffery. It’s a short week for the Bears, so it’s worth holding onto him in case Jeffery can’t play on Thursday.

Raiders vs Lions

  • Just when you thought it was safe to start Derek Carr

  • Amari Cooper is the best WR in Oakland, but Carr is not going to force him the ball with so many viable receiving options at his disposal. That makes a Cooper a dicey play in tough matchups.

  • The three headed rushing attack is back in Detroit. With this development, Theo Riddick becomes the best bet for risky fantasy points as he’s used in every aspect of the offense.

Jets vs Texans

  • Chris Ivory only got 8 carries, and the Jets lost to the Texans. Coincidence? I doubt it. They’re going to feed him the ball this week.

  • Yates was surprisingly effective against the Jets, but Hoyer should be back in week 12 in what should be a juicy matchup against the Saints.

Cowboys vs Dolphins

  • Seems like the Dolphins offense is regressing, or it could just be that the Cowboys defense is shaping into form now that they’re not on the field as often.

Buccaneers vs Eagles

  • Winston threw 5 TDs against the Eagles and more importantly, no INTs. His receiving corps is getting healthy, and he’s going to be a top streaming option versus Indy.

  • New QB, same suck. The Chip Kelly experiment is floundering.

  • Should Jordan Reed sit, and you don’t have faith in Carrier, take a shot on Brent Celek this coming week. He’s going to feast on Thanksgiving if Ertz can’t get cleared.

  • Ryan Mathews missed Monday practice and is highly questionable for week 12.

Chiefs vs Chargers

  • What is up with K.C.’s defense? They’ve gone from zero to hero like a lightswitch. They need to be owned in all formats.

  • The Chargers seem intent on giving Melvin Gordon considerable carries, even though they keep on losing horribly. Danny Woodhead owners are so mad they could cuss.

Packers vs Vikings

  • It’s pretty sad when we’re shocked that fat Eddie Lacy hit 100 yards on the ground. Could be the start of a late season run though…maybe.

  • Hopefully Aaron Rodgers takes a winning effort predicated on getting James Jones the ball as a sign. I was this close to dropping him.

  • Kyle Rudolph came close to matching his season total in yards on Sunday. I don’t see him gaining TE1 status, but he’ll be a nice streamer this week against Atlanta.

Seahawks vs 49ers

  • Marshawn may need hernia surgery, and the ‘Hawks aren’t hurting with Rawls in the backfield. Rawls will start Week 12 and maybe more.

  • Tyler Lockett is no weekly lock, but he’s an interesting dart throw in DFS tournaments.

  • Shaun Draughn could put up RB2 numbers in plus matchups. Keep running him out there.

Bengals vs Cardinals

  • Take away Hill’s two goal line scores, and he disappears. Start him against the Rams at your own peril.

  • For those of you who took a chance on Ellington after his big week 10, I hope you learned your lesson. His lack of volume cannot sustain fantasy production.

  • Michael Floyd is not guaranteed to return in week 12. Why should he be rushed? J.J. Nelson filled in just fine and should do so again against the 49ers.

  1. Trashman, I want to thank you for writing this Fantasy Fallout column every week. I’ve been reading fantasy pundits for over 15 years and your work here is hands down the best in the business. I only discovered Roster Watch last year, and in that short time, this Fantasy Fallout has quickly become my go-to source for add/drops each week.

Out of deference to your work, I will subscribe to Rosterwatch Pro right now, even though you guys offer this Fallout advice each week for free.

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

    1. I second this. I almost bought a portable satellite radio just so I can listen to your show, but I got some ammo instead. Because of your tools, I think I might have had only one or 2 weeks with points on the bench. Sitting top 1st and 4th in standings and in points.

  2. Trashman! Thanks for all the help, your QB hot streak has been phenomenal. Last week we came a little short with Fitz over Oz but Ill take the 6 previous weeks! Awesome work as always.

Please rank these qbs for this week.
Winston, Fitz, Hoyer, R. wilson, mccown/Manzel, Stafford, Bradford, Cousins. Top 5 will suffice

And should I trade Osweiler in Dynasty? He has some value after last week, and my qb is bortles for the rest of the way, im stacked everywhere else and 9-2

    1. glad to help. i’d go wilson, hoyer, stafford, mccown, winston. if you think you can get value for him, i’d do it.

  3. I’ll keep piling on with the love; first place in three of five leagues I’m in and rosterwatch gets a lot of the credit. I want to keep it rolling but where’s the week 12 waiver wire cheat sheet?

    1. Rosterwatch PRO, to be exact

  4. Trashman! Love the column every week. Pro subscriber here for the first year. Caught on in week 4, been crushing it ever since. Already looking forward to 2016, my first full year as part of RW Nation.

Sproles, Adams or Diggs in the flex this week?

    1. Thanks for tuning in Emerson! I’d go with Diggs. Adams is questionable to play on a short week.

  5. Standard league pick 2. Erec Deker, Ty Hilton, or Brandin Cooks. Thanks

  6. Just to continue the love train, the Trashman is at least 68% of the reason I’m a Pro subscriber. Had a rough start in all leagues with injuries and underperformers (CJ Anderson, argh!), and Rosterwatch has brought me back to respectability at least in all leagues. The whole Rosterwatch team is very good, giving up the fantasy gold every week! I’ll definitely be back subscribing again next year!
