Fantasy Football IDP Monday Buzz

Welcome ladies and gentlemen as we’re about to put Week 1 in the books. I’m going to tell you which IDP’s impressed me, which studs were duds, and about 10 IDP’s who to keep your eye on if they’re available in your respective league.

We have 2 Monday Night Football games tonight. Aren’t we lucky? The IDP’s I’m looking forward to in both matchups are Jimmy Smith (Ravens), Michael Johnson (Bengals), Miles Burris (Raiders) and Donald Butler (Chargers). With Dunlap out, Johnson has to step up but that Bengals front four is strong with Peko and Atkins as well. All that pre-season praise and one of my sleepers, Jimmy Smith, it’s your time to shine, Burris makes his debut as well for the Raiders.

Now here are my 10 IDP’s that stood out to me and should be on your watch list for near future, either starts or pick-ups.

1. Koa Misi, LB (MIA) – 11 tackles (10 solo) praised him all off-season, grab him.
2. Tracy Porter, CB (DEN) – 8 solo tackles, 5PD, 1int 1td, could make some noise.
3. Jo-Lunn Dunbar, LB (STL) – 6 tackles (5 solo) 1PD 1int, solid LB3 – watch.
4. Akeem Ayers, LB (TEN) – 11 tackles (6 solo) if Colin misses time, grab him.
5. Jerraud Powers, CB (IND) – 6 solo 2PD – keep eye on, will get opportunities each week.
6. Henry Melton, DL (CHI) – 5 tackles (4 solo) 2sacks – solid buy for DT leagues.
7. Tim Jennings, DB (CHI) – 4 tackles (2 solo) 4PD 2int – underrated, grab him.
8. Dont’a Hightower, LB (NEP) – 5 tackles (4 solo) 1FR 1td – solid LB2/3, grab.
9. Cameron Jordan, DL (NOS) – 11 tackles (5 solo) – keep on watch list.
10. Paris Lenon, LB (ARI) – 9 tackles (8 solo) 2sacks 1FR – back on map, grab.

Navorro Bowman, LB (SF) – 11 tackles (8 solo) 2PD 1int – He’s just begun.
Cortland Finnegan, CB (STL) – 10 tackles (9 solo) 2PD 1int 1td – solid buy.
Daryl Washington, LB (ARI) – 10 solo tackles 1 sack – reason why he’s my #5.

What Happened to these IDP’s?

Jason McCourty, CB (TEN) – 2 tackles – very consistent in ’11, not worried, yet.
Jared Allen, DE (MIN) – 0 points – not worried, JA makes up for it in 1 game.
