Dynasty Rankings Update: 7/24/24

Jaleel McLaughlin, Broncos
Age: 24
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank: 192
Updated Rank: 183
McLaughlin appears to be the only Broncos RB, other than 5th round rookie Audric Estime, to have a guaranteed role in the Broncos offense come September. Veteran Samaji Perine and oft injured Javonte Williams appear to be battling it out for a roster spot (although it should be noted that those initial reports may have been overcooked as Williams got all the first-team work on the first day of camp this week), and UDFA Shrine Bowl standout Blake Watson is currently on the NFI list. McLaughlin had 570 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs last season, displaying more dynamism than Williams, and he deserves a boost in the rankings.

Quentin Johnston, Chargers
Age: 23
Movement: Falling
Previous Rank: 211
Updated Rank: 217
Johnston’s dynasty owners’ worst fears could be coming to life, as Johnston looks to be on the outside looking in on 11 personnel packages for the Chargers at this time. Joshua Palmer and DJ Chark are projected to play mostly on the outside, while rookie Ladd McConkey is likely to man the slot. This wouldn’t come as a huge surprise, as Johnston had a less than stellar rookie campaign in 2023(38/431/2), and I have to drop him in the rankings to soften the potential blow.

Dontayvion Wicks, Packers
Age: 24
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank: 118
Updated Rank: 106
There isn’t technically a no.1 WR on the Packers, hard as we might try to make Christian Watson that guy, and QB Jordan Love envisions a monster season for Wicks in 2024, according to a recent Bleacher Report sit-down. Wicks had a solid rookie season(39/581/4) with a 14.9 YPR average, seemingly coming out of nowhere in a WR corps stacked with young talent. On an offense that is quickly becoming one of the most explosive and productive in the league, Wicks needs to be a priority in dynasty.
