PRO Trashman’s 2020 Week 3 Flex Rankings: RB, WR, TE

Trashman HeaderOften times, there is nothing tougher (or more important) than deciding who your weekly flex-plays are. It can be a mind-numbing experience having to make cross-positional projections.

This season, our RosterWatch PRO community will have personal and exclusive access to our very own disgusting Trashman, who has carefully curated his personal weekly flex rankings in order to help you in gaining input about your roster decisions. 1. Hello RosterWatch Nation,

    12 team .5ppr record 2-0

I need to drop 2 to make room for kicker and defense.

    J Wilson
    Hines
    Shenault

    Which one to keep?

    Thanks for your insights.

    1. I would keep Shenault

      1. Thank you Byron.

  2. What up gentlemen:

Got a question on which WR’s to play this week for my 3 WR slots and 1 Flex out of the following 5:

    -Calvin Ridley (obviously)
    -Cooper Kupp
    -Marquise brown
    -Devante Parker
    -Ceedee Lamb

I am leaning towards sitting my lil cooper kupp this week. Thoughts? Thanks!

    1. But per your Flex rankings, you think sitting devante parker instead?

      1. FYI this is full point PPR league

        1. Man those are some tough decisions, you have a deep group of WRs. I say Ridley, Kupp, Lamb, Brown. Very tough to sit Parker, but he is a little banged up. Reason enough to pivot away for this week. Very tough.

  3. With DJ Chark being out would you play Shenault over Odell, DK Metcalf or Cee Dee Lamb? (Have to pick 3 for my WR2 and 2 flex spots)

    1. Mike Evans is my WR 1

  4. Post By bdculp77@gmail.com

Who to replace Charx with? Cole. Gage. Parker. Jeudy

    1. Like Devante best out of that group

  5. Hey Gents – I’m sitting on rb’s Drake, Mixon, and Conner, with associated cuffs, along with Gibson and Freeman – PPR League. Been offered a number of wr’s like Woods, K Allen, Golladay for Drake; which RB is the right sell candidate to use in a trade for an upgrade in receivers? Thanks – love the trade cast btw.

    1. You want to wait until after this week to trade Drake, Mixon or Conner. All have depressed values now, but Drake especially should get off this weekend.

  6. Ppr and I am currently 0-2
Should I play Aj green or devante Parker as my Wr2?
    Also flex spots options are
    Todd Gurley
    David Montgomery
    Gibson
    Moss
Parker or Aj green pending the 1st questions answer.
    Pick 2 flex spots

    1. Parker, Montgomery, Gurley for me.

1 Pt PPR – Need 3 between Woods, MVS, Cole, Fuller, Gage or Hurst. We don’t have to start a TE.

    Thank you in advance.

    1. Woods and Fuller, then we need to wait on Julio news. You don’t need to make that decision tonight. I don’t think you can get Cole in over either of the Falcons even if Julio plays.

  8. 0.5 ppr

Start Lavishka, Jeff Wilson or McKinnon?

    1. Jesus, maybe I’d go Laviska. Check what Trashman says in the Flex Rankings too, though. I’m not supremely confident in that rec. Wilson is almost sure to get a few shots to score a TD. I like McKinnon a good bit more in full PPR as well. That decision would be giving me a huge headache. I lean Shenault because I like to get sick with players I love, but please check what Trashman has for flex rankings as well. Wish I had a more confident take.

      1. Thanks for the reply. I feel the same way as you, but Iโ€™ll recheck the rankings and go from there. Iโ€™m ready to fire up Lavishka.

  9. .5PPR

    Mike Gesicki or TJ Hockenson

    1. They are basically tied in our rankings, I like Gesicki more, Byron likes Hock more. Gesicki 21% target share and has run 59 routes to Hock’s 28. Gesicki with the No.2 matchup versus the No.12 matchup for Hock. I say Gesicki, but between Byron myself and the model it basically has them tied with a slight nod to Hock. So, maybe lean to Hock and fade me ๐Ÿ˜‰ /

      1. Haha thank you Alex. I keep going back and forth.

  10. Post By rickymurawski@gmail.com

So I have DJ Chark who is out, Im playing Gallup in my open WR Slot.

Should I drop, Dobbins, Crowder or Kelley and grab Keelan Cole for tonight or should I just leave Gallup in?

    1. leave in Gallup and don’t even talk about dropping guys like Kelley for scrubs like that. Especially in a week where he has a matchup like this.

  11. .5ppr

    flex

    gurley hollywood devante parker

    1. I usually go RB in flex when we’re talking RB2 vs WR2 options so I’m going Gurley.

  12. Start Brees or on waivers Herbert,Trubisky,Fitz.,Burrow? Iโ€™m 0-2

    1. like Burrow as much or more than Brees this week. Hang in there.

  13. Flex rankings has ODB rated higher than M Gordon, is ODB the play? It’s hard to trust the over rated Mayfield. And not to mention he just flat out sucks….
Also at TE Junno or Cook?
    Thanks

    1. Odell does not flat out suck. We have Melvin with a 1.5 point higher projection in our model. Horrible matchup tho.

      1. Thanks I’ll go with ODB, so what about Junno and Cook who would you go with?

  14. Hey!

I need to start two out of these 5.

Fournette, Gibson, Boyd, Dobbins, Mike Williams?

    1. I”d go Fournette and Tyler Boyd.

  15. Tough choice here for last roster spot in standard scoring: sheet says to go with Ingram but my gut says to go with Kelley. Those two plus Fournette or John Brown

    1. Play Kelley over Ingram for me.

  16. These guys are back to back in flex rankings: Marvin Jones and Fournette. PPR, I think I have to go with MJ, right?

  17. PPR league. 2WR 2RB 1Flex. Any way I should be playing Shenault over Fuller5,
M Jones Jr and DJ Moore?

    Thanks

  18. Not over Moore, but you could consider him over Fuller and/or MJ. We have those three all back to back in rankings WR34-36.

  19. Half point PPR.
    D. PARKER tonight (hammy issue/short week/weak passing JAX D)
    or
DJ MOORE (safer play/LAC D that made Mahomes and the Chiefs looks pretty mediocre)

    Thanks!

    1. Moore, should still see a lot of volume, especially with no CMC around. Represents a higher floor considering Parker’s chances of reinjuring himself

      1. Thanks Trashman!

  20. .5 ppr flex question
    D Parker
    A Gibson
    Shenualt
    Slayton
    D Henderson

      1. What about your boy shenault with chark out?!

  21. Post By Polishican@yahoo.com

Chubb or Kelley this week? Iโ€™m worried Chubb looks more like the week 1 Chubb against the Washington front than the week 2 Chubb vs Cincy. While Kelleyโ€™s increased use, likely game script and porous run defense of Carolina makes it very enticing? Am I crazy here? Thank you!

    1. You’re not crazy. They’re in similar roles in their offenses. If you can actually consider sitting Chubb, then the rest of your team must be pretty solid. I’d go Chubb if you’re content with a decent floor, Kelley if you need the upside. If the Chargers somehow get down, Kelley probably won’t see much action.

      1. Post By Polishican@yahoo.com

Thanks. Other RBโ€™s are Cook and Taylor. Itโ€™s a 10 team league. WRโ€™s are Ridley, Evans, and D. Parker. Bench is Gallup, Kelley, Anderson, Lazard, Dobbins. Brees for QB. Though Iโ€™m considering throwing in the towel on him for Tannehill or Big Ben. Trying to trade for Rodgers too – No luck on that yet.

  22. Ppr do you think with chark out, that shenault might be a better option that Gurley or David Montgomery in flex?

    1. I know this was last night but I certainly would have suggested the RB. What did you end up doing?

      1. I kept the RB’s

  23. PPR flex, Need one:

    Antonio Gibson
    Jeff Wilson
    Cooper Kupp
    David Johnson
    N’Keal Harry

    Thanks

    1. So many great options. You need to get your league to allow more starters next year!

That Gibson breakout is coming. May want to slide him in. Wilson could be in line for 20 carries too. With a 20% chance to get this right, don’t get upset if this goes sideways, just pick the one you can live with! Good luck!

  24. Godwin is low on your FLEX List Trashman This week I should really play my other receivers (Ridley, JuJuSS, RWoods and Lamb) over him? PPR

    1. I can’t speak for Trash, but you might need a “show me game” from Godwin before you play him considering you have rock solid options. If he goes off on your bench…great, at least you know he is back. You can gamble on him, but play it safe with your rock solid WRs. Keep an eye on JJSS, missed a practice

  25. Post By ryan.whitford@icloud.com

Here I sit struggling to decide between Fournette and Marvin Jones in the Flex and can’t differentiate… what do you know… you have them at 61 & 62! At least you have them close too… I was about to s F it and just throw Josh Kelly at the problem but thought I’d see if you had something that could help and sure enough you do… so… I guess I will go with Fournette with a ton of conviction maybe I guess… although I do like Josh Kelly going against the Panthers… all that said, Marvin Jones always plays big when he is on my bench so you all should start him this week.

    1. Ryan:

All great options. Tampa has given all indications LF role is going to grow every week. I’d feel good about rolling I’m out there. Good luck!

  26. Half pt PPR

    E. Engram
    Or
    D. Sample

    Thank you!

    1. Engram is in a great spot this week. 2 of the primary Giant pass targets are out (Sterling Sjhep and Barkley) He is set up for success. That is where I would lean

  27. gaskins in on WW, i would have to drop antonio gibson or d freeman to pick him up. worth either one?

    1. Absolutely keep Gibson! Since Gaskins has already played,I would not do anything at the moment since you can’t pick him up until next week anyway unless players don’t lock in your league after their games start.

Either way,I would wait until we see what the Giants do with Freeman. And while I loved the amount of touches Gaskins got,his YPA was pretty gross.

  28. hey guys, I’m in a 10 tm ppr and im having to decide between McKinnon, Mike Davis or Kelley. all match ups seem ok on paper. how would you decide?

    1. These start/sits are extremely difficult to nail. Goes without saying but urge your league to expand to more active roster spots. But back to your issue. I think Kelly represents the highest floor and ceiling of this group. He has already earned Melvoin Gordon’s 2019 role.

  29. Post By timraytx@yahoo.com

Std 1pt PPR league…need to pick 2 RBs and 2 WRs and a flex.

    RBs:
    Miles Sanders – start
    Austin Ekeler – start??
    Joe Mixon – bad matchup?
Leonard Fournette – was last week a fluke?
Joshua Kelly – who gets more touches???

    WRs:
    Calvin Ridley – yes
    DJ Moore – ??
    Robert Woods — ?
    Marvin Jones Jr

I’m 0-2 in my league but the 3rd highest scorer in the league so really need to get on the winning side.

    1. You have it right

      Sanders and AE

Ridley is auto-locked into your lineup and I like Moore a lot with CMC out for the count

      1. Post By timraytx@yahoo.com

So then who for the flex…out of the remaining optios…woods, mixon or fournette? Or other…btw – I picked up Corey Davis this week so have him as a flex option as well.

        Thanks for the validation.

        1. I’d go Mixon. Woods is going to see some TreDavius White,so lower the expectations there. I know Mixon owners are really frustrated right now,but better days are ahead for him for sure.

  30. Full PPR, 12 teamed

    QB: Minshew, Tannehill

RB: Chubb, Mixon, Robinson, Monty, Akers

WR: Evans, Godwin, Allen, Chark, Slayton, AJB

Is Chubb and AJB for Clyde too much to give up? I’m 0-2 and looking at 0-3 after the Minshew debacle last night. At least I started Robinson also to keep me somewhat afloat. Burrow is also on waivers and am thinking about picking him up and dropping Tannehill or maybe Minshew after this week. Good move there?

    1. Tannehill is on fire right now. A QB1.

I can see why you want to trade away AJB, but let see if he comes back this week or next.

  31. David Johnson @ PIT over Melvin Gordon vs TB? Do you start Joshua Kelley over either of those two this week?

    1. Melvin is going to get heavy usage. I’d lean there, but all solid options

    2. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

I’m in the same boat between Gordon and Kelley, and I’ve got Ekeler to boot.

I’ve told myself that I can’t ignore the 35 carries to date from Kelley, and I can’t ignore Gordon’s heavy usage. But Tampa has a strong front line, and I would expect them to stack the box and make Driskill beat them in the air.

I might flip-flop five more times before Sunday, but I’m currently leaning Kelley.

      I don’t want to diminish Alan’s words there ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Is it trippy that I’m a UT alum named Alan who also has Ekeler?

  32. I need to sit 1, Golladay, Diontae Johnson or Hollywood Brown.

    1. If fully healthy,Golladay is a no brainer,but…..he is not. So even if he plays, you could get the ol’ banana in the tailpipe.

  33. Don’t need them to start, but are Ruggs, Reagor, and Jamal Williams all droppable to pick up Golden Tate and Curtis Samuel (in case Samuel starts getting valuable RB touches)?

    1. You could drop Williams for either or if you have an IR slot, you can put Reagor on it,drop Williams, and pick up both players.

    team honeybadgers…record 0-2
    f gore or j wilson for rb2
    ppr 12 team..and i know yuk

  35. Deciding between Lenny Fournette and Joshua Kelly for my flex in ppr. The sheet has Lenny 12 spots higher, you guys hearing that heโ€™ll be starting over Ronald Jones? I was dead set on Kelly vs the Panthers until now..

  36. Post By mchen11988@gmail.com

am i crazy for wanting to start singletary over chubb this week? .5 ppr

  37. My team is 0-2 in a full point ppr. Once again a slight underdog in week 3 (5 pts). Current lineup: QB Brady,
RBs A. Jones, A. Eckeler, WRs A. Robinson, CeeDee Lamb, TE Ertz, Flex M. Davis. Options to replace with:
    J. Herbert at QB, Flexes: Marquis Brown, Josh Kelly, Drew Sample. My gut tells me to start Herbert over Brady and Kelly over Davis. This would create a “too many eggs in one basket” scenerio in my opinion. Your thoughts?

  38. Small 8 team .5pt superflex
J Kelley on ww. Would you drop JK Dobbins or D Freeman to add him?
    Thanks Byron

  39. Ppr need one Ingram, Kelley, Hollywood or Dionte Johnson?

  40. Good evening,
Full PT. Ppr… Gibson or Slayton?

  41. 1 pt ppr need 2 of these 3. Joe Mixon, David Montgomery, or Joshua Kelley?
