Trashman’s Best Bets to Score: Week 2
Best RB and WR Bets to Score in Week 2
It’s the second week of the NFL season, and scoring is already at a breakneck pace! These players are my best bets to continue the trend at the RB and WR positions in Week 2…
Running Back
Najee Harris, Steelers
Harris wasn’t able to get much going against the Bills in Week 1, as the Bills’ front brought major pressure, but he should have a much better day against the Raiders in Week 2. Las Vegas allowed 2 rushing TDs in Week 1, along with some gashing runs. What Harris has going for him more than anything is his snap count. Harris was on the field for every offensive play the Steelers ran in Week 1, and I don’t expect that to change this week. If the Steelers are in scoring position, Harris will be there.
Nick Chubb, Browns
Chubb is one week in, and he’s already tied for the most rushing TDs(2) in the league. This week he faces a Texans team that allowed 21 rushing TDs in 2020, the most of any team in the NFL. With a 59.70% TD dependency, the highest of any RB with more than 10 touches in Week 1, Chubb is primed to score in Week 2.
Aaron Jones, Packers
Jones and the Packers offense were stymied in Week 1 by a formidable Saints defense, but they will face much less resistance this week from a Lions team that was just routed by the 49ers last week. Detroit allowed the 2nd most rushing TDs in 2020(19) and they led in receiving TDs by RBs allowed(10), so to say Jones has a cushy matchup ahead is an understatement.
Alvin Kamara, Saints
2020’s TD(21) leader, Kamara will continue to buoy the Saints offense this season, especially with Michael Thomas out for half of it. Kamara goes up against a Panthers defense this week that was in the top 10 for opposing RBs last season, giving up 14 scores in 2020. With a TD dependency of 39.74% after just the first week of play, Kamara is in good shape to reach the end-zone at least once in Week 2.
Darrell Henderson, Rams
Najee Harris was the only RB to play more snaps than Henderson in week 1, as the 3rd year Ram played 94% of his team’s offensive snaps. The Rams play the Colts this week, a team that is historically stout against the run, but Indy allowed a healthy 5.7 yards-per-carry average to Chris Carson so Henderson should have some room to run. With a 40.82% TD dependency going into Week 2, Henderson makes for a strong bet to score.
Wide Receiver
D.K. Metcalf, Seahawks
Tied for 6th in receiving TDs(10) in 2020, Metcalf is off to a fast start this season having already scored in Week 1. This week, he’ll face a Titans team that just gave up a league high 4 receiving TDs against the Cardinals, so with a TD dependency of 50% he’s a shoe-in to hit paydirt.
Adam Thielen, Vikings
Justin Jefferson may be the 1A in the Vikings’ receiving corps, but Thielen is the trusted red-zone target, scoring twice already in Week 1 – It helps that TE Irv Smith is out for the season. With a TD dependency of 56.6%, and being on the field 94% of snaps in Week 1, Thielen is as strong a bet to score as you can get going into Week 2.
Allen Robinson, Bears
Robinson started his 2021 season slowly, but all that will change in Week 2 when the Bears go up against a Bengals team that allowed the 5th most TDs(20) to receivers in 2020. Cincinnati has already given up another 2 receiving TDs in Week 1, and with QB Andy Dalton feeling the heat from rookie QB Justin Fields, expect the Bears to come out swinging this week. Robinson played over 90% of his team’s snaps in Week 1, so expect his number to get called early and often.
Keenan Allen, Chargers
No team allowed more TDs(27) to receivers in 2020 than the Cowboys, and that’s the team that Allen and company are facing at home in LA this week. With 13 looks in Week 1, Allen will continue to be a target monster in this week against a Cowboys secondary that still hasn’t found its footing, if their high-scoring tilt with the Buccaneers is any indication. Chalk Allen up for one score and maybe more in Week 2.
DeAndre Hopkins, Cardinals
Hopkins scored twice in Week 1 against an overmatched Titans secondary, and he’ll continue to roll in Week 2 against a Vikings team that just allowed 22 catches, 250 yards and 2 TDs to the Bengals last week. With a TD dependency of 59.11%, and the hottest QB in the NFL going into Week 2, Hopkins makes for a potential scoring machine this week and many more to come.

Thanks Trashman! Have a potential PPR trade request – I was offered James Robinson and Mark Andrews for Mike David OR Gordan III. I have Pitts, but if the RBs cancel each other out, I have a top TE that I can use or trade later. Thoughts? Thanks in advance, and good luck this weekend.
Hey DJ. I would make that deal. James Robinson is the superior back to Mike Davis & MG3.
Thanks Ani!
Would you drop Latavius for Rountree? .5 ppr
No. Keep Latavius.
Ppr. I got saquon as my Rb2. Should I sit him this week and put in michale carter or eli mitchel or should I keep saquon in and pray?
I would probably sit him for Mitchell if it sounds like Eli is going to get the lead
Flex Question
Should I start Thielen, Woods or Jacobs. I have Thielen starting right now.
Also at QB, Tannahil or Hurst? I have Hurst starting Rigby now.
Thanks, Guillaume
I’d start Thielen
I’d probably start Hurts
Is it just me or is Gruden getting a free pass for trotting Mariota out for one play, running him, and getting him knocked out the game + many more games? They’re calling it a quad injury. He got face planted. It looked like a concussion.
So that’s how Vegas feels about Gruden!! LOL. He was trying to be like Shanahan and ended up. more like Nagy
Byron, Exactly right. Last year Nagy did the same thing to Mitchell Trubisky. There was a stretch when Nick Foles was starting and he put Trubisky in for quarterback sneak and he got injured and missed several weeks.
1 pt. PPR, What level WR can I get for Elijah Miller. Godwin? My WR’s are Aiyuk, Chase, Calloway, Pitman and Reagor. Maybe ARob or Keenan Allen if I ad 1 of my WR’s.
no way they’ll come off godwin for that. you might be able to get ARob if you pair with another wr, but even that is dicey. you need to offer for a wr that underperformed in wk 1 like ARob, best case, or maybe someone like sutton.
What’s up RW nation! … 12-team, 0.5 PPR, 0-1:
QBs: Mahomes, Fields
RBs: Kamara, Sanders, Conner
WRs: Jefferson, Sutton, OBJ, Pittman, Marquise
TE: Andrews
K: Butcker
DST: Ravens
I’m being offered a couple of trades:
Team 1. Brandin Cooks for Courtland Sutton
Team 2. Aaron Jones and Diontae Johnson for Alvin Kamara
Team 3. DJ Moore and Robert Tonyan for Mark Andrews
Hypothetically, I could go ahead and go through with all of them. Which ones do you guys like, if any?
The way I’m thinking is that if TRADE 2 goes through, then TRADE 3 is a no since I wouldn’t have a need for a WR2 anymore (it probably is a good idea to say no anyway). TRADE 1 really is a toss up. What do you guys think?
i’m most amenable to the 3rd. could possibly go for the second as well
Best bet to score is take trash cans mom over to a jimmy john’s for a couple of #7s
Well seeing as she’s confined to a hospital bed that might be hard Frank
What’s up!
Quick WR2 question in a .5ppr 10 teamer – need to start one of these: McLaren or M Evans? (Swift is my flex)
Thank you RW Nation!
Auto fill!!! McLaurin
Shrewd move!
Antonio Gibson is a disaster! Excluded from 3rd down work, his value in my mind is minimal and he is no longer startable. Am I too pessimistic? Is there any hope for Antonio ? thanks
I think the flow of the game dictated Gibson’s usage. It would be a crime to abandon him this early.
What do you think about this trade? Miles sanders and jamarr chase for Barkley. Sanders is my only RB other than Michael carter and my WR are Tyreek dhop Lockett Julio and jamarr
Too rich for my blood. Chase looks like he might be the no.1 in Cincy.
Absolutely not
PPR. Start Hunt over Mike Davis with Chubb as my other RB starter?
Thanks
Yea I would
Flex spot ppr who should I go with?
Sutton or Elijah missle mitchel? Or should I go with Hollywood brown?
Mitchell
I just dropped BJarwin and picked up Henry in NE after reading the Jonnu news (my TE is a disaster this year).
Any thoughts on that?
Also reading that Ebron in PIT may not play and does that elevate Freiermuth to any significance?
Yeah that would make Freiermuth a decent option. Like the Henry pick up if Jonnu is out too.
Hey guys, someone dropped Tyler Boyd in my league. Was going to drop Bryan Edwards for him. Was thinking of putting in 18% for FAAB. Too much or too little?
Current WRs
Calvin Ridley, Scary Terry, Lockett, Jakobi, Rondale Moore.
Thanks!
Think you can get him for 5% less- and if you don’t we don’t mind keeping Edwards
Help! PPR. I’ve been offered saquan for t sermon and Elijah Mitchell. My other RB is Zeke.
Would probably take it
I have a few roster questions..
– Lamb or Landry
– Hunt or T Williams, J Williams, Hines
– I need 2 Aiyuks, Dillon, Gainwell, T Jones Jr, Gage
– Need 1 J Robinson, Evans, Meyers, Reagor.
Thanks RW
Lamb
Prob Hunt or Javonte (lean Hunt in ppr)
Gainwell + not sure on the other- Dillon is interesting in this potential blowout-
– Mike Evans
Looking for some advise
Need some QB help
Bridgewater, Ryan, Mayfield or Wentz ?
Also at RB S Michel or Sermon ?
Thanks!
i like teddy, sermon
Hey guys could use your help on this start decision. Full point PPR need to start 2 of these 3 at WR.
Amari Cooper
Adam Theilan
Mike Evans
Thanks!
cooper, thielen
12 team PPR, I need to drop one to pick up a kicker: Ingram II, Latavius Murray, Shenault. All are at the bottom of my bench. Thanks!
i’d drop murray
Start sit question please
RB2
Lat Murray, Serman, or Ingram
Thank you!
Thanks Trashman!!
I have Kmet. Would you trade M Hardman for Jared cook? Or I could drop Hardman for Hunter Henry. Then see which TE pans out.
trashman

thanks as always
Lone Wolf
