Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 11

Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 11

Of course a healthy Cooper Kupp had zero fantasy points. Of course Peyton Barber tied Ronald Jones for carries. It wouldn’t be the 2019 fantasy season without head scratchers like these and more. We’ll find a way forward as we go over the fallout…

Chargers – 24 @ Raiders – 26

  • Austin Ekeler was out touched 23 to 8 by Melvin Gordon on Thursday, managing to save his fantasy day by catching a 6 yard score. The scheme is trending more towards what it used to be when Gordon was king. The Chargers have KC this week, but I might try trading Ekeler before the deadline. I’m not optimistic about his ROS outlook.

  • I would also try to trade for Keenan Allen. He’s still not blowing up the field, but he did have 11 targets this game, and that kind of action should continue moving forward.

  • Just looking at the box score, it would be difficult to tell the Raiders won, as no player had more than 45 yards receiving and Josh Jacobs only had 71 yards on the ground. The defense won the game. Phillip Rivers shot-putted the ball into Raiders defenders hands on 3 occasions, with 115 yards worth of returns.

Lions – 13 @ Bears – 20

  • J.D. McKissic(16 tou, 55 yards) took over the Lions backfield with Ty Johnson going down to a first half concussion. Even if Johnson returns this week, I like McKissic in fantasy, as he’s utilized more often in the passing game, getting 7 targets to 1 each for Johnson and Paul Perkins

  • Matt Stafford has a broken back, so don’t be surprised if he misses Week 11 against Dallas. Jeff Driskel was serviceable in this one, leading the team in rushing with 37 yards and a 19 point day in fantasy. His mobility makes him a shaky but passable streamer this week.

  • Turning those tvs off in the locker must have done something for Mitch Trubisky, as he had his best game of the season on Sunday. He still only had 173 yards passing, but those 3 TDs were helpful. Don’t expect him to follow suit against the Rams this week.

  • Tarik Cohen(7 tou, 37 yards, 1 TD) also had his best game of the season on Sunday. He’s a back end flex this week in a game in which the Bears are going to have to utilize all of their weapons to stay afloat.

Ravens – 49 @ Bengals – 13

  • Nick Boyle(4/78) has scored in each of his last two games. With no one really contributing in the Ravens passing game behind Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown, there’s some room for Boyle to flourish. He’s got a decent matchup with the Texans this week.

  • New Bengals QB Ryan Finley doesn’t like Alex Erickson nearly as much as Andy Dalton did. In fact, he doesn’t like any of his receivers as much as he does Joe Mixon who touched the ball 32 times, even when they were trailing massively. Mixon is going to get fed from here on out, and everyone else will take what they can get – which probably isn’t much.

Bills – 16 @ Browns – 19

  • Dawson Knox had 6 rec for 55 yards in this one, his best game in 7 weeks. I’d say he’s worth a shot against Miami this week, but he only had 2 rec for 22 yards against them in their first meeting this season.

  • Kareem Hunt wasn’t eased into the lineup at all for the Browns on Sunday, playing on about half the offensive plays. He also came in 3rd in targets behind Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham with 9, so it’s safe to say he’s going to be a major party of the offense moving forward.

Panthers – 16 @ Packers – 24

  • Kyle Allen isn’t that good a fantasy QB, but he is pretty efficient at spreading the ball around. I feel safe playing all of his starters, just not him – though he does have a tasty matchup with Atlanta this week.

  • Allen Lazard looks like the no.2 WR in Green Bay right now, but that isn’t amounting to much. With a bye and the SF coming up, I’m in no hurry to add him.

Falcons – 26 @ Saints – 9

  • Devonta Freeman went down to an ankle sprain on Sunday and was replaced by Brian Hill who went on to pick up 71 yards and a TD. Hill will be a premier waiver add this week in the event that Freeman can’t go.

  • Latavius Murray‘s almost 30 point swing from Week 8 to Week 10(Week 9 was a bye) is depressing, though he did out-carry Alvin Kamara 5 to 4. I wouldn’t drop him just yet unless you have to, but his drop in usage is discouraging.

  • Jared Cook(6/74) had 10 targets on the day, and he’ll be a TE1 moving forward. He’s only owned in 65% of leagues right now, so add him if you need TE help.

Giants – 27 @ Jets – 34

  • Darius Slayton(10/121/2) went big with Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram out and a big deficit early. Shepard may get shut down, so Slayton makes for a good stash even in his bye week. His ceiling is sky high.

  • Chris Herndon is looking at an extended absence(ribs) and could be out for the rest of the fantasy season. He’s droppable everywhere.

Cardinals – 27 @ Buccaneers – 30

  • David Johnson doesn’t look right, and his fantasy output is indicative of that. He looked stiff as a board, and Kenyan Drake had a much better day – well kind of. Chase Edmonds could be back this week, throwing this backfield into a true timeshare. This is a situation to avoid.

  • Christian Kirk is starting to get hot at the right time, but so is Andy Isabella(3/78) to a lesser extent. Isabella had a season high in targets(3), catches(3) and snaps(26). Isabella is worth an add in deeper formats with David Johnson struggling.

  • Just when you thought Peyton Barber was down for the count, he staggers back to his feet and matches Ronald Jones in carries(11), even out gaining him on the ground. Jones had 7 more targets, Ugh, it’s back to a timeshare in Tampa.

  • O.J. Howard(4/47/1) had his best game of the season, but that’s not surprising against the Cardinals. I don’t expect him to fare so well against the Saints who he had i catch for 10 yards against in their first meeting.

Chiefs – 32 @ Titans – 35

  • LeSean McCoy was a healthy scratch in this one, as the team alleged they want him “healthy” down the stretch. Seems unlikely, but it just adds to the frustration as he can’t be dropped yet then. You can’t play him either though.

  • Even with McCoy sitting, Darrel Williams(3/19) got little love. He’s best left on the wire.

  • Mecole Hardman had a decent line, but it all came on one play. He’s best left to DFS tourneys right now.

  • Derrick Henry was the Titans offense in this one with 23 touches for 191 yards and 2 TD. One other player had more than 36 yards, and that was Kalif Raymond who had a single reception for 52 yards.

Dolphins – 16 @ Colts – 12

  • Kalen Ballage had 45 yards on a whopping 24 touches Sunday, in a staggering display of inefficiency. The closest thing to competition though was Pat Laird who had 2 carries for 4 yards. Ballage will remain the bellcow. Just don’t expect much from him.

  • TE Mike Gesicki(3/28) was 2nd in targets behind DeVante Parker with 6. It was a poor showing, but he projects to be the no.2 passing option in Miami this week.

  • Miami was bad, but the Colts, Brian Hoyer in particular, were worse. Hoyer(18/214/1/3) is destined for the bench in Week 11, and even if he makes another start, he’s not worth streaming against Jacksonville.

Rams – 12 @ Steelers – 17

  • Gerald Everett(8/68) led the team with 12 targets, as a checkdown for the faltering Goff. He’s a solid start as long as Goff struggles.

  • James Washington led the Steelers in receiving for the 2nd straight week. I would read more into this, but Mason Rudolph‘s choices in the passing game seem to change every few games. Diontae Johnson was his fav not long ago, and now he’s 2nd or 3rd in the pecking order. No Steelers WR is better than a flex right now.

  • The Steelers will try anybody at RB it seems, with Tony Brookes-James getting 6 carries to Jaylen Samuels‘ 14 on the day. Hopefully James Conner returns this week and puts all of this to bed.

Vikings – 28 @ Cowboys – 24

  • It was all Dalvin Cook and Alex Mattison for the Vikings on Sunday night, with no other Vikings player adding more than 49 yards on the night. Kyle Rudolph did score twice, but he’s ruthlessly TD dependent, and Adam Thielen‘s soon return could knock him out of relevancy.

  • Randall Cobb(6/106/1) had his best game of the season on Sunday night. He’s had 8 targets in his last 2 games, making him worth a deep league flex in PPR formats against the Lions this week.

After a trade my current roster is :
    Qb- Allen and Brissett
Hb – Chubb , Jones and singletary
Wr – Adams (newly acquired ) Moore , hill , Godwin , Mike Williams and Robby Anderson
    Te – Mark Andrews

Might now trade Moore and Jones for Barkley and gallman

Thoughts on Barkley after his recent comments?

    1. if you can get barkley with that, i’d go for it. I’m not too worried about him. the upside is worth the risk

Have Josh Allen….good idea to pick up Nick Foles for week 12 and 13 where he plays Tenn and TB and Josh Allen plays Den and Dallas?

  3. Trashman, Between FP’s and RotoW your recap is by far the best!!!
    Thank you.
    Mike

    1. But you’re missing the nice click bait 😉

    2. Thanks for the boost Mike! Mondays are a long haul to find the less traveled takes. should probably rethink my approach, ha.

Need help down the stretch here…
QB – Brees or Brady? Better matchup for Brees but last week’s performance has me leery of him
Flex – Fournette, Ridley, Landry or Sutton?

    PPR & 20 points per rush/receiving yard

Already have T. Hill and Edelman at starting WRs and McCaffrey & Gordon at RB.

    Thanks in advance!

    1. brees if you want the upside, brady if you think you can win with his mid-teen floor. fournette in the flex

Thank you Trashman! Exactly how I had it set based off my research on your site.

Now i’m thinking of streaming NYJ D/ST over LAC D/ST – thoughts on that one?

  5. After all the talk about not being worried about KHunt, should Chubb owners now be concerned?

  6. i don’t think so. he still had 22 touches on sunday. his issue is that he hasn’t had opportunities to score. i think hunt makes the offense more dynamic and will put them in scoring position more often.
