Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 15

trashman-editHopefully you don’t need to wipe the tears from your eyes to read this, unless they’re tears of joy. Here’s the fallout going into Week 15 my friends..

Steelers vs Bills

  • I guess it’s safe to say that if you’re reading this there’s more than a good chance you’re a Bell owner. He put together a game on Sunday that would make LaDainian Tomlinson raise an eyebrow, accounting for more offense than the rest of his team combined. A ceiling like this is why Bell was so high on the draft cheat sheet even after we knew he was going to miss games.
  • You’re still going to play him, but Brown has historically been pedestrian against the Bengals. Just keep that in mind when setting the rest of your team.
  • Green had a down game, but he was still second in targets(6) behind Brown.
  • Watkins is set on continuing to play, despite the BIlls being out of playoff contention. That’s great news for his owners throughout the playoffs.

Broncos vs Titans

Within a score!! #DENvsTEN

A photo posted by Denver Broncos (@broncos) on

  • That was quick. Forsett has already leapfrogged Booker for the starting job in Denver. Supposedly, Booker is worn out from two offseason surgeries. I don’t know how excited I am about using Forsett throughout these playoffs, but I’m certain I want no part of Booker.
  • The lack of a power running game has made Denver into a passing offense. This bodes well for Thomas and Sanders this week.
  • As expected, the Titans’ WRs got nothing going against Denver’s secondary. They’ll have a slightly easier time against KC this week.

Redskins vs Eagles

  • I’d like to say that Reed will be a solid play this week against the Panthers, but I’m just not sure that’s the case. He seems to still be feeling the effects of an injured shoulder.
  • Garcon has consistently led the ‘Skins in targets in recent weeks and makes for a high floor play this week, especially with Reed still ailing.
  • Jackson might have just been flexing against his former team, but his ceiling makes him a more than reasonable play against the big play leaking Panther secondary.
  • Mathews was back in the saddle against Washington with 15 carries. Will it continue this week? Maybe, but the Eagles play the Ravens so it’s not necessarily the week I would want to risk playing him.
  • As long as the Eagles are committed to this small ball offense, both of their TEs make for decent starts. Ertz, especially, makes for a strong TE1 if DGB doesn’t return this week.

Cardinals vs Dolphins

❗️❗️❗️❗️

A photo posted by Miami Dolphins (@miamidolphins) on

  • I wouldn’t go chasing Nelson’s big day out. He had 1 target aside from his 56 yard TD run.
  • Jermaine Gresham had 7 targets on Sunday, good for third best behind Fitz and DJ. He makes for an intriguing streamer versus the Saints this week.
  • Tannehill is likely lost for the rest of the regular season with a sprained MCL/ACL, significantly diminishing the value of all Dolphins receivers. Landry remains playable as a potential safety blanket for Matt Moore, but Stills and Parker are big question marks.

Chargers vs Panthers

  • Gordon is full of sprains(knee/hip), and looks unlikely to play this week. Kenneth Farrow struggles in pass protection, but he should see the bulk of action this week should Gordon sit. Ronnie Hillman will pick up the slack.
  • You should probably get Inman in your lineups this week against the Raiders if you’re looking for a low risk/high reward flex.
  • Newton has been a shadow of his former self over the last month, completing less than 50% of his passes. I’m only playing him as a last resort this and/or next week.
  • Ginn Jr. is the Panthers de facto no.1 WR, even after a clunker in week 14.

Bengals vs Browns

Tyler Boyd 750

  • The Bengals receivers couldn’t get much going against the lowly Browns, which gives me pause on starting any of them against the Steelers this week – a matchup that rarely yields much fantasy production on either wide. Hill and Eifert are the only Bengals I’m flirting with.
  • RG3 looked like a QB who hadn’t seen game action in 3 months on Sunday. Crowell is the only Brown you can feel safe with in week 15.

Bears vs Lions

  • Matt Barkley actually seems more competent under center than Cutler has this season. It’s still impossible to tell which no name receiver will lead in targets each week. Howard is still the only startable Bear.
  • Riddick is uncertain for Week 15, making Washington a good bet for double-digit touches and flex consideration.

Texans vs Colts

  • A trained chimp could do the job Osweiler is doing under center. Even against a horrendous Jaguars team, any Texans player who relies on receptions is shaky at best.
  • Miller missed a couple of drives but managed to come out of Week 14 largely unscathed. Alfred Blue isn’t worth considering in any format this week.
  • Allen’s monstrous Week 13 was merely a mirage. He’s staying on your bench against the Vikings.
  • The Colts signed Devin Street off their practice squad Monday, hinting that Moncrief won’t be available this and perhaps next week. Make other plans for your playoff run.

Vikings vs Jaguars

All about the 🏈 #Skol

A photo posted by Minnesota Vikings (@vikings) on

  • I normally stay away from the Vikings running game post-AP, but after seeing what the Texans did to the Colts this past week, Asiata looks like a reasonable play in most formats. I always like him over McKinnon.
  • Thielen has outperformed Diggs over the past 3 weeks. I’m not saying you should sit Diggs, but Thielen should be started against the Colts this week.
  • Lee continues to be the Jags best option in the passing game. I even think he’s a safe play against the Texans, as he’s not an outside receiver.

Jets vs 49ers

  • Bilal Powell should be your first choice on waivers tonight. He’s likely to provide most of the offense for the Jets this week.
  • Petty continues to focus on Robby Anderson, who was the recipient of 11 targets in Week 14. It’s crazy to think he’s a more solid play than Marshall or Enunwa, but it’s a fact. The second team doctrine is real.
  • As if you needed to narrow down your 49ers fantasy focus, Vance McDonald has been placed on I.R. Hyde is the only 49er that exists as far as fantasy is concerned.

Buccaneers vs Saints

Noah Spence 750

  • The Tampa defense is playing out of their minds right now. Even against Dallas, their floor should be solid.
  • Sims got the action over Rodgers and is worth flex consideration in PPR formats.
  • Losing Thomas in Week 14 may have ruined a few teams’ chances, but he was close to playing and should be questionable at worst going into Week 15.

Falcons vs Rams

  • Freeman disappeared in this one, as the Falcons had a nice lead and rested their starters later in the game. I can’t say that the same scenario won’t happen against the 49ers this week.
  • For the same reason, I don’t see the Falcons rushing back Jones to the lineup this week. Could be another major day for Taylor Gabriel.
  • The Rams are playing Seattle this week, so there is little reason to mention any of their skill players, especially on the week of a coaching change. Gurley is worth a flex, but I’m not expecting much out of him.

Seahawks vs Green Bay

  • Wilson was a hot mess on the road against a normally underwhelming Packers secondary, but he has a bounce back opportunity with the Rams this week. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ‘Hawks stick to the ground in this one though.
  • Alex Collins showed up in the box score thanks to a blowout loss. He won’t be an option this week.
  • Michael ended up with more carries due to the blowout, but Ty Montgomery is the Packers’ lead back.

Cowboys vs Giants

  • Dak struggled in this one which is understandable, he is still a rookie despite not playing like it most of the time. The Cowboys are probably going to make it easy on him this week and gameplan to feed Zeke all day.
  • Perkins and Jennings had identical carries, yards on the ground, and YPC in Week 14. Jennings retains a slight edge going into Week 15.

Ravens vs Patriots

  • Dixon is now the guy in Baltimore. He out-touched West 19 to 5 against the Pats and was the more effective back. He actually led the team in targets(11).
  • I’d like to say that both Hogan and Mitchell are worth starting going into Week 15, but you can’t really trust any WRs against Denver. I’m more bullish on White and Lewis this week, as backs have a much easier time.

  1. Yo guys… Missed you last week – need to start two of these five in a PPR that gives bonus points for long tds.

    DJax vs Carolina
    Crowder vs Carolina
    J. Howard vs GB
    R. Matthews @ KC
    M.Mitchell @ Denver

    1. Howard and Mitchell just seems too hot to sit. Plus he has Gronks bionic arm.

      1. If there is a week to tap brakes on MM, it’s this week. And, I was telling you guys he was a WR1 last week. Nobody loves him more than us. Think you have to consider DJax, maybe Rishard over him. Let’s see the matchup tool tomorrow. Howard for sure

        1. Should I be benching Rawls for any of these????

  2. edleman or crowder?

    1. Edelman. Target monster.

      1. agree

  3. I need to fill two flex spots with the following. I’m going to be the favorite, but it should be a pretty close line. PPR. Please help…

    Watkins
    T.coleman
    Richard Mathews
    Ryan Mathews
    Justin forsett
    Lafell
    Potentially farrow.

Also, do we trust Carr to rebound with the finger issue? Got a waiver on Palmer, Eli and Bradford in that order.

    1. Coleman and Watkins. Re fire Carr out there.

      1. Tevin for sure- I think you will have to consider Ryan Mathews over Watkins if Smallwood and sproles are banged up.

  4. Thanks for the work, fellas.

Full point PPR. I need two:
    Tyrell Williams
    Jarvis Landry
    Jamison Crowder
    Steve Smith, Sr.

    Also, Roethlisberger or Mariota?

    Thanks.

    1. Sr + TWill

      BB

  5. PPR, need 3

    Tate
    Mitchell
    Snead
    Moncrief
    Marshall
    Crowell
    Lewis

Plus available on waivers Garcon, Inman, Thielen

Thinking Tate, Mitchell and Garcon but need a second opinion with Den match up. Though Brady looks determined to crush all in his path

Thanks guys. You’ve been so much help this year.

    1. i’d go tate, crowell, inman. good luck

      1. Thanks Trashman!

In first place in my big money league and you guys have been killing it for me this year.

  6. 10 team PPR

    [1] QB: Brees
[3] WR: OBJ, Evans, Cooper (Mitchell, Crowder)
[2] RB: Howard, Miller (Gurley, Hightower)
    [1] TE: Walker (L. Green)
    [1] W/R/T: Diggs
    DEF: Chiefs
    Bench total: (5)

Up by 15 entering the 2nd week of my semifinal matchup! Couldn’t get Powell (my opponent did) or Farrow but luckily my opponent who is a Gordon owner didn’t get him either so now the question is do I drop anyone (leaning Hightower?) for Asiata or Dixon or even Ryan Mathews who is available? I probably won’t start any of them anyway in a win or go home but also not sure who the best FLEX play is this week!

Or maybe drop someone and use that spot for a different DEF like the Texans vs. JAX or just roll with the Chiefs vs. TEN?

    1. i’d drop hightower for dixon.

  7. Couple DEF questions pertaining to my other leagues where I’m also in the semis!

    1) In a league where DEF is heavily penalized in points against (see below) and 1 pt for sacks, 3 pts for interceptions, and 2 pts for fumble recoveries do I roll with the Falcons again vs. SF or pick up either the Giants vs. DET or Texans vs. JAX?

    Points Allowed 0 points: 25
    Points Allowed 1-6 points: 20
    Points Allowed 7-13 points: 15
    Points Allowed 14-20 points: 10
    Points Allowed 21-27 points: 0
    Points Allowed 28-34 points: -6
    Points Allowed 35+ points: -10
    Extra Point Returned: 2

    2) Standard league where I have the Pats DEF do I roll with them @DEN or pick up and start Giants vs. DET or Texans vs. JAX instead?

In order to play someone other than the Pats I’d have to drop someone from my team below to pivot to another DEF:

    12 Team .5 PPR

    [1] QB: Winston
[3] WR: Ty Williams, T. Hill, D. Jackson (K. Benjamin, Mitchell, Britt)
[2] RB: Gurley, McCoy (Hightower, D. Henry)
    [1] TE: Eifert (Green)
    [1] W/R/T: Farrow
    DEF: Patriots

Sorry for the lengthy questions but need your guidance during the most important time of year!

    1. 1. i’d stay put with atl 2. i’d drop hightower for texans

  8. Would you fine gentlemen (yes you too Mr. Trashman) play Brees at Az or Carr at SD? And if Riddick does not play, would you rather play Farrow or Montgomery in a PPR? Perhaps play either if he does come back due to not being 100%? Plus the Giants D is on fire right now.

And what kind of swindle does Vegas have going on? Mostly low over unders (3 under 40?) followed up with 4 games near or above 50. Haven’t seen that in a while,if ever.

  9. Tyrod or Dak in the semis? help me please.

    1. now I have another dilemma…..crowder, edleman, cooper and farrow. need 2 for wr2 and flex spot?

      1. edelman, cooper, farrow

  10. Inman, Tyrell Williams and Watkins. Need two.

    1. williams and watkins

  11. 1 pt ppr.

    1. Which 2 from Tyreek Hill, Landry, Crowder, Rishard Matthews for WR
    2. Ben (on road @ Cin) or Dalton (@ home) for QB
    3. Rudolph or ladarius green for TE

    Playoff time. Any help appreciated

    1. Hill, crowder, ben, rudolph

      1. Danke!

  12. Howard, Dixon, Farrow, Gurley…..pick 3

    Adams, Inman, Pryor, Jeffrey, M Thomas, D Parker….pick 3

    Both half ppr
    Thanks

    1. howard, farrow, gurley – adams, inman, jeffrey

  13. Awesome, thanks TM. Survived week 14, need 2 WRs and a FLEX from:

AJ Green (trust him if active?), Michael Thomas vs Pat Pete, Tyrell (low targets last 2 weeks, due to injury?), Inman (new #1 in SD?), Thielen, Robby (NYJ), , Charles Sims, Ginn Jr.

    1. ty, thomas, inman or anderson if you don’t want 2 sd wrs

  14. Pick 2: Gore, Crowder, Farrow, Sims, Alshon. (have Bilal in as RB #2 ahead of Gore.)

Pick 2: Farrow, Mike Wallace, Cobb, Robby (NYJ), Charles Sims, K. Benjamin, the Fedora, Witten. 1.5 PPR for TEs.

    Thanks

    1. farrow, gore – farrow, wallace

  15. Ben (@ cin) or Tyrod (vs Cle) or Flacco (vs Phl) for QB. 6 pts for pass or rush or rec TD

  16. Post By Vick's Doggy Daycare

Question #1: Full point PPR, need to start 2 of the following:

    L. Green @CIN
    Walker @KC
    D. Adams @ CHI
    J. Howard vs GB
    Riddick @NYG (if healthy).

I am filling a TE slot and a flex with these options. Note that I am playing the gentleman with both Big Ben and Brown. My current lineup is set to play Green and Adams.

Question #2: Also, is Peterson going to be shadowing Michael Thomas or Cooks this week, in your opinion?

  17. Crowder or Davante Adams?

  18. I’d lay off saying “trained chimps could do better” etc you guys are the same crew who had Todd Gurley AHEAD of David Johnson.

    1. Post By Vick's Doggy Daycare

Everyone guesses wrong in fantasy sometimes, man. Give them a break. They do a great job. I stayed away from Gurley despite their recommendations based solely on lack of talent everywhere else on the offensive side of the ball on that team. I knew they wouldn’t be able to move the ball. Not to mention their O-line was average at best coming into the season, in my opinion.

  19. DST question:

Atlanta vs SF or Oakland @ SD?

SF offense sucks but Rivers has been heavily pressured TO machine
