Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Heading Into Week 11
Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 11 of the 2023 NFL Season
Plenty of surprises on the scoreboard this week, but there aren’t many new needle movers as far as fantasy goes. We’ll make the most of what’s left going into Week 11 of the NFL season…
Panthers – 13 @ Bears – 16
- The Panthers offense is at a standstill right now. It’s not a positive sign for your team when you can only score 13 on the Bears, arguably the best matchup for an opposing QB. Things won’t get better this week against Dallas. Adam Thielen is the only Panther I’d consider, and even he hasn’t been more than a low end WR2 the past 2 weeks.
- Roschon Johnson(11/32) had 6 targets Thursday from Tyson Bagent, and he caught 4 of them for only 14 yards. Justin Fields is likely to return this week in a road game versus Detroit, raising the fantasy values of all Bears skill players.
Colts – 10 @ Patriots –
- Josh Downs(2/40) injured his knee in this one, leaving Isaiah Mackenzie(4/31) to have his best day this season. Downs get an extra week to get right though, so there’s little to see here.
- The Pats moved on from Mac Jones after a horrible red-zone INT, only to have Bailey Zappe throw a pick of his own. Thankfully, the Pats have a bye this week, so you don’t have to bother with either of them for at least one more week. Jones will probably be the starter in WK12.
- Demario Douglas is the no.1 WR in New England, catching 6 of 9 targets for 84 yards. This offense stinks, but with the Giants, Chargers and Steelers up after the bye, he’s well worth owning.
Texans – 30 @ Bengals – 27
- Devin Singletary(32/161/1) made the case for a split backfield whenever Dameon Pierce returns with a stellar effort against Cincy. He was the only Texan to log a carry, and if Pierce can’t play in WK11, Singletary is a must start against the Cardinals.
- Noah Brown has to have played himself into the 3rd WR role in Houston over Robert Woods. For the 2nd straight week he’s feasted, and he’s going to get plenty of snaps moving forward. Only owned in 24% of leagues, Brown needs to get got.
- Tyler Boyd(8/117) had his best game of the season with Tee Higgins sidelined. On a short week, Higgins might miss again, so Boyd is in play. So is Trenton Irwin(2/54/1) in deeper formats.
- Tanner Hudson(6/33) has moved ahead of Irv Smith as the pass catching TE in Cincy. His 7 targets were 2nd best for the Bengals on Sunday.
Packers – 19 @ Steelers – 23
- Jayden Reed(5/84/1) is playing like the de facto no.1 WR in Green Bay, despite Christian Watson(2/23) getting the most targets(7) on Sunday. The good news is that all the Packers’ WRs are pretty good. The bad news is that it’s hard to tell who will get theirs on a given week. Chances are it won’t be Watson right now though.
- Jaylen Warren(17/110/1) may not have surpassed Najee Harris(18/96/1) as lead back in Pittsburgh, but he’s established a split backfield, going over 88 yards in his last 2 games.
Titans – 6 @ Buccaneers – 20
- Well the Will Levis honeymoon may officially be over. After a 2nd game dud last week, he faltered again against a bottom 5 secondary in the Bucs. A silver lining is that our sweet son Tyjae Spears(9/60) got 9 touches, but there isn’t much to look forward to in WK11 versus Jacksonville.
- I suppose it is worth noting that Kyle Philips(3/61) did lead the team in receiving. As an underneath target for Levis, he could offer some PPR value this week.
Browns – 33 @ Ravens – 31
- Elijah Moore(4/51/1) scored the lone receiving TD for the Browns on Sunday. Both David Njoku(9) and Amari Cooper(9) had more targets, but the 7 Moore got were significant. He’ll have some PPR juice against the middling Steelers this week.
- Keaton Mitchell(4/66/1) seems to have leap-frogged Justice Hill(2/7) in the pecking order just one week after Hill led the team in touches. Mitchell’s WK9 eruption carried over to a productive WK10. He’s still unowned in over 50% of leagues.
49ers – 34 @ Jaguars – 3
- Elijah Mitchell(8/23) saw 8 carries Sunday, but it was in a runaway victory for the 49ers. Nothing doing here.
- Outside of Christian Kirk(6/104) the Jags were ineffective on offense. They’ll try to get back on track versus a weak Tennessee secondary this week.
Saints – 19 @ Vikings – 27
- Derek Carr will have to clear concussion protocol before he can make it back on the field, but he’s got an extra week to do it. Jameis Winston(25/122/2/2) wasn’t terribly effective in relief, so we’ll hope Carr can make it back in time.
- A.T. Perry(2/38/1) saw his first action of the season, catching a TD, but he only had 4 targets on the day. There may be a bit of second team doctrine at hand if Winston stays under center for WK12. Perry may also get more playing time if Michael Thomas‘ knee injury is as serious as it seems.
- Tyson Chandler(15/45/1) saw 15 touches in relief of Alexander Mattison(concussion). He’s worth adding even if Mattison gets back in time, as Mattison has been underwhelming as lead back.
Falcons – 23 @ Cardinals – 25
- Taylor Heinicke went down with a hamstring in the 4th quarter, and Desmond Ridder filled in. Neither QB was terribly effective, as no pass-catcher saw more than 5 targets or surpassed 36 yards through the air. Heinicke has an extra week to get right.
- Both Kyler Murray and James Conner(16/73) returned to game action this week. Murray didn’t throw a TD, but he did run one in. Trey McBride(8/131) was Murray’s favorite target and is available in over 40% of leagues.
- Rondale Moore(5/43) had 8 targets on the day, and though he didn’t do much with them, at only 9% ownership, he’s worth considering now that Murray is back under center.
Lions – 41 @ Chargers – 38
- Jahmyr Gibbs(17/112/2) out touched David Montgomery(12/116/1) 17-12 in Montgomery’s first game back from a 2 game absence. The Lions seem to have to come to their senses concerning Gibbs and are going to give him a fair share of touches moving forward. They’ll both be must starts this week against Chicago.
- Both Jalen Guyton(4/41/1) and Quentin Johnston(4/34/1) caught TDs this week, though Guyton had more targets(6 to 4). With Josh Palmer out at least one more week, both WRs are viable against Green Bay this week.
Giants – 17 @ Cowboys – 49
- Tommy DeVito had a rough welcome to the NFL in his first start. He only threw for 86 yards, but he ran for 41 and threw 2 TDs and an INT. Even though the Giants play Washington this week, Saquon Barkley is still the only Giant skill player you can roll with.
- Rico Dowdle had 12 carries for 79 yards in garbage time. It was the first time this season he had more than 7 carries, and though he was effective, there’s no indication that Tony Pollard‘s(15/55) job is in danger.
- Of course the week I have to drop Brandin Cooks(9/173/1) he has his best game of the season. Cook has been up and down, but he’s been more up lately. He’ll have a tough draw against the Panther’s stout secondary this week.
Commanders – 26 @ Seahawks – 29
- The Commanders played small ball Sunday, and it paid off for Antonio Gibson(5/42/1). He’s scored double-digit fantasy points the last 2 weeks, and he has a cherry matchup with the Giants this week.
- Zach Charbonnet(10/62) touched the ball 10 times Sunday, but Ken Walker(20/127/1) doubled that amount. There’s been no changing of the guard, as some have asserted.
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba(4/53) just doesn’t have much upside whenever DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are both on the field. He’s a stash, but I’m only holding tight in dynasty or keeper formats.
Jets – 12 @ Raiders – 16
- Tyler Conklin(7/70) had his 2nd straight season high game on Sunday night. He’s been a decent streamer, but he’s yet to score. He’ll have a middling matchup with Buffalo this week.
- Michael Mayer(3/19/1) caught his first TD of the season, though his yardage was lacking. He did have the 2nd most targets on the team, and he’s developing a report with Aidan O’Connell so he’s worth considering against Miami this week.

I might guess Olave owners are hoping Carr doesn’t make back!
