Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Heading Into Week 6

Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 6 of the NFL Season

The hits keep coming in this tumultuous NFL season, but we’re here in your corner, icing your bruises and setting you up for the next round. Here’s the fallout going into Week 6…

49ers 26 @ Rams 23

Kendrick Bourne(10-142) led all 49ers in receiving on Thursday, setting a career high in the process. The 49ers are down bad with WR injuries right now, so it’s well within the realm of possibilities that Bourne is heavily involved once again this week. The same can be said for Jake Tonges(7-41-1), who has scored in back-to-back games.

Blake Corum(1-13) has faded back into obscurity behind Kyren Williams(14-65; 8-66-2). He can be dropped outside of dynasty formats.

Tutu Atwell(2-72) had a nice day, but his targets need to go up to consider him in fantasy.

Vikings 21 @ Browns 17

Upstart Zavier Scott(5-18) wasn’t as involved as he was in WK4, but he’s still firmly on the PPR radar.

TJ Hockenson(6-38) hasn’t reached 50 yards receiving yet this season. He’s staying afloat with his receptions, but he’s more TE2 these days.

Dillon Gabriel(19-190-2) loves him some David Njoku(6-67-1), which is pretty par the course for a young QB, so far as they often cling to their TEs. Harold Fannin also caught his first NFL TD. Look for Gabriel to continue to target his TEs as he finds his footing.

Isaiah Bond(2-29) had an unimpressive line, but he was targeted 7 times, second only to Njoku. It’s time to add him in PPR formats.

Texans 44 @ Ravens 10

The Ravens are in a free fall without Lamar Jackson, but that shouldn’t diminish CJ Stroud’s(23-244-4) best performance of the season thus far. Having Christian Kirk back in the fold certainly seems to be helping Stroud’s cause, as Kirk(4-64) led the Texans in receiving. Only owned in 31% of leagues, Kirk makes for a solid PPR pickup.

Cooper Rush(14-179-0-3) has been a train wreck in Baltimore. If Lamar Jackson(hamstring) can’t go this week, I’m hands off all Ravens not named Flowers and Henry.

Giants 14 @ Saints 26

The rookie QB to TE train continues with Jaxson Dart(16-202-2-2; 7-55) finding Theo Johnson(6-32-2) twice in the endzone. Johnson should be added in most formats, as the absence of Malik Nabers offers a wealth of opportunities.

Kendre Miller(10-41; 1-8) outcarried Alvin Kamara(8-27; 4-28) 10 – 8, though Kamara bested him in receptions 4 – 1. Kamara might be losing a step, and it makes sense to invest in Miller while you can still get him on the cheap.

Rashid Shaheed(4-114-1) feasted in this one, as I suggested he would in my Fantasy Plays piece last week. He’s still around in 25% of leagues.

Broncos 21 @ Eagles 17

Evan Engram(4-33-1) finished 2nd in targets and receptions(4) for the Broncos. Unowned in over half of leagues, Engram is primed to heat up as the season wears on.

The Eagles should have a better day this week against a subpar Giants defense. All systems are go.

Cowboys 37 @ Jets 2

Ryan Flournoy(6-114) led the Cowboys in receiving with CeeDee Lamb(ankle) and KeVontae Turpin(foot) both sidelined. He definitely made an argument for more time moving forward, probably to the detriment of Jalen Tolbert.

Jaydon Blue(4-7) saw his first action with Miles Sanders(ankle) sidelined. It’s going to take an injury to Javonte Williams(16-135-1; 1-4-1) for Blue to get any meaningful playing time.

Mason Taylor(9-67) led all Jets in targets(12). He needs to be added in most formats, as

his upside is palpable.

Raiders – 6  @ Colts – 40

Tre Tucker(4-67) led the Raiders in receiving for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. He’ll be         uneven, it’s hard not to be in this offense, but Tucker should be worth flexing in PPR formats most weeks.

Josh Downs(6-54) led the Colts with 8 targets on the day. He’s getting looks, but they’re mostly short area looks. Until Jones opens things up, Downs’ upside is capped.

Dolphins 24 @ Panthers 27

Darren Waller(5-78-1) looked like his old self on Sunday, slotting into the no.2 WR role, now that Tyreek HIll is lost for the season. Owned in 67% of leagues, Waller is and should be a hot pickup where you can get him.

Rico Rowdle(23-206-1; 3-28) had a career day against Miami, with Chuba Hubbard(calf) sidelined. Owned in 59% of leagues, he’s in line for another big day against his former Cowboys this week. He should be a top waiver priority.

Buccaneers 38 @ Seahawks 35

Rachaad White(14-41-2; 4-30) out-touched Sean Tucker(3-3; 3 – -4) 14 – 3 on Sunday, dispelling any doubt that White would be the bellcow with Bucky Irving out. Tucker doesn’t need to be added in most leagues.

Cade Otton(4-81) had season highs across the board. With Mike Evans out, and soft matchups for the next 4 games, Otton makes for a decent streaming option.

AJ Barner(7-53-2) has scored in 3 of his last 4 outings. The targets and redzone opportunities are there, so snag him where you can, which is 98% of leagues.

Zach Charbonnet(9-36-1; 1-12) had one fewer carry than Ken Walker(10-86) and has scored in back-to-back games. He’s giving standalone value these days.

Titans 22 @ Cardinals 21

Tyjae Spears only had 4 carries for 14 yards in his season debut. Coach Callahan says his touches will go up, but his upside will be limited in this offense. I suppose it does make sense to add him in PPR formats if you’re hurting at RB though.

Emari Demercado(3-81) led the Cardinals in rushing, but 71 of his 81 yards came on one play. It was Michael Carter(18-51-1; 5-22) who buoyed the backfield and makes for the stronger play going forward.

Commanders 27 @ Chargers 10

Jacory Croskey-Merritt(14-111-2; 2-39) had a coming out party against the Chargers, hopefully cementing himself as the lead back in Washington moving forward. He’s still up for grabs in 25% of leagues.

Omarion Hampton(ankle) is on IR, leaving Hassan Haskins, Kimani Vidal and Amar Johnson to man the backfield. They should be prioritized in that order.

Lions 37 @ Bengals 24

Jameson Williams(1-1) suffered from a run-heavy gameplan after getting 8 targets in WK4. We were hoping for more consistency this season, but it doesn’t look like we’re going to get it. Things aren’t likely to improve much  against KC this week. Isaac TeSlaa(1-13-1) scored again, but again on 1 target. He can’t be added outside of dynasty.

Andre Iosivas(5-82; 7 tgts) had a nice day, but no one can be depended on week to week  with Jake Browning helming this offense.

Patriots 23 @ Bills 20

TreVeyon Henderson(6-24; 2-3), Antonio Gibson(6-21; 1-5) and Rhamondre Stevenson  (7-14-2; 2-13)split carries almost  evenly, but only Stevenson found the endzone. This is a 3-headed beast that I want little part of. Stevenson can be flexed due to his TD upside.

Khalil Shakir(6-45) and Dalton Kincaid(6-108) are the only Bills pass-catchers you can start on a weekly basis. It’s a crapshoot for the others. You’re praying for an errant TD catch from Keon Coleman(4-23-1).

  1. Going forward which TE would you roster – Kraft , Kelce or Strange. Thanks

  2. I have the worst team since I started playing 15 years ago and am at a loss at what to do. I am 0-5 and am averaging an embarrassingly low 76 points per week in 0.5 PPR. Completely abysmal.

    QB: Daniel Jones
WR: ceedee, mclaurin, Ridley, golden, tre Tucker
RB: breece, treveyon, chase brown, woody marks, Jaylen Warren
    TE: Kyle pitts, mark andrews

Barring an incredible turn around, my season is already over. My team simply can’t score points. Should I trade away ceedee to try and field a better starting roster? Chase brown, treveyon, mclaurin, Ridley, have wrecked my chances at doing anything each week. Or should I wait since I’ve already missed him for weeks 3-5.

  3. Please tell me I’m dumb. PPR I’d trade my kyren and olave for chase brown and London?
