Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Heading Into Week 7

Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 7 of the NFL Season

Whether your team’s cruising or clinging, we’re here to sift through the rubble, patch up the holes, and find the next batch of dumpster diamonds. Here’s the fallout going into Week 7…

Eagles 17 @ Giants 34

Dallas Goedert(9-110-1) is back. Jalen Hurt’s favorite receiver in WK6, Goedert had scored in 3 straight games going in but put it all together on Thursday, posting a season high 110 yards receiving. He’s an elite TE option once again.

Tyrone Tracy has been relegated to a secondary role behind Can Skattebo, playing 21 snaps to Skat’s 49. Maybe he was just getting his legs back under him, but Skat’s breakout may keep Tracy’s snaps down moving forward. With Jaxson Dart playing such a major role in the running game as well, Tracy is negligible for the time being. You can keep him if your bench is deep, as it’s hard to imagine Skattebo and/or Dart can keep taking this punishment on the weekly, but you probably shouldn’t implement him.

Wan’Dale Robinson(6-84-1) had his second best line of the season, leading the Giants in receiving. Curiously though, Lil’Jordan Humphrey(4-55) led the team in targets(8). Robinson should be owned, but you can get Humphrey at a much cheaper cost, and he might pay off just as well in the near future.

Broncos 13 @ Jets 11

Neither team could get much going on offense, but it might’ve been the extensive travel situation. This might be the last week you can get Evan Engram(5-42) in almost half of leagues though. He didn’t have a crazy line, but he led the team in targets and has averaged 6 over his last 3 games.

Browns 9 @ Steelers 23

Dillon Gabriel loves him some Harold Fannin Jr.(7-81). The rookie QB isn’t playable himself, in fantasy, but his connection with Fannin makes the young TE worthy of owning in most formats. It is worth noting that David Njoku was banged up for part of this one which helped Fannin’s target share, but should Njoku miss time, it makes Fannin all the more appealing.

He didn’t have the game that Jaylen Warren(11-52; 2-11) did, but Kenny Gainwell(6-22; 6-14) had only one fewer touch on the day. He should have some standalone value this week against Cincy, arguably the best matchup for opposing RBs this season.

Chargers 29 @ Dolphins 27

Kimani Vidal(18-124; 3-14-1) ran away with the RB competition, leaving Hassan Haskins(6-14; 1-9) in the dust. He’ll probably have a much harder time finding room against Indy this week, but Vidal should be owned and started in most formats.

Oronde Gadsden(7-68) was 2nd in targets(8) behind Ladd McConkey(7-100-1) on Sunday. He’s likely overtaken Will Dissly as the top pass-catching TE option in LA.

Patriots 25 @ Saints 19

Kayshon Boutte(5-93-2) and DeMario Douglas(3-71-1) both had fantasy worthy outings on Sunday, but they’ve both been about as inconsistent as you can get. Boutte does offer enough upside to flex in plus matchups though.

Rams 17 @ Ravens 3

Puka Nacua is day-to-day with an ankle injury that took him out of the game on Sunday. The Rams have a bye in WK8, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they hold him out through it.

Tyler Higbee(4-40-1) had the best day of a Rams pass-catcher in the aftermath, but Jordan Whittington(3-23) matched him in targets(4). Davante Adams stands to be the biggest beneficiary of Nacua’s absence though.

The Ravens have a bye this week, and Lamar Jackson should be back in WK8. Time to buy low or pick up dropped Ravens. Their schedule after the bye is a cake walk.

Cardinals – 27  @ Colts – 31

Jacoby Brissett(27-320-2-1) held his own against a stout Indy defense. He would be a middling streamer against a middling GB defense this week.

Zay Jones(5-79) was 2nd in targets(8) to only Tre McBride(8-72-1) on Sunday, with Marvin Harrison suffering what looks like a concussion. He could be worth a spot start this week if Harrison can’t make it back.

Josh Downs(6-42-1) has had at least 5 targets in his last 3 outings. He’s emerging as Daniel Jones’ favorite receiving option after Tyler Warren(6-63-1).

Seahawks 20 @ Jaguars 12

AJ Barner(3-71) has had solid fantasy outings in 4 of his last 5 games, finishing 2nd in receiving behind JSN on Sunday. He’s well worth streaming most weeks, but I’d be wary of him in WK7, as the Texans are a top 5 TE defense.

Parker Washington was 2nd in receiving for the Jags with only 29 yards. He’s popped the last couple of weeks, but he’s still behind at least 3 other WRs right now.

Cowboys 27 @ Panthers 30

Ryan Flournoy was 3rd in targets behind George Pickens and Javonte Williams but managed only 30 yards on the day. The Panthers have a top-notch secondary, so it’s not surprising that he was stymied. He should have streaming value this week against Washington if CeeDee Lamb(ankle) remains sidelined.

Rico Dowdle(30-183; 4-56-1) WAS the Panthers offense, as no other player top 39 yards on the day. Tet McMillan scored twice but had only 29 yards on the day. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when Chuba Hubbard returns, but it seems unlikely that Dowdle returns to second fiddle.

Titans 10 @ Raiders 20

Van Jefferson(4-75) led the Titans in receiving in the wake of Calvin Ridley leaving with a hamstring injury in the first quarter. He tied Chig Okonkwo(6-46) with 6 targets on the day and would be in line for more work this week against New England if Ridley can’t return. Elic Ayomanor(3-27) would obviously be in the mix as well.

Tyjae Spears(5-31; 4-19) had 9 touches to Tony Pollard’s(10-34; 2-13) 11 on Sunday. Pollard isn’t doing anything to stave off Spears, so Spears is on the streaming radar coming into WK7.

Michael Mayer led the Raiders in targets(7) and fantasy production on Sunday, with Brock Bowers(knee) sitting. He would offer a nice fantasy floor in WK7 if Bowers can’t go.

Tre Tucker(5-70) led the Raiders in receiving on Sunday. He has yet to come close to his WK3 output, but Tucker has enough upside to flex him in deeper formats this week.

49ers 19 @ Buccaneers 30

Kendrick Bourne(5-142) led all 49ers in receiving, as I expected, with so many injuries to the WR corps. Jauan Jennings played, but he was a decoy at best. If Pearsall can’t go this week, Bourne makes for a decent flex option against Atlanta.

We hate to see it, but Emeka Egbuka is likely out with a hamstring injury. For how long we’re not sure yet. In any case, fantasy life goes on so it’s time to scoop up Tez Johnson(1-45)and Kameron Johnson(4-64-1). Kameron had the better day, but Tez had the most playing time and was coming off a (4-59) WK5. Either could be reasonable flex options this week if neither Egbuka, Evans or Godwin can suit up. Sterling Shepard(2-51) remains a PPR option as well.

Bengals 18 @ Packers 27

Joe Flacco(29-219-2) wasn’t bad in his first start for the Bengals, though he didn’t pull out the win. He’s a sigh of relief for Chase and Higgins owners for sure and has cake matchups the next 3 weeks. Stream him if you got him.

Matthew Golden(3-86) had a coming out of sorts, though he only had 3 catches on the day. His 5 targets tied for 2nd on the team and he’s quietly put together 3 50+ yard games in his last 3 outings. He’s worth adding in most formats.

Lions 17 @ Chiefs 30

Jameson Williams(6-66-1) put up his 2nd best line of the season in a week that he was probably on benches, after 3 straight stinkers. His usage varies to say the least, but he deserves flex consideration this week.

Rahsee Rice comes off suspension this week, throwing the already tumultuous receiving situation in KC into even more confusion. Tyquan Thornton, who’d been the team’s most consistent WR this season, didn’t log a single target on Sunday night, and Rice’s return will only make things more difficult for him. Rice and Xavier Worthy make for the most worthwhile fantasy gets for KC right now, with Hollywood Brown bringing up the rear.
