Trashman’s Garbage Grab Bag: Week 8

Here are your dumpster diamonds for Week 8 of the NFL season…

 

Running Back

J.D.  McKissic, Lions: Chances are Ty Johnson is owned in your league by now, but McKissic is still available to most. Mckissic outgained Johnson last week, though he didn’t have as many touches. He probably won’t touch the ball this week as much either, but he may not need to to make an impact. 

 

Mark Walton, Dolphins: Walton, for all intents and purposes, is the starting running back in Miami, or at least he was last week. Walton doesn’t have a ton of upside, but his floor should be pretty solid against Pittsburgh on Monday night. 

 

 

Wide Receiver

A.J. Brown, Titans: Brown had a season high in targets(8) and receptions(6) last week with Ryan Tannehill Under center. A playmaker waiting to be let loose, Brown has a great matchup with Tampa this week. 

 

Diontae Johnson, Steelers: Johnson was Mason Rudolph’s favorite target before he went down with a concussion in Week 5, so he should see his fair share of targets against a hapless Dolphins squad.

 

DaeSean Hamilton, Broncos: Hamilton comes in as the no.2 in Denver with Emmanuel Sanders traded to the 49ers. He’s more of a possession guy, but he should be a decent PPR streamer. 

 

Zach Pascal, Colts: Pascal is flying under the radar in Indy with at least 70 yards or a TD in three of his last four games. 

 

Jakobi Meyers, Patriots: Preseason stud, Meyers is running in three-wide sets for the Pats along with Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett. He’s got a good a chance as anyone to hit pay dirt against Cleveland. 

 

Quarterback

Ryan Tannehill, Titans: Tannehill is making his second start for Tennessee, and he already moves the offense better than Marcus Mariota. The Bucs can stifle the run, but they’re much more forgiving to passers. Tannehill makes for a capable streamer. 

 

Mason Rudolph, Steelers: Rudolph has been since week 5 with a concussion, but he should be good to go this week against a Dolphins team that has given up the most points to QBs this season.

 

 Tight End

Jonnu Smith, Titans: Smith is starting in place of Delanie Walker on a Titans team that has found their wings with Ryan Tannehill it seems. Smith is a low floor streamer who could show up big. 

 

Josh Hill, Saints: Hill is here for two reasons: Drew Brees is back under center for New Orleans, and the Saints are facing Arizona, the most TE friendly defense in the NFL.

    12 team standard and only carry 1 QB, so I have Wentz. Should I start him or stream waiver QB’s Darnold, Jones or Tannehill?

      Would rather keep Wentz ROS but if you are in need of a win this wk (we all are)—-I think going streaming is fine, you’ll just be committed to it ROS- which again is fine with us. 3 solid waiver options, looks like you won’t be in too big of trouble. Would be a great spot to make a 2:1 trade a littler earlier in the wk to clear a roster spot to add a QB2

      That’s tough. I think he’ll be more decoy if he goes. Mixon has the best chance to score. I’d give Hamilton a shot if you’re feeling especially bold though.
