Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 1
And we’re back! Hopefully you don’t need to use the guys this early in the season, but at less than 35% ownership in most leagues, these fantasy finds are likely to be at your disposal, and they won’t do you wrong in Week 1…
Running Back
Mike Davis, Ravens – 31% rostered
Should JK Dobbins not be a go or even a full go, Davis is the next man up to lead the Ravens backfield. A run first, run heavy offense, Davis could stand to touch the ball 15+ times against a Jets team that gave up the most points to RBs in 2021. *** According to Ian Rapoport, Kenyan Drake was signed to be the de facto starter, so he should be prioritized over Davis at this point.
Jd Mckissic, Commanders – 29% rostered
Reprising his pass-catching role for Washington for yet another season, McKissic benefits from Brian Robinson‘s absence from the field and Antonio Gibson‘s ball security issues. Set up against a Jaguars team that is middling at best against the run, and a top 10 matchup in the passing game, McKissic will get enough action to warrant a deep league PPR start.
Wide Receiver
AJ Green, Cardinals – 12% rostered
No DeAndre Hopkins and no Rondale Moore makes Green a super solid option for fantasy this week. Set to face a KC team that allowed the 5th most points to WRs in 2021, Green is a safe start in any format as the no.2 receiving option for the Cardinals.
Sammy Watkins, Packers – 23% rostered
Allen Lazard is doubtful to face the Vikings this week, making Watkins, among others, a viable fantasy option against Minnesota. Watkins provides the combination of veteran receiver and deep threat that Aaron Rodgers has favored for so long. It also doesn’t hurt that the Vikings gave up the most fantasy points to WRs last season and they’re in a rebuilding stage.
Parris Campbell, Colts – 6% rostered
Grab Campbell while you can, cause he’s going to be a PPR asset as long as he’s healthy in this refurbished Colts offense. Already a favorite target of Matt Ryan in camp, Campbell is in the lead to take the no.2 WR role in Indy. Facing a lowly Texans secondary, Campbell will come out of the gates firing.
Tight End
Tyler Conklin, Jets – 2% rostered
Conklin has been a usual target of both Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco this preseason. Flacco looks to start this week, and he’s shown in his time in Baltimore that he’s very comfortable going to his TEs early and often. Facing a Ravens defense that stifles the run but was 4th best matchup against WRs last year, Conklin is a strong streaming option if you’re a worried George Kittle owner this week.
Isaiah Likely, Ravens- 11% rostered
Likely has been the closest thing to a third receiving option for the Ravens this preseason, catching 12 of 12 targets for 144 yards. He’s only a rookie, but he’s already shown that he can be trusted with the ball in his hands. With a backfield weakened by injury, The Ravens’ best option to move the ball this week may be their talented TEs.
Quarterback
Daniel Jones, Giants – 25% rostered
Jones has a bevy of offensive weapons at his disposal and a revamped offensive line in front of him, so there’s no excuse for him not to flourish this week, if he can stay out of his own way. Facing a Titans team that is middling against the pass and just lost pro-bowler Harola Landry to a torn ACL, Jones has the first of many favorable matchups to start the season.

Team Name: We The Best Fantasy
Record: 0-0
12 Team, PPR. I drafted OBJ at the end of my draft. It seems he won’t be back until Week 13ish. With that being my belief, I am looking to drop him ahead of Week 1. Who do y’all like as a speculative add out: Mecole Hardman, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Khalil Herbert, Jerrick McKinnon?
If we’re talking upside I like Doubs or Watson. It seems like Doubs has the inside track right now.
Thank You Trashman! I look forward to this article every football Sunday. Let the winning begin.
I am to please, Papi! Thanks for tuning in
Fanucci Football Club
PPR flex.
Mostert, Hardman, or Josh Palmer. (I have Justin Herbert)
Have Lazard but looks like he’s out.
What do you guys think?
Damn, I’d have to say Hardman. I think he gets the most targets of this lot.

PPR need 2 and a flex of the following started cam Akers so need some help here
Marquis Browns
JuJu
Mooney
Chase Edmonds
I feel like Juju’s usage is the most unknown. I’d sit him
Should I roster Doubs or Treylon Burks ROS?
I’d go with Burks. His floor seems more built in and he’s got similar ceiling if not higher
Should I drop Robbie gould for Rodrigo Blankenship match up against the Texans? Or stay with gould season long?
I tend to stick with a kicker if they’re proven consistent. That being said, the colts offense should be considerably better this year. I’m fine going with Blankenship
Damien Harris or Elijah Mitchell?
I lean Mitchell
PPR Flex spot, need 1 from:
DMooney DMontgomery ElijahMoore BHall Dlondon GPickens

Pick 1 in PPR for Flex:

This one’s tough, but I have to believe Kirk leads the Jags in targets. I’d go with him in a ppr

oops — flex
it’s a post on the front page.
roster Robert Woods or Doubs ROS?
Woods is WR1 in that offense .. him
10 team PPR
D Hopkins available right now as FA Should I pick up and hold for later?
I am good at RB for now (DSwift, Fournette, DMontgomery, BHall)
My WR are Kupp, MHollywood Brown, Bateman, Mooney, London EMoore Pickins
Drop Pickens and pick up DHop to hold for a WR 1 for second half of season ?
PPR I play @ RB 3 WR and a Flwx
I am not picking up D-Hop. Other may disagree, but it will be too tough to hold him through byes. If you are ..drop Pickens. But do not do it!
0.5pt PPR, Start 1: Cordarrelle Patterson, Sammy Watkins, or Romeo Doubs?
Sammy Watkins is now or never. That said I still play CP
dk metcalf or Aiyuk /toney thanks
also have Carter on the bench
DKM
Gentlemen! 1-point PPR, Kadarius Toney or Dameon Pierce in the FLEX?
Pierce for me
Thanks Alex. And in the afternoon games, Irv Smith or Zach Ertz in a PPR format?
1/2ppr: I can grab KJ Hamler, Albert O, or Noah Fant to get a “free look” before kickoff of MNF. Which player would be the most advisable speculative add? My only other TE is Cole Kmet and I also own Courtland Sutton.
Albert O. is the one I would be most interested in. Easy drop if he is not targeted at least 5 times tonight.
Trouble after week 1
Is CeeDee Lamb no longer startable? Dallas looked terrible with little hope of getting better going forward. Would you drop him?
My QB – Kyler Murray looked bad and was only saved by some garbage time work. Should I look for other options?
Winston, Wentz, Jones? If so, who would you drop — Mattison (i have cook), K walker, Aiyuk, D harris and Toney. Also have Carter but after week one, i think he’s a keeper. I am leaning toward Harris since it appears NE now has a three headed committee. What do you think?
Thanks
You definitely don’t want to drop CeeDee Lamb. Without Dak this team could be trailing in all of their games going forward and with Cooper Rush he will be a target monster. Hold him.
Kyler is not a drop candidate especially not for those three QBs on the waivers.
thanks for the advice — i was thinking of adding a second QB to the team — winston or wentz — and dropping someone –Mattison (i have cook), K walker, Aiyuk, D harris and Toney. Also have Carter but after week one, i think he’s a keeper.
would you recommend I do this?
