Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 10

It’s Week 10  dumpster divers! Let’s devastate the competition in hilarious fashion with our cheap and dirty plays…

Quarterback

Marcus Mariota, Titans: Mariota is coming off a 30 pointer against a solid Cowboys defense to face a burnable New England secondary. If he can’t do it with his arm, he’ll do it with his feet.

 

Running Back

Elijah McGuire, Jets: McGuire looks like the Jets’ best back even after just one game this season. Fire him up against a Bills team that can be beat on the ground.

Spencer Ware, Chiefs:  The Chiefs will likely find themselves leading the Cardinals early on, creating a game script that will include considerable doses of Ware. He’s scored double digit fantasy points in 2 of his las 3 games, and it’s always nice to have a piece of the Chiefs offense regardless.

Alfred Morris, 49ers: No Raheem Mostert and a Monday night matchup with the lowly Giants could be a perfect storm for Morris.

 

Wide Receiver

Chrisian Kirk, Cardinals:  He may get fewer targets now that Larry Fitzgerald is on the come up, but Kirk is still worth starting in PPR formats.

Kenny Still, Dolphins:  Stills is the Dolphins’ best receiver now that he’s back and Albert Wilson is out for the season. The question will be if Brock Osweiler can deliver him the ball downfield.

Maurice Harris, Redskins:  Harris had 10 catches last week and could be in for a similar workload this week with Jamison Crowder sidelined.

Adam Humphries, Buccaneers: You can no longer deny the fantasy force that is Adam Humphries. His fantasy output has been staggering in recent weeks, despite being in a crowded WR corps. Look for him to continue the upward trajectory.

 

Tight End

Chris Herndon, Jets: I’ll take Herndon out of the Grab as soon as he’s owned in more than 35% of leagues, but with the way people are failing to notice his value, that could be awhile.

Vernon Davis, Redskins: Davis has been vulturing Jordan Reed’s targets to great effect over the last couple of weeks, and with the ‘Skins losing key lineman up front, Alex Smith may actually try his hand at throwing the ball.

    I currently have Kenyan Drake starting but have Chris Carson and Mike Davis on the bench. Would you start Chris Carson over Kenyan Drake if he’s active, or Mike Davis over Drake if Carson is inactive?? All week I’ve been feeling I’d rather Carson sits, so I could feel pretty good about playing Davis over Drake. What chu thank?

      I’d go Mike Davis is Carson sits. If Carson plays hurt that’ll hurt both then I’d go drake(sadly) you could flip a coin.

      i don’t love either seattle back in a game that could be predicated on the pass against the Rams. miami might have a similar kind of game, but drake is better suited for that type of game

      depends if you want a rob’s floor or watkins’ upside. i’d probably lean a rob. hmm, i guess shady would be the loser in that battle. it would make sense as the chiefs clinch

    I don’t think you need to overthink it.

    Kupp and Mixon for me. If you’re super keen on matchups, Kupp and Chubb, but I don’t think you need to get fancy at 7-2.

      I’m more inclined to play the matchup here and go with Jones. I like where you’re coming from though.

      Game script could also favor Jones slightly more than Mack. It’s super close, but if your gut says Mack because of Rodgers inside the five, go with Mack.

    Standard scoring and weak-kneed about playing KJohnson as my RB2 with match-up and his injury. Flex and your rankings still have him higher than MDavis, Ito Smith and McGuire. Just want to ask for a sanity check. Thanks.

      I have KJ, too, and I’m benching him from a flex spot. The matchup is really bad, and it doesn’t feel like there’s a viable game script that would yield KJ enough touches to make sense. In a standard format though, playing from behind just doesn’t favor RBs.

      Disclaimer, I’m also starting CHI defense, so I could be a bit bias on the bench decision.

      In terms of ceiling, it’s probably Robinson, Davis, Drake. Make sure Robinson is actually going to play. He’s got no injury designation, but double check.

      Game script could favor Bears RBs, though.

      I think I like Jackson a little bit more, but both of these guys are TD dependent.

      Jackson is the more likely candidate to connect on a 60-yard bomb, though.
