Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 12

It’s pretty dire when even the trashiest players don’t look that bad, and that is the case for a lot of us who have lost player after player to injury. This is your week 12 Garbage Grab:

James White RB, Patriots: The tough matchup with Denver suits a shifty, pass catching back more so than a straight ahead plower. White fits the former category.

Brian Hoyer QB, Texans: Hoyer is back just in time to face every QB’s favorite defense, the Saints. He has all of his weapons at his disposal, and Hoyer should have no trouble posting at least 2 TDs.

Crockett Gillmore TE, Ravens: Game managers like Matt Schaub love a trusty safety blanket, and Gillmore fits the bill. Also, should the Ravens get close to scoring a TD, he’ll be the the first or second option.

Nate Washington WR, Texans: Washington had a dud last week, but he stands to benefit from the aerial onslaught that playing the Saints brings.

Shaun Draughn RB, 49ers: He doesn’t have a great matchup, but Draughn will get plenty of volume, as the 49ers can’t expect Gabbert to do too much in the air.

Javontee Herndon WR, Chargers: One of the few healthy pass catchers in San Diego, he should get much less attention than Stevie Johnson and Antonio Gates.

Tyler Lockett WR, Seahawks: Pittsburgh is most vulnerable in the passing game, and Seattle will likely have to score several times to keep up with Pittsburgh’s hi-octane offense. Lockett is matching Baldwin in targets recently, but he’s scoring more often so I think he makes for the better play.

Jacob Tamme TE, Falcons: Tamme will be the no.2 target behind Julio Jones with no Hankerson around. Minnesota has a solid defense, but Tamme will get enough looks to make it worth your while.

Josh McCown QB, Browns: McCown is back in the saddle against a Ravens defense that bleeds receiving yards and TDs. The only fear here is a potential early blowout. Hopefully Baltimore can stay competitive.

Keshawn Martin WR, Patriots: Martin is a bit banged up, but the Pats just don’t have many other options at WR. He’s a longshot, but Brady has done more with worse.

Jonathan Grimes RB, Texans: Grimes is going to get in on the passing game exploits for the Texans. He’s a bit more explosive than the plodding Blue.

Chris Hogan WR, Bills: Buffalo’s leading receiver in week 11, Hogan will rack up targets against an improved but bendable Chiefs defense.

  1. 12 team full point ppr league. 6 pts per rushing and receiving TDs. Need to flex either Stefon Diggs or Tevin Coleman. Who do you like better?

    1. actually, i had a change of heart. I think Diggs has a slight edge based on the matchup.

  2. With no West today, is Ware a better flex start then Amari Cooper as a flex in a standard league? Thanks!
