Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 2

Trashman Header                           Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 2

It’s only one week into the NFL season, but players are already dropping like flies. I guess that’s just an artifact of a shortened offseason and no preseason. No matter, we have plenty of options for you to scrounge the Waiver Wire for in Week 2…

Wide Receiver

Scotty Miller, Buccaneers

Chris Godwin is sidelined with a concussion so that leaves Miller as the 3rd option in the passing game at worst or maybe even 2nd behind only Mike Evans. Either way, expect him to top the 6 targets he received in Week 1 – 6 targets that he gained 73 yards on.

Quintez Cephus, Lions

Cephus led the Lions in targets(10) last week with Kenny Gollady out of the game with a hamstring injury. The 5th round rookie doesn’t have much to show for himself in the NFL thus far, but if he’s going to get double digit targets, there are worse options in your flex.

Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers

Deebo Samuel is still out, as is George Kittle, but Aiyuk will make his season debut this week against the Jets. A dazzling run-after-catch artist, look for him, Jordan Reed and Jerrick McKinnon to be the primary pass-catchers for SF this week. Even if you don’t play him, he needs to be owned.

Jalen Reagor, Eagles

It’s crazy to me that the potential receiving leader for the Eagles is only owned in a 3rd of leagues. Pick him up people!

Corey Davis, Titans

Maybe this is the year for Davis, the former 1st round pick for the Titans. He’s already had a fast start, with a 7 catch, 101 yard Week 1 against the Broncos. A.J. Brown is out for this week and maybe more, so it makes sense to see what Davis can do for you in his absence.

Russell Gage, Falcons

Gage come down with 114 yards on 12 targets in Week 1, which puts him firmly in the PPR conversation against a Dallas team that projects to start a shootout  in their first home game.

Tre’quan Smith, Saints

Smith benefits from the absence of target hound Michael Thomas this week. He makes for a much better red-zone target than Emmanuel Sanders, in addition to being a candidate for double-digit targets against Las Vegas’ porous secondary.

Running Backs

Joshua Kelley, Chargers

Kelley is running away with the 1B role in LA behind Austin Ekeler, as Justin Jackson looks like he’s going to miss another week with a quad injury. Kelley had 60 yards and a TD in Week 1, and he looks like the team’s preferred goal line back. Go get him.

Jerrick Mckinnon, 49ers

McKinnon played ahead of Tevin Coleman in Week 1, as the preferred passing back for the 49ers, scoring for the first time since 2017. With the top 2 receiving options for SF sitting this week, expect McKinnon to stay heavily involved in the passing game.

Myles Gaskin, Dolphins

Gaskin was the most effective back for the Dolphins in Week 1, leading their RBs in carries and targets. A shifty and spry back, Gaskin will be the go-to in negative game-scripts and it looks like the Dolphins could have one almost every week this season. He’s worth an add if you have the space.

Tight Ends

Logan Thomas, Redskins

Thomas was the safety blanket for Dwayne Haskins in Week 1(8 tar/ 3 rec/ 37 yards/ 1 TD), and I don’t expect much to change going into Week 2. Not to mention, he has a cherry matchup against Arizona this week.

Jordan Reed, 49ers

Once a top-2 TE in fantasy, Reed has fallen off the radar due to a history of season crushing concussions. Now, he gets a chance to redeem himself as the starting TE, for this week at least, on a 49ers team that loves to go to their TE. Fire him up!

Quarterback

Phillip Rivers, Colts

Rivers had a forgettable Week 1, throwing 2 INT, but he did score and he put up 363 yards  through the air. He gets a Vikings team this week that just made Aaron Rodgers look like… well, Aaron Rodgers, allowing 4 passing TD. It may not be pretty, but Rivers should break 20 points in standard leagues.

The matchup tool has me at odds with rankings. Pick one.

    Melvin Gordon at PIT
    Zack Moss at MIA
    Snell vs DEN

I’m not keen to play Gordon after what PIT did against Saquon. Leaning Snell as Josh Allen will take some goal line opportunities from Moss.

    Thoughts?

    1. Probably Moss in that case (if Conner goes)

  2. Ruggs is questionable (seems likely to play on Monday). Should I bypass him this week for Parris Campbell or Anthony Miller in my FLEX (PPR)? Is Minnesota’s secondary as bad as we all think?

Or even a James White instead? Thanks!

    1. Yes, I would probably Campbell. Miller is a good option too, I’d probably also play him over Ruggs

  3. Trashman I need your advice (1ppr):

    * Parris Campbell vs MINN

    *Marquise Brown vs TEX

    1. I’m no trashman, hard to tell you to break the rankings. I like both- so I’d probably go with the rankings.

  4. PPR who do you like better season long ruggs, reagor, or shenalt? Which two would you pick?

      1. Like them all close to equally. I’d probably say Ruggs and Shenault at this moment. …

  5. 1/2 PPR. Not excited on waiting for Ruggs on Monday night. Have Fournette , Mckinnon and Shenault on the bench. Highest upside?

    Thanks

    1. I’d probably play Fournette based on the matchup, could also envision rolling out Shenault….

  6. With Golladay, Godwin, and crowder out for me this week, which 2 WR should I start in Ppr?

    Desean Jackson, Ruggs, Reagor, Kirk?

Also, should I drop Lindsay & stash either Hyde or Jamal Williams per WWCS?

    1. Yikes, I’d play the matchups, targets, and snap counts with those guys. I’d probably play Ruggs, and decide b/t the others.

Hey need help with Michael Thomas out 1ppr

Need 2 wr and a flex
    Ty Hilton
    Diggs
    Brandon Cooks
    Treqaun Smith
    Lamb
    Mike Williams
    Campbell

    Ingram
    M.brown

    Thanks

    1. Hilton, Campbell, then up to you between Lamb and the RBs. Go with Trashman’s flex rankings.

  8. Wilson or Allen. Also does Miller get a bump with Godwin and Evans having issues?

    1. Josh Allen for me. Miller gets a bump but not sure I play him unless desperate.

  9. Pick one please. — Conner, Brown of Gibson for today? I don’t even see Conner on Rankings. Thanks

    1. Would roll with Brown this week although this lines up well for Gibson. We’re hands off of Conner until we see he’s actually healthy.

  10. Post By Max Bet Free Games

Allen Robinson or Mike Evans DFS? And which do you expect to be lower owned?

    1. They are both great plays, I think Evans will be double the ownership of AROB, but both lower owned than you would think – somewhere in the 10% Evans 5% A Rob range.

  11. Love the list Trashman

    Need input,

    Choose 1 for flex:
    Ceedee
    Scotty Miller
    Corey Davis

    Choose 1 for rb:
    Gibson
    Howard
    Michel
    James White

    Thanks

    1. Ceedee and Gibson for me. YOLO.

  12. Pick 1 in ppr between two between Monty, Lamb, Chark. Not crazy about Chark’s matchup and his lack of targets. I had Burrow goes as QB2 and opponent had OBJ and AJ Green go on TNF so I’m a slight favorite going into today. Do I get sick and bench Chark and play Cedee while flexing Monty? Or how would you play it?

Also Scotty Miller or JK Dobbins in ppr?

    1. I like Chark to bounce back this week. Would probably lean JKD over Scotty Miller but that’s a weird deal in PPR. Miller should see volume. I’m not entirely confident in that recommendation as I don’t really trust either player/situation right now. This is a homecoming game for Dobbins, he’s from La Grange which is halfway between Austin and Houston.

  13. Pick 2 in the precious message between Monty, lamb, and chark please

  14. Post By Kenneth Bone's Mustache

Kupp, M Gordon, Hollywood Brown, T McLaurin, W Fuller, C Lamb. Pick three | 1 Point PPR.

    1. McLaurin, Brown, Kupp

Please help!! Kittle out I need a tight end between herndan, Logan thomas or jonnu Smith. Also for flex will fuller, Corey Davis or mike Williams thanks in advance!

    1. In PPR slight lean to Herndon based on projected target volume, would go Jonnu in standard. Would wincingly start Fuller in that bad matchup over the other two options.

      1. Post By Vmtrigg@msn.com

Thanks!!! Sorry it is ppr forgot to put that any you guys are awesome!!

Need help picking one in the flex 0.5 ppr. Rojo, CeeDee, or Sanders? All great matchups per the matchup tool. Thanks RW!

    1. Sanders probably the safest bet with a high floor still

  17. I have Gordon in my flex and thinking of replacing him with Hines Or Marvin Jones. Which one would rather have in the flex. Leaning towards Hines.

    1. Hard to take Gordon out with no lindsay around. I’d keep him in

  18. .5 PPR

Would you rather roster Christian Kirk or Jalen Reagor?

  19. Need 2.

    Edelman
    Marvin Jones
    John Brown
    Parris Campbell

  20. Lamb or Monty in ppr?

    1. I like Lamb, but Montgomery is probably safer. If you want the upside I’d go with Lamb

  21. .5 PPR

Since Sutton is active, would you play him over Scott Miller?

    1. Abner: I need a “show me” game from Sutton first before I play him. The .5 PPR theoretically hurts Miller so it is a very close call. I’d go Miller, and if Sutton goes off at least you know he is good to go

  22. PPR

    Who would you pick?

    Rojo, Gurley or Scotty Miller

    Thanks

  23. With recent injury news coming out of Dallas, who to start.. Brady or Dak?

    1. Brian:

Dak running ability, make him a better fantasy start. Both should have nice games and it is close, but Dak’s the one

  24. Keenan Allen vs KC
    James Robinson vs Tenn

Full PPR. Who’d you go with?

  25. PPR FLEX: Ruggs, Watkins, Scotty Miller? Worried about waiting til monday night for ruggs status

    1. Hard to fade Watkins after his strong start

  26. Need one of these for a Flex (1 pt PPR): DJ Chark, Parris Campbell, James Conner

  27. Need one of these for a Flex (1 pt PPR): DJ Chark, Parris Campbell, James Conner

I’m kind of in a tricky situation. I need to start an RB, WR and FLEX out of these guys:

RB: RoJo, Dobbins, Fournette, Gibson, Swift
    WR: Sanders, Ruggs, Sutton

Currently have RoJo, Sanders and Dobbins starting. What do y’all think?

    1. Sutton will play today. I might start him over Dobbins. There’s a chance the Ravens roll with Ingram today, and Dobbins might be pretty TD dependent anyway.

  29. Post By kcyates@hotmail.com

    PPR Flex need one.
Malcolm Brown or DeVante Parker or James Robinson. Thanks!

  30. Miles Sanders owner, is it safe to drop Boston Scott, or a guy we want to keep our hands on?

    1. Scott is droppable. If Sanders goes down, he’s not likely to be a workhorse back anyway.

  31. David Johnson or Fuller PPR

  32. 10 Team PPR league Trade Offer. Start 2RBS, 2WR, 1 Flex

I give up C. Carson and D. Montgomery

    I receive M. Thomas

Current RBs: Zeke, Ekler, C. Carson, J. Conner, D. Montgomery, T. Coleman, T. Pollard
Current WR: Godwin, D. Parker, M. Williams, B. Cooks

    1. I get it, but I would not do that trade as we don’t know how long Thomas will be out and you would be thinning out your RB depth. I’d try to flip Montgomery or Carson for a WR of equal or better value.

  33. Hi,

My league’s waiver wire runs on Tuesday morning, so with all the big carnage at RB this week I can’t wait for the cheat sheet update Tuesday afternoon.

Can you please give an early view on RB waiver priority and FAAB budget?

    Thanks!

    1. Sorry, 1 point PPR.

  34. Post By chelomendez99@gmail.com

    My Team
RBs: Fournette, Kamara, Gibson, Dobbins, RoJo, Swift
    WRs: Hopkins, Ruggs, Sanders, Sutton

    His Team
RBs: Ekeler, Singletary, Barber, Gore, Peterson
WRs: Evans, JuJu, Diggs, J. Brown

He clearly needs RBs and I think I need WRs. What trade would you guys aim to offer?

    1. Post By chelomendez99@gmail.com

Now I’m sure I need WRs with the latest Sutton news 🙁

      1. It’s been absolutely brutal this year. The players needed the pre-season to help curtail all this.

    2. 4 of your RBs are in timeshares so I highly doubt he’ll trade Evans,Juju,or Diggs for any of them but you can try.
Maybe Rojo for Brown since he does have Diggs as well but if he only has 4 WRs on his roster he may not want to do it so as to not be too thin at the position.
I’d either see what is on the wire or target another team.

      1. Post By chelomendez99@gmail.com

He offered JuJu for Fournette. Do pull the trigger?

        1. I would

  35. My Team: Sex Panther
    QB: Lamar Jackson
RB: McCaffrey, Akers, Fournette, Joshua Kelley, Mattison & Snell
WR: Evans, Sutton, J. Landry, D. Slayton, & John Brown

After this weekend w/ McCaffrey and the news today about Sutton someone in my league has offered me
Brady, CeeDee Lamb & David Montgomery for Lamar.

I normally wouldn’t consider this trade because im giving up the best player but after losing my rb1 for 4-6 and
my wr2 for the season the depth would be helpful. The other option old be to move fournette and kelley into my rb spots brown into wr2 and flex slayton or landry then work the waiver.

    1. I wouldn’t do that trade. I would go with the other option. If the Chargers keep using Kelley as they are,he’s a weekly flex.

  36. .5 PPR

Was offered Clyde for Chris Carson and DJ Moore

    What would you do?

    QB: Dak

    RB: Carson

    RB: Melvin Gordon

    WR: Michael Thomas

    WR: Golladay

    TE: Higbee

    W/R: DJ Moore

Bench: Marquise Brown, Antonio Gibson, Kareem Hunt, Paris Campbell, Christian Kirk, McKinnon

    1. I would keep Carson and Moore

  37. Post By chelomendez99@gmail.com

Hey Byron, would you trade Fournette (mine) for JuJu.

My RBs: Kamara, Gibson, Swift, Dobbins, RoJo
My WRs: Hopkins, Ruggs, Sanders and…Sutton

    Thanks!
