Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 3

Trashman Header.                                    Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 3

After the carnage wreaked by Week 2, I have a feeling some of you are going to need this… Hold your nose and take a peek…

Wide Receiver

Golden Tate, Giants:

With Sterling Shepard on the sidelines and Saquon Barkley gone for the season, Tate will have to step up in the Giants offense this week. Darius Slayton is the big play receiver for NY, but Tate has a role as the chain mover and short passing game specialist. He’s a solid PPR flex, even in a tough matchup with the 49ers.

Tre’quan Smith, Saints:

Smith was here last week, but Michael Thomas is still sitting and Smith is still unowned in about 75% of leagues, so he’s back. It was Smith, not Emmanuel Sanders, who benefitted in Thomas’ absence in Week 2(5 rec, 86 yards), and he’s primed to have another big game against a Green Bay team that is weak against the pass.

Michael Pittman Jr., Colts:

Pittman is coming off a 6 target game, and that number is likely to increase now that Parris Campbell is out with what looks like a serious injury. Throw in the fact the Colts are playing the horrendous Jets at home, and you have the makings of a fantasy boom for the talented rookie.

Miles Boykin, Ravens:

Boykin has played at least 40 snaps and gotten at least 4 targets in both weeks this season. His floor is low, but his ceiling is considerably high against a KC team that the Ravens are going to have to air it out on to keep up with them. Don’t be surprised if he breaks out in this one.

Running Back

Jeff Wilson, 49ers:

There’s some evidence to suggest that Wilson will be closer to a 2-down back than Jerrick McKinnon with Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert absent this week – He’s played a similar role in the past when injuries piled up. Up against a Giants run defense that is far from stout, Wilson could play a major role this week, especially with a backup QB under center.

Frank Gore, Jets:

I’d give anyone who got 20+ touches a fighting chance to help me in fantasy, and Frank Gore got 21 carries last week, with LeVeon Bell sidelined. He’ll face a solid Colts front this week, so I’m not expecting a monster, but I’ll take 60 yards and a TD from a bargain basement RB.

Kerryon Johnson, Colts:

Kerryon usually gets the first crack at opposing offenses, or at least he has so far this season, and he actually scored last week. I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds some early success against the Jets.

Tight End

Logan Thomas, Washington: Thomas has had at least 8 targets in both games this season, and he gets the Browns this week, who have allowed the most points to TEs so far. I’d say that’s more than enough reason to roll with him this week.

Drew Sample, Bengals: TE C.J. Uzomah had a season ending achilles tear last week, making Sample the new starting TE for the Bengals. He’ll serve as a safety blanket to Joe Burrow this week versus the 4th best TE matchup in football right now, the Eagles

Quarterback

Mitchell Trubisky, Bears:

I don’t trust Trubisky as a long term solution in Chicago, but I do feel confident enough to stream him against the Falcons this week. No team has allowed more fantasy points to QBs this season.

  1. You are up late working hard Trashman! You like Josh Kelley over Allen Lazard at FLEX in a 1-point PPR season league too?

    1. Kelley has already taken over that Melvin Gordon role from 2019. He has a nice floor and upside. Lazard a fine play today but JK is your guy

    2. Working Hard and Trashman do not belong in same sentence!!! I would play Kelley

      1. Thank you gentlemen!

  2. Need one flex:

    Slayton
    Singletary
    Montgomery
    Robbie Anderson

And Chargers D or Pats D

    1. Monty

      Probably Chargers D

  3. non-PPR. MVS or Pittman?

    1. Prob MVS w/ Adams out

  4. Post By Srogerss90@hotmail.com

Need a tight end ppr Noah Fant or Tyler Higbee

    1. Go with the rankings!

  5. Golladay isn’t 100%, but I have to play him over DJax right?

    1. Yes

  6. Trade my Antonio Gibson for Jonnu Smith. My TE is Hockenson. Its a PPR and my other rbs are Drake Gurley Akers Snell Edmonds

    1. Nope

  7. If Julio sits would you play Russell gage over Kenny Golladay with the injury?

    1. No

  8. Kerryon Johnson got traded to the Colts last night? Woah, breaking news!

Seriously though, I like Taylor this week, but that’s not a garbage grab. Do you like Kerryon vs. the Cards?

    1. Its hard to trust any Lions RB. But at least you can project K for 5-8 touches if you are desperate.

  9. PPR: Start Frank Gore, Cole Beasley, or Chris Hogan? Yea, I know, true dumpster diving. 🙂

    1. no joke, If Berrios sits I might actually roll with Hogan. If not, Gore

    PPR League
    Davante Adams situation

    Need a Flex

Have Adams in Flex as of now but it’s not looking good for him playing and a 50% Adams vs. Lattimore does not sound appealing

    So….
    I got
    A. Gibson
    G.Tate
    D. Sample
or J. Kelley ( but I have Eckler starting on this team already )
    Can I double dip?
    Wait for Adams

    As of now …
    MVS
    T. Smith
and Hardman are on waivers if Adams gets the OUT tag

    Double dip or wait
I just think Kelley is a better play than all 3 of those guys if I wait
    Thanks in advance

    1. I would double dip vs the #1 matchup – if not I’d probably play AG— but I don’t hate any of those dudes- Sample and Tate are more sneaky trash plays- but I like them as well.

    2. i think Kelley is ok to double up with considering the matchup, but MVS willbe a strong option with considerable upside, if Adams can’t go. Only problem is you might have to wait till tonight to find that out. Kelley may be your safest play, considering that.

  11. Need input,

    12 team. Full point ppr. 0-2 record…

Would you trade OBJ to receive David Johnson? (May be able to counter to get Gurley as well)

And would you start Jeff wilson, Antonio Gibson (or the result if the trade above) at rb2.

    Rest of roster
    Drake/Edmonds
    J howard
    James White (IR)
    Ozigbo (IR)

    Hopkins
    Robert Woods
    Ceedee
    Corey Davis
    OBJ

    Logan Thomas

    Thank you

    1. Yeah looks like you could use DJ- I would do it.

Then I would choose b/t DJ and AG for this wk

      1. Thanks Byron

  12. for a flex — Josh Kelley or CeeDee Lamb? thanks

    1. Goodness gracious— probably Kelley but love them both. Two awesome options!

  13. 0.5ppr Start 2: Robert Woods, David Johnson, Trequan Smith or Antonio Gibson?

    1. Probably Johnson or Gibson

  14. Aj green or Gurley or gibson in my flex ppr?

  15. Is the Robot Genius available? Need his advice

(1ppr): FLEX Spot: MIXON, Marquise BROWN, or R. WOODS?

(.5ppr) FLEX Spot: MIXON or MOORE?

    1. not this early in the season unfortunately, needs more input. I lean Mixon for both. If you can afford a low floor in that spot, Brown has major upside in this matchup though

1 Pt PPR Superflex league. Need 2 between Helaire, Jonathan Taylor and Sanders. Am I crazy to consider benching my No. 1 Pick helaire this week. My QBs are Murray & Ryan.

Receiver wise I need 2 between Woods, Fuller, Gage, Hurst (We don’t have to start a TE), and MVS

    1. It’s not crazy, considering the circumstances. His offense is just so much better than the Eagles’ right now, and with no Watkins, CEH would be involved even more. MVS playing the night game takes him out for me. We may not know if Adams is going for awhile, and I don’t trust Fuller after last week. I’d go Woods, even in a tough matchup, and Gage. Julio might be more of a decoy even if he does go.

  17. Ppr, my wifes team is plagued with injuries, her flex spot has her starting Tarik cohen. Do you think she should play cohen, or grab Adam Humphries or Jeff Wilson from above?

    1. Jeff Wilson could see 20 touches today, would not shock me. I’d go with him.

  18. Thanks Byron

  19. Tannehill or Brady? (6 pt passing td)

Lamb, Slayton, Woods, Djax pick two (2) in ppr?

Swift, Gibson, D.Lewis, J.Wilson pick two (2) in ppr?

Kupp, Hollywood, D.Henderson pick one (1) WR and one (1) flex in ppr?

    1. Tannehill is red hot. Ride him

Lamb and SLatyon are great choices there

      Gibson and Wilson

Hollywood is the Nuclear option on your third league

  20. Need 2 WR from C. Godwin, JJ Smith-Schuster, R Woods, C Lamb In PPR
-Should I be hesitant to play Godwin coming back from concussion?

    1. Great options, tough choices. A concussion is an “either or” situation. Either you have t or you don’t. If Godwin back safe to assume no lingering effects,

Godwin and Lamb are the players I’d start. But JJSS is always a threat for a big game. Good luck

  21. 1 pt ppr need 2 of the following: David Montgomery, joe Mixon, and Joshua Kelley.

    1. montgomery and mixon based on touches. kelley is very tempting though

Ppr league no Saquon, Joshua Kelly or ja McKinnon thanks in advance !

  23. Trying to get in the win column this week. Trying to sort this thing out and seperate e starters from the bench. Full PPR. I need one WR, and two flex

    Evans @ DEN
    Godwin @ DEN
    Allen vs CAR
    Slayton vs SF
    Mixon @ PHI
    Montgomery @ATL

    1. I think you have to play the two Bucs and Mixon. I would probably try to trade one of those Bucs in the future so you don’t have to decide between them every week though.

      1. That’s what I already had penciled in, so thanks for the confirmation. Yeah, I agree on the Bucs WRs. Godwin fell into my lap on waivers. Some numbskull dropped him after week one for Corey Davis when his concussion popped up. That’s how you separate the men from the boys in this game. Couldn’t miss out on him.

As of now, which one would you rather keep going forward?

  24. I could see Cohen getting some run if the Bears fall into a negative game script. I think Wilson has the best chance to score though.

  25. Flex. Marvin Jones or Fornette. 5 PPR. Thanks

    1. denver has only allowed 1 rushing TD so far. i think jones offers more upside this week

  26. I failed to mention I have Josh Kelly as Well.

  27. (1PPR) Need RB:

    *CEH vs Bal

    *J.KELLEY vs Car

  28. A couple of last minute second guessing
    ODB or Golladay?
    Junno Smith or J Cook

    Thank you

    1. OBJ and Jared Cook for me.

      1. Awesomeness, you guys work until the very end. Much appreciated.

  29. Listened to your show this AM, studied your rankings, Flex picks, Match up toll… then had a beer to think about it
Need to start 1 of these in PPR CD Lamb or JJ Smith Schuester
Which one should I roll out this weekend?

    1. ha, you’re off to a good start this week! That’s a really tough Q and you obviously have an awesome team. As much as I hate to say it I think it is probably JuJu unless you are really feeling Ceedee, which would be fine. Both our model and the Vegas Tool have Juju but only slightly, by less than a point in both instances with JuJu have the higher projected ceiling by just over one point. I wish I could give you a lock of an answer. All the tools say SLIGHT lean to JuJu but I really hate to recommend against Lamb. Drink another beer then follow your gut! 😉

  30. I’m injury riddled, please help!

    Tate or N. Hines?
    Hooper or Sample?

    1. Non-PPR

  31. Stafford or Tannehill?

  32. QB question
I have T Brady 4 point per passing TD league
    Available are: Tannehill Rivers Trubisky

or wait and either keep rolling with or put together a trade package next week?

  33. Ppr need one Ingram, Kelley, Hollywood or dionte Johnson?

  34. Post By mikek4422@gmail.com

    Need a TE

    Higbee
    or
    Sample
