Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 8

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 8

Like ancient alchemists, we’re turning ordinary players into fantasy gold right before out very eyes. Hope these get you over the mid-season hump…

Quarterback

Derek Carr, Raiders: If you were looking to get away with playing Carr at some point this season, here’s your best chance. Yes, he’s lost his “star” receiver in Amari Cooper, but he’s also lost his power back in Marshawn Lynch, so he’s going to have to improvise in the form of Jordy Nelson, Martavis Bryant, Jared Cook and Jalen Richard(I don’t really count Doug Martin as part of the passing game). If you were offered that group two years ago, you’d feel pretty stoked. The Colts defense is a middle of the road unit, so Carr shouldn’t have much trouble, if he can stay out of his own way.

Running Back

Kenjon Barner, Patriots: Sony Michel got some practice in, but he’s not a lock to play Monday night. It’s not convenient that this game is the last one on the Week 8 slate, but Barner could come in handy for LeSean McCoy owners, if Shady can’t go.

LeGarrette Blount, Lions: Blount has scored 3 TDs over his last two games and gotten double digit touches in 3 of his last 4 contests. Kerryon Johnson is playing well, and that seems to rub off own Blount who gets to vulture the TDs.

Trenton Cannon, Jets: Cannon is taking over as the 3rd down back for Bilal Powell, who is lost for the year – maybe more. The Jets are going to have a hard time running right at Chicago, so Cannon could come in handy catching passes out of the backfield.

Wide Receiver

Tre’quan Smith, Saints: Smith is settling in as the number 3 pass catcher in New Orleans behind Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara. It’s only a matter of time before he’s producing on the regular, and this week against Minnesota is a good opportunity to start that trend. Thomas will get the heavy coverage, so the matchup isn’t as bad as you might think for Smith,

Christian Kirk, Cardinals: I’m excited to see how the Cardinals adjust to not having Mike McCoy holding them back every week with his anemic play-calling. Kirk should be a major beneficiary of the new look offense under Byron Leftwich.

Donte Moncrief, Jaguars: Moncrief has been the Jags’ best receiver to this point of the season. Outside of the Dallas debacle in Week 6, he’s been a 75+ yard receiver over his last 4 games, and he gets a sweet matchup with Philly this week.

Martavis Bryant, Raiders: Bryant could be the new 1B in Oakland now that Amari Cooper is gone and Jordy Nelson is the assumed 1A. In fact, Bryant could move ahead of Nelson at some point, as Nelson isn’t the athlete he once was, while Bryant’s missteps are mostly off the field. He needs to be rostered in most formats, and he’s a sneaky upside play this week against the Colts.

Tight End

Chris Herndon, Jets: Herndon has scored in his last 2 games, as he’s quickly become a favorite target for Sam Darnold. A rookie QB loves his tight end, especially against a tough defense like Chicago’s.

  1. Any further news on on Marion Mack? – Alex Dunlap talked about him on Sirius radio last night noting he was limited Friday. Yet I thought I saw a report today of FP on Friday. Still listed as Q tho.

    1. So would you go with Mack today over Kerryon Johnson – thanks

        1. yet RW ranks Mack higher than Johnson — may just flip a coin

    2. He should be good to go according to the most recent news

  2. I know ARob out = #MillerTime, according RW twitter. But rational minds would probably start Trequan, Godwin, Watkins, or Martavis over Miller, no?

Maybe not over Trequan, but yeah.

    Chubb, Ingram, Kerryon

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

I think sit Ingram. Looks the worst in terms of time-share.

  8. Standard

    Chubb or Kerryon?

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

      Chubb methinks.

  9. Drop Watkins for Miller?

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

I wouldn’t blame you if you did. It’d be an upside grab.

  10. Marvin Jones , Alex Collins or Mostert . I need 2 please

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

      Not high on Jones.

  11. PPR. Doug Martin a better stash than Ito?

    Thanks

    1. I don’t think so, at least not as far as talent goes

  12. Start Aaron Rogers or Jameis Winston today?

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

That’s tough. Conventional wisdom, I think, says you dance with who brung ya (so that’s probably Rodgers). But the matchup shouts at you to start Winston.

If it means anything, I’m starting Winston over Big Ben.

  13. Need 2. .5ppr Njoku, Kittle, Gabriel, Cobb

  14. I could use some help choosing between Mostert, Breida, or Martavis Bryant? Full ppr. Thanks!!

  15. M Goodwin or Hogan ? half point ppr.
Goodwin might have PP covering him…

  16. You’re a disgusting disgrace.
You don’t have five minutes to call into the show and do a garbage grab?
    You make me sick.
    No robot genius.
    No garbage grab.
When’s the last time all three of you were on the show together?
Tell that dbag Deutsch that us west coasters need you to be on later Sunday mornings…
    Play the fucking song!
Never stop playing that damn song.

    1. LOL, thank you Frank Grimes!

  17. Byron: trade ?

    Aaron Rodgers and Marvin Jones

    For

    Emmanuel Sanders and Dion Lewis

    WR’s going forward

    Julio Jones
    Golladay
    C Kirk
    Tre’Quan Smith

  18. I should add that I do have Goff currently at QB

  19. Are we still holding Fournette? I am down in Jax and have a sneaky suspicion that he goes on IR very soon.

  20. Hello???
