Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 9

Trashman Header                      Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 9

I hope this fantasy football weekend provides you with some much needed relaxation after what has been a hectic week to many. Here’s the Grab for Week 9….

Running Back

Tony Pollard, Cowboys

The Cowboys are planning on being without Zeke Elliott this week, making Pollard the next man up. Dallas plays Pittsburgh this week, so he won’t have an easy time making inroads, but Pollard should exceed 15 touches and is worth flexing.

Josh Kelley, Chargers

Kelley hasn’t been the even the 2nd best back on the Chargers, that’s been Troymaine Pope recently, but Pope is out this week and there’s a chance that Keenan Allen will be as well. The Chargers play the Raiders this week, and the Raiders have allowed the 3rd most rushing TDs this season, so there’s a good chance Kelley finds the end-zone.

Jordan Howard, Patrick Laird, Dolphins

With no Myles Gaskin or Matt Breida available this week, the Dolphins will lean on Howard and Laird in the run game. I imagine they’ll both get quite a bit of run, as Tua Tagovailoa is still getting used to the speed of the game. Howard has better TD odds, but Laird makes for the better PPR play.

Wide Receiver

Tim Patrick, Broncos

Patrick missed his last game with a hamstring injury, but he’s either gone over 100 yards or scored in 3 of the 4 games prior. He faces an Atlanta team this week that has allowed the second most yards to WRs in the league, so there’s a good chance that he reaches the century mark again.

Jakobi Meyers, Patriots

Meyers led the Pats with 10 targets last week, with Julian Edelman and N’Keal Harry out, and he’s a strong contender to do it again, except this time he’ll be up against the Jets and not the Bills.

Marvin Hall, Lions

Quintez Cephus was the guy who filled in Kenny Golladay’s shoes at the beginning of the season, but Hall seems to be the preferred WR at this point in the season. I’m not enamored by either player, but the matchup with Minnesota is too hard to pass up. The Vikings have allowed the most TDs to WRs in the league and are the no.2 matchup this week. Hall makes for a deep league hail mary.

Tight End

Dalton Schultz, Cowboys

With a brand new QB under center and potentially no Zeke Elliott around, Schultz will serve as a safety blanket to Garrett Gilbert. Gilbert may see a season high in targets.

Logan Thomas, Washington

Before the Week 8 bye, Thomas had scored in Washington’s previous 2 games, including against this week’s opponent, the Giants. With Kyle Allen under center, Thomas has another good chance to find the end-zone.

Quarterback

Drew Lock, Broncos

Lock threw over 40 passes and had 3 TDs last week against the Chargers, and he’ll probably find his way into another shootout this week against Atlanta, and they’re easier to throw against.

  1. I need a flex
Juedy, D Parker, J Taylor, DJ Dallas, C Davis
    Thank you

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Corey Davis has been under the radar productive. You can feel confident starting him. Taylor has the upside but in a 3 man committee

  2. Thanks Trashman for your Garbage Grab!

    Matthew Stafford or Drew Lock?
Gus Edwards or D.J. Chark as a Flex? 1 point PPR.

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Stafford still a better projection than Lock. But its close.

Edwards has a nice floor with some TD equity. Start him over Chark. New QB in Jax lets see how that plays out

Good morning, PPR please rank these players in the order which you would play them today: J. Jackson, M. Gordon, C. Godwin (if active) as I am going to need 1 for sure and may need 2 if K. Allen is out. Thanks

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

      Jackson
      Godwin (if Active)
      MG

      Good luck!

  4. I need to replace Ridley…

I have Chark and Ruggs on the bench or I can pick up C Kirk…

Full point ppr, trying to stay unbeaten.

Chark is interesting with the new QB. Sometimes it is a boost to the player’s value and other times it crashes.

I’d play Chark bc you can project him for more targets.

      Good luck!

  5. Good morning! Looking for advice for 3 flex spots in my ppr league. Need to pick 3 between JuJu, swift, dobbins, crowder and Hollywood brown. Thanks!

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Dobbins should be locked and loaded in your lineup until further notice.

JJSS has been getting enough targets to play lately.

The last spot is interesting bc HWB made some noise this week about not getting the ball. That can be followed with a heavy target game. I would have FOMO on a big swift game though.

I’d go Swift, but be prepared for a HWB monster on your bench.

I’m a Kittle owner that is now starting Cook as my weekly TE. I have K. Allen, C. Godwin, T. Maclaurin, and M. Brown. Do I drop CD Lamb and pick up Z. Ertz? 2 RB 2 WR, 2 FLEX PPR. My RBs are Zeke, C Mac, Gaskin, and J Jackson. (I have Pollard)

    Thanks

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

I think Jared Cook is well inside that TE1 cutline. You can start him with reasonable confidence he gets you 10 PPR points, with some upside. I would try not to drop CDL if possible. Ertz was not performing well when he was healthy.

  7. If Zeke sits, who do I start at Flex in PPR?

    Pollard, Gus, Jamison Crowder

    1. I’d just make it easy and go Pollard. Doesn’t Gus play before we might know?

Hey full point ppr need a flex and a Tight end

    Justin Jefferson
    Brandin Cooks
    Ceedee Lamb
    Christian Kirk
    Mecole Hardman
    Deejay Dallas

    Gronk or Fant

Thanks in advance need a W

    1. jeez those are some tough choices, if it were me I’d go J Jefferson and Fant. GL dude.

      1. Thanks boss. Yeah you’re right, gametime decision for Zeke.

    Will you rank these wrs:
    Mike Evans
    Antonio brown
    Marquise brown
    Dj chark
    Keenan Allen
    Diontae Johnson
I need to start 2 in a ppr league

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Keenan Allen and Mike Evans are the best bets. But any of these guys could have a big day. Good luck!

  10. Need 2 for WR. 0.5 ppr.

    Ruggs III
    Tim Patrick
    Marvin Hall
    Mims
    Cobb

Unfortunately, I have Golladay out and Kupp and Higgins on bye.

    Leaning towards Patrick and Ruggs.

    Thoughts? Thank you!

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Patrick and Hall are the best bets here. But I totally understand the Ruggs play. Not bad at all. Good luck!

  11. Post By BluntTrauma 57

In another league I need one of these wrs and 2 rbs
    Corey Davis or marquise brown
Zach moss jk dobbins and Justin jackson

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Corey Davis has been getting it done. HWB has the squeaky wheel narrative this week. I’d go Davis but prepare for a HWB monster on your bench.

Dobbins and JJ would be my picks for RB. Goos luck!

1 Pt PPR – Need two between Hardman, Mooney, Marvin Hall or Crowder. Desperate for win.

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Hardman is a strong start. I like Mooney but it was Hall who had the big game. Toss up between those 2, I’d lean Mooney

  13. Hardman over Godwin this week in a PPR ?

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

This may be the last week we can start Hardman with confidence, it comes on a week you want to see what you got with Godwin. Of course this can go sideways on you but I like that call of Hardman over Godwin. Good luck!

    Jeez, prob Godwin-

    1. LOL thanks for the clarity

What do we do with JT ROS?

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Hold him, he still has viability/playability and Wilkins has an injury history. Adjust expectations but he is a hold for sure

Hey guys pro member for a few years beer you’re help.
2keeper league i hAve Mike Thomas
And Henry as keepers 1pt ppr.
Am I crazy to trade Henry for kelce and gain a 5th round pick ? Or do I keep henry

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

      Hi Matt:

I’d hold onto Henry, those workhorse backs are too rare to let go. I get the appeal of Kelce (and the pick) but Henry holds to much value.
