Trashman’s Week 1 Garbage Grab

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 1

Hopefully it’s too early in the season for you to need these guys, but here they are just in case. Proceed with a sliver of caution…

Running Back

Khalil Herbert, Bears – 32% rostered

Herbert is going to flirt with double digit touches in this offense. D’andre Swift wasn’t built to be a bellcow back, and the Bears will spell him to keep him healthy. And we know how efficient Herbert is with his touches, so he can do a lot with a little.

Wide Receivers

DeMario Douglas, Patriots – 16% rostered

Douglas is the no.1 WR on a bad Patriots offense. The good thing is that they’ll be playing from behind a lot, so Douglas will get plenty of looks, starting in Week 1.

Adonai Mitchell, Colts – 32% rostered

Josh Downs isn’t available this week, so Mitchell will play in 3-wide sets. A magnificent route runner with YAC expertise, Mitchell only needs a few targets to make fantasy owners squeal in delight.

Brandin Cooks, Cowboys – 32% rostered

The Cowboys run game leaves much to be desired, but they have some studs at the WR position. Cooks is one of them. Against a tough Cleveland defense that will do its best to stymie CeeDee Lamb, Cooks will get enough targets to be used in PPR formats.

Tight End

Zach Ertz, Commanders – 6% rostered

Ertz is the starting TE on a team with a rookie QB. It’s a match made in heaven, as Jayden Daniels will need his blankie to feel safe. Ertz represents tremendous value right now.

Quarterback

Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers – 33% rostered

Mayfield is no longer a question mark in fantasy. Aided by one of the better veteran receiving corps in the league, he’ll have a field day against a sieve-like Washington defense.
