Trashman’s Week 13 Garbage Grab
Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 13
As depth charts wobble and bye weeks chew through your roster, it’s time to get creative. Let’s dig into the garbage and grab the guys who can keep your lineup afloat…
Running Back
Chris Rodriguez, Commanders – 23% rostered
Rodriguez has a matchup only a mother could love this week, but with goal line duties in tow and coming off a 15 carry WK11 before the bye, there are worse options at RB.
Bam Knight, Cardinals – 24% rostered
Knight is questionable, but with Michael Carter as the only other option in Arizona, Knight makes for a solid start if he goes. Their opponent, the Buccaneers, are a top 10 matchup for opposing RBs, so the outlook is far from grim.
Wide Receiver
Jayden Higgins, Texans – 34% rostered
Higgins is developing into a certified fantasy stud as the no.2 in Houston, or at least he was when Davis Mills was under center. CJ Stroud will start this week, and though it’s yet to be seen whether he’ll have the same affinity for Higgins, it’s a gamble worth risking. He’s scored in 3 of his last 5 games and averaged 8 targets over his last 3 outings.
Chimere Dike, Titans – 20% rostered
Dike looks like the Titans’ no.1 WR, a title that would hold more weight on any other team, but still makes him worth flexing, especially in return yardage leagues. Up against a ho-hum Jaguars secondary this week, Dike should find plenty of room to run.
John Metchie III, Jets – 14% rostered
Metchie is the go-to in New York while Garrett Wilson sits, scoring in back-to-back games since WK11. He’ll look to make the hat-trick this week against a vulnerable Falcons secondary. Adonai Mitchell is an interesting play in DFS tourneys as well – He’s getting enough snaps and targets to pop.
Tight End
Brenton Strange, Jaguars – 30% rostered
Strange led the Jags in receiving(5-93) in WK12, his first week back after a hip injury sidelined him for 5 games. He was a streaming option before the injury and he’s a streaming option now.
Quarterback
Cam Ward, Titans – 8% rostered
Ward has been unplayable in fantasy for the majority of his rookie season, but we saw a glimmer of hope in WK12 when he started using his legs to extend plays and get in the endzone. To his credit, he’s had arguably the toughest schedule for a QB so far this season, but he’ll get a slight reprieve this week against a Jags team that’s a top 5 matchup for opposing QBs.
