Trashman’s Week 14 Garbage Grab

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 14

The waiver wire may look like a post-holiday yard sale, but fear not because one person’s trash is your serviceable flex play. Grab your gloves — it’s time to rummage…

Running Back

Samaje Perine, Bengals – 5% rostered
Perine logged 16 touches in WK13, more than some starting RBs. He’s not going to leapfrog Chase Brown, but he could flirt with double-digit touches again this week against Buffalo’s run-funnel defense.

Chris Rodriguez, Commanders – 37% rostered
Rodriguez was here last week, but I had to have him back as Jayden Daniels is making his return this week. Opponents will have to respect the pass more moving forward, opening even more lanes for Washington’s de facto starter, starting this week against a middling Vikings front.

Wide Receiver

Devaughn Vele, Saints – 15% rostered
Vele led the Saints in receiving(8-93-1) last week and has found a nice stride with rookie QB Tyler Shough. That was against Miami’s top 5 secondary. He’ll have a much better matchup this week against Tampa that will offer a path to consistent fantasy production.

Luther Burden, Bears – 14% rostered
Burden is in line to be 2nd or maybe even 1st in target share this week, with no Rome Odunze(foot) around. In either case, the dynamic rookie is worth a deep league flex start.

Adonai Mitchell, Jets  – 26% rostered
Last week, Mitchell took his place as the “no.1” WR in New York with Garret Wilson sidelined, leading the way with an 8-102-1 line. Wilson and Mitchell are very similar if you squint, so Mitchell’s upside is real on a weekly basis. His matchup against Miami won’t be easy, but Mitchell should get enough targets to make it worth your while.

Tight End

Darren Waller, Dolphins – 35% rostered

Waller only had 47 yards in his first game back from a 5-week injury layoff, but it was enough to lead the Dolphins in receiving. He’ll continue to get healthier and potentially do more damage against a just OK Jets group this week.

Quarterback

Tyrod Taylor, Jets – 14% rostered
Taylor has been a much more consistent QB than Justin Fields during his time as a starter in New York, culminating in a 2 TD win against Atlanta last week. What puts Taylor over the top as a fantasy streamer is his ability to eat up yards on the ground. If he continues to use his legs, as he very well should, Taylor will have another stream-worthy start against Miami this week.
