Trashman’s Week 4 Garbage Grab
Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 4
The fantasy season waits for no one, and neither do the dumpster divers. Injuries and plain old underperformance have forced managers to dig deep, and that’s where the Garbage Grab shines. Hold your breath and take a dive…
Running Back
Chris Rodriguez, Commanders – 39% rostered
Rodriguez isn’t an exciting player in his own right, but he’ll get plenty of opportunities, including most of the goal line chances, for Washington this week. Jeremy McNichols isn’t a bad play ether in PPR formats.
Ollie Gordon, Dolphins – 31% rostered
Gordon only got 3 fewer carries than De’Von Achane last week and found the endzone to boot. A bruiser of a back, Gordon’s only going to get more involved in the offense as the season wears on.
Wide Receiver
Elic Ayomanor – 31% rostered
Ayamanor is still woefully unowned in most leagues, despite averaging 6 targets a game and scoring in back to back contests coming into WK4. In a Titans offense that figures to be playing from behind for the near future, he’s an upstart playmaker with a decent floor against a middling Texans secondary.
Christian Kirk, Texans – 35% rostered
Kirk saw 8 targets in his first game this season, and despite only notching 25 yards on 3 catches, his usage is encouraging. The Texans sorely need playmakers and Kirk fits the bill when he’s healthy. The Titans are a top 5 matchup for opposing WRs right now.
Sterling Shepard, Buccaneers – 4% rostered
The loss of Mike Evans for the time being makes Shepard a viable PPR play even if Chris Godwin makes his debut this week. It makes sense to roster him in formats that give 1 or more points for receptions.
Tight End
Brenton Strange, Jaguars – 28% rostered
He’s yet to find the endzone, but Strange has been no stranger to 50+ yard games this season, surpassing the mark twice in 3 games. Against a 49ers offense that bends and bends, Strange is a suitable PPR play.
Quarterback
Carson Wentz, Vikings – 8% rostered
Ok, he’s not ideal, but Wentz is a former starting QB in the NFL who has some of the league’s most capable targets at his disposal against a top 5 matchup for opposing QBs in the Steelers. He’s a stinky but steady streaming option.
