Trashman’s Week 5 Garbage Grab
Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 5
It’s Week 5, and though the weather is cooling, these trashy treasures are just starting to heat up. Handle these hotties with care…
Running Back
Tyjae Spears, Titans – 25% rostered
Spears already flirts with double-digit touches on a weekly basis, but with Treylon Burks out this week he could see even more action in the passing game. Already seeing over 50% of offensive snaps, it’s only a matter of time before Spears breaks out, and he’s in a perfect spot to do so against a lackluster Bengals defense.
Wide Receivers
Rashee Rice, Chiefs – 36% rostered
Rice’s role has grown on week by week, as the other pass-catchers behind Travis Kelce have been shrinking away. The Chiefs will have their cushiest matchup yet this season against a Vikings team that is our 3rd best matchup for opposing WRs, so expect a shootout with the equally vertically endowed Minnesota offense. It’s shrewd to grab a piece of either offense and Rice stands to contribute mightily.
Kwamie Lassiter, Bengals – 0% rostered
Tee Higgins won’t play this week, leaving Ja’Maar Chase, Tyler Boyd and perhaps spring camp standout Lassiter to fill in the gap. Boyd has been pedestrian all season, so perhaps this is a chance for Lassiter to display the on field prowess that gave him a buzz in camp.
Wan’Dale Robinson, Giants – 21% rostered
Wan’Dale’s snap count has gone up in increments since being activated in WK3, logging 22 and then 64% of snaps. He’s in a spot to feast this week against a 10th worst Dolphins pass defense in a game that will require the Giants to take some chances to keep up with Miami.
Tight End
Jonnu Smith, Falcons – 15% rostered
Smith is seeing the field about as much as fellow Falcons TE Kyle Pitts, but he’s doing more with his chances. Averaging 7 targets a game, Smith is looking to build off of his 6/95 WK4 performance against a Texans team that is brutal for WRs but middling against TEs.
Quarterback
Joshua Dobbs, Cardinals – 20% rostered
Outside of WK1, Dobbs is averaging top 10 QB numbers in fantasy, which should come as a surprise to all of us. Disbelief suspended, Dobbs has perhaps his best matchup of the season this week against a Bengals team that is the 11th best matchup for opposing QBs this season.
