Trashman’s Week 9 Garbage Grab

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 9

Week 9 is another 10 game slate, so the cupboard is bare so to speak. That being said, there are a few good men left to procure from waivers just in time to dominate your foes. Have at em…

Running Back

Keaontay Ingram, Cardinals – 15% rostered

It’s a sad state of affairs for the Cardinals backfield right now, and Ingram is arguably the last line of defense. Tony Jones is kicking around back there too, but Ingram is the “vet” so he should see the bulk of carries this week. The matchup isn’t ideal, the Browns are a stalwart bunch, but Ingram should see enough touches to generate decent flex appeal.

Wide Receivers

Demario Douglas, Patriots – 32% rostered

Douglas only caught 5 passes for 25 yards in WK8, but he led all Pats WRs in snaps(41). With Kenrick Bourne out for the season and DeVante Parker out with a concussion, he’s set to pace New England WRs in snaps again this week.

Quentin Johnston, Chargers – 22% rostered

Johnston’s rookie season has been a letdown up to this point, but necessity has him in a prime position to flourish in WK9. Josh Palmer(knee) is out, leaving Johnston to be the no.2 WR behind Keenan Allen, a position that usually proves fruitful for whoever fills it. Johnston had 5 catches for 50 yards in WK8, and he’ll likely best that line in WK9, even against the Jets.

Van Jefferson, Falcons – 4% rostered

Drake London left WK8 with a groin injury, and he’s out in WK9 because of it. Jefferson is new to the Falcons, but he’s already slated to be the no.1 WR for the Falcons this week, playing ahead of Mack Hollins. Expectations are low, but the matchup with the Vikings is cherry.

Tight End

Hunter Henry, Patriots – 35% rostered

Pass catchers are hard to come by for the Patriots this week, and along with Demario Douglas, Henry could see a significant uptick in targets as a result. He’ll only be as good as Mac Jones’ arm, but the matchup with Washington gives a soft cushion.

Quarterback

Gardner Minshew, Colts – 16% rostered

Minshew was here last week, and he put up 19 fantasy points against a formidable Saints front. There aren’t any better lightly owned options at QB this week, and Minshew actually gets a significantly easier matchup with the Panthers, so roll him out again.
