Trashman’s Week 9 Garbage Grab
Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 9
Week 9 brings us a bevy of bountiful WR options. Unfortunately, RB isn’t nearly as robust, but beggars can’t be choosers when it comes to fantasy. Here’s the Week 9 Grab….
Running Back
Jaleel McLaughlin, Broncos – 17% rostered
McLaughlin’s 56 scrimmage yards led the Broncos last week, and he also found the endzone. The matchup with Carolina was right, and though the opponent(Baltimore) has a much better rush defense, McLaughlin could see close to double-digit touches again this week.
Roschon Johnson, Bears – 13% rostered
Johnson is heavily TD dependent, but he’s scored 4 TDs in his last 4 games. Arizona, his opponent this week, is a top 5 matchup for opposing runners, so Roschon stands to get at least a few goal line opportunities this week.
Wide Receivers
Jalen McMillan, Buccaneers – 37% rostered
McMillan could operate as the no.1 WR for the Bucs this week, as virtually every other Bucs starter is hobbled. McMillan himself is questionable(hamstring), but he should be able to go. With 15 targets and 2 designed runs dialed up over the past 2 weeks, McMillan’s role will continue to grow this week.
Jalen Coker, Panthers – 9% rostered
Shrine Bowl standout, Coker could find himself as the de facto no.1 WR for the Panthers, now that Xavier Legette is questionable. Even if Legette goes, Coker will be an important asset for the Panthers offense, as Diontae Johnson is now a Raven.
Parker Washington, Jaguars – 4% rostered
Like Coker, Washington could become a major cog in the Jaguars offense due to the litany of injuries the Jags’ pass-catchers have undergone. Playing 76% of snaps in WK8, Washington will continue to see significant playing time as a potential lead target getter in WK9.
Tight End
Jonnu Smith, Dolphins – 9% rostered
Even with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle back with their believed Tua, Smith managed to garner 6 targets in WK8. He didn’t do a whole lot with them, but Smith will get better, if not more targets from a QB who is working back to his previous form.
Quarterback
Bo Nix, Broncos – 34% rostered
Nix is starting to click with the Denver offense, throwing over 200 yards in 3 of his last 4 games and throwing 7 TDs. I liked him in camp, and I like him even more now, as he’s commanding the offense like a pro. Nix gets a soft Ravens secondary this week that just got exposed by Jameis Winston to the tune of 334 yards and 3 TDs.
