*****As a reminder, we always recommend using the Cheat Sheet in conjunction with the Vegas Tool once it is published Saturday evenings as Vegas almost always identifies a few value plays who aren’t necessarily on the sheet, but may provide excellent flexibility cap-wise. Sometimes we will update the sheet through the weekend as information comes in from injury reports, Vegas or elsewhere*****

HOW DOES THE SHEET WORK?

THE GOAL of the sheet is to reduce the number of players for the weekly slate to players expected to generate Positive Surplus Value (fantasy points over salary expected points). The player pool is narrowed down to players who meet a minimum number of trends.

THE TRENDS are a series of pass/fail threshold tests of position-specific stats predictors. Through the use of predictive models, we have analyzed every predictive metric we could for each position related to Vegas Indicators, Unit Matchups, Individual Matchups, Historical Performance, Game Script, Weather, and so much more.

Using a non-linear model, we’ve found BASELINES for each metric. For each baseline TREND TEST, if the player passed, he receives a [+1]. For example, using the Matchup Tool Rankings vs. QBs, the model found that an Opponent Ranking ranked in the bottom (9) teams allow on average +3.7 surplus points to opposing QBs. If the QB’s matchup is ranked worse than the baseline, the QB receives [+1] trend. In addition to positive trends, negative trends are also included. The model found that the top ranked pass defenses vs. QBs allow on average -5.4 surplus points.

    1. Message alex @alexdunlapnfl

  2. Need one of these 3 to start
    I Crowell
    B Powell
    J white

    1. PPR?

      1. I forgot to add that is if Sony doesn’t go. Otherwise I would go Crowell.

      2. Like it! Thx Eyak

  3. Thanks for all your help with the draft. You guys are the best!

I could use some help with my flex. ,5ppr. Need one of the following:

    C. Kupp
    K. Johnson
    P. Barber
    S. Watkins
    Miller time
    J. Nelson

    Thanks again.

    1. I would roll with Johnson.

    2. Jeez what a treasure trove of options! I’d roll Kupp or Barber. Have a great Week 1!

  4. The FD Sheet says Gronk is $6900, he’s actually $7900

    1. Thank you , fixing now!

  5. Luck or Stafford wk 1?

    1. Stafford. I wanna see what luck has before I play him

      1. Thank you Eyak. Agree on Stafford here!

        1. No problem. You know I’m a freak and enjoy giving some input.

        2. Thanks.

  6. Who do I drop for a kicker: Gio Bernard or Devontae Booker? League is 1 ppr and 0.25 point per carry and I do own Royce Freeman. I would love to trade Bernard to the Mixon owner(or vice versa), but that happens to be my brother and don’t want the league to yell collusion. Thanks guys!

    1. Booker. He was only worth a little something because it sounded like he was going to be the starter week 1

    1. LOL, this is a very close call. Those guys were basically back 2 back on the CS for similar reasons. I actually think Booker has a bigger opportunity to surprise but also the bigger opportunity to disappoint if Royce runs aways with it. Gio is more likely locked in to a very low end flex role form the outset, but you know what you’re getting. And, he’d be a solid option if Mixon goes down. His primary value is to the Mixon owner, though. You may have to ultimately drop him too. Hate to just drop him for your brother to vulture for free. I tend to lean slightly towards Booker here in a vacuum just to see if there’s a jack in the box.

  7. Is Doug Martin worth a handcuff for Beast Mode? Groin issues usually seem to linger

    1. Yes

      1. Thanks Byron!

        1. Yessir! Thank you!

  8. The bad weather expected in Cleveland has me questioning my Flex in standard scoring league. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

RBs: Hyde, Carson, K Johnson, or
WRs: JuJu, Kupp, M Goodwin, K Cole

    1. Prob Hyde or Kupp. Fine w/ Goodwin or JuJu as well.

      1. Thanks Byron.

Conner, burkhead, or j Williams. PPR
ju ju or Sanders PPR. Thanks!

    1. I really like burkhead this week but Conner is locked into a lot of work. I might lean Conner. Even though I think his hype has gotten a little out of hand. Juju over sanders for sure.

  10. Flex spot .5 ppr 12 man league. Peyton Barber or Hyde?

    1. I’d prob roll Hyde

    Team Name Bulldogs
    Need Advise
    My RB’s- Kamara/McCaffrey/Breida/Ingram
    WR’s- Hilton/Baldwin/Hogan/D.Thomas/Cobb
    Watkins/Miller
I have an owner offering me LevBell for McCaffrey, what do u think ?
Also another owner offering me K.Allen & R.Freeman for Kamara & D.Thomas Please Let me know if any of these trades are worth it. Standard Scoring with bonuses for Rushing & Receving yardage Thank You Nation

    1. Would not take it. I’d stick w/ CMC and roll him out this week.

Don’t hate Trade #2 in a vacuum, but it doesn’t make much sense for you since you are already stacked at WR. Losing Kamara would hurt you badly.

If I were you, I’d be attempting to trade Demaryius, Cobb, maybe even Baldwin or Hogan in the right deal. I’d find a WR needy team in your league and offer them a 2:1 that is hard for them to pass up on, where you get 1 solid player you want in return and clear a roster spot to prep for waivers.

As always thank You ! I use the Mustical Cheet Sheet Now everyone is sending me these wierd trades

  12. Only problem with drafting with the cheat sheet is all the great players on my roster and choosing who to start most weeks.
Starting QB Dalton WRs A Brown & Hogan, RBs Mixon & Collins and flex J Conner. Bench has Barkley, A Robinson ll, J Gordon, C Kupp, A Miller, and Luck it’s 1pt ppr. Anybody on the bench that you’d change ? Thanks for all the hard work you guys do.

    1. LOL, this is the problem with the sheet! 1st world problems, I guess. But yes, you always realize when the season begins, even if you have drafted a monster squad how tough the sit/start decisions still are! Man, that’s a salty roster!

Benching Barkley, lol. Ballsy! Don’t hate it. But, I’d personally prob have to roll him out over Collins, until I see for sure Collins has locked that gig up, the way we hope he has.

I would personally strongly consider ARob and Cooper Kupp this wk vs Hogan. Very tough call, like all 3. I personally trust Kupp the most of the 3, just because I know exactly what I’m getting. My money is on 2/3 Rams WR going pretty big this week, and if I had to bet on one it would be Kupp.

I totally accept the logic behind hogan, though. And, the trepidation w/ ARob until we know exactly what we have, even though it seems like a solid spot for him.

Honestly, don’t think you can really go too wrong anyway. Fortunately, that is one of the benefits of having such good bench options 🙂

      1. Thanks Byron I’ll take out Hogan for the roster son Kupp, should I pull Conner out of my flex spot for ARob.

  13. 10 man league 1 PT ppr. Need 3 of these guys ….TY, Landry, juju, Thielen, Marvin Jones.

    Thanks

    1. I like ty, juju, Jones.

      1. So should I flip a coin between Thielen and Jones jr?

  14. Mannnn I love seeing RW Nation with tough decisions bc our rosters are stacked! Let’s get it this year!!!

2 decisions Im mulling over – Pick 1 from Josh Gordon/Kerryon/Cohen/Miller in .5 ppr
Also .5ppr – Eifert or ASJ. Have Eifert in now, but think I might be leaning ASJ with the juicy matchup..thoughts??

    1. gordon, a healthy eifert has always been clutch

  15. Thank you for the HyperDFS Generator, first time using it, created 4 lineups (that is all I budgeted for this week, lol) and cant wait to see what it brings!

  16. Can’t wait for the show tonight, roster watch nation

  17. 1 pt. ppr flex question…Jordan Reed, Chris Thompson, or James White

  18. Post By sal@deeds4cash.com

    Connor or Baldwin in flex?

  19. QB question. Would you go with JimmyG or Carr (4 points per passing TD)
Could also drop Carr for Dalton. Thanks RW
