Week 14 Garbage Grab

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 14

The playoffs are at our doorstep, so as much as I’d love for you to crush some fantasy dreams with the trashiest of waiver adds this week, I sincerely hope you don’t have to resort to them. It’s a wild fantasy world though, so here are the goods….

Quarterback

Cam Newton, Panthers – 30% owned

Cam looked terrible last week, enough so to get him benched, but he’ll still start this week against a pitiful Falcons unit with a new OC to boot. Chances are the Panthers won’t try to get too fancy, and they’ll let Cam do what he does best which is improvise on his feet. His floor is high enough to start him with confidence this week.

Running Back

Alex Collins, Seahawks – 29% owned

With Adrian Peterson and Travis Homer sidelined, it leaves Collins, Rashaad Penny and DeeJay Dallas with the responsibility to carry the load against the woeful Texans this week. Collins is the best bet for touches and goal line action, so he makes for a flex with a decent floor but little upside.

Jermar Jefferson, Lions – 15% owned

Jefferson will start this week against a decent Broncos front, with both D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams out with injury. Jefferson may get pushed a bit by Godwin Igwebuike on third downs, but Jefferson should see the bulk of backfield touches in this one.

Wide Receiver

Jamison Crowder, Jets – 24% owned

Crowder is the only healthy starting WR for the Jets this week, making him the best bet to lead the team in targets. Elijah Moore looks unlikely to play, but even if he does, Crowder will have a high enough floor to make him worth flexing in PPR formats.

Laquon Treadwell, Jaguars – 1% owned

Treadwell has led the Jaguars in receiving in each of the last 2 games as the Jamal Agnew replacement for Trevor Lawrence. He’s bolstered this week by the fact that the Jaguars are facing the Titans, who have the worst secondary in football.

Jalen Guyton, Chargers – 15% owned

Guyton went for 90 yards and a score last week against Cincinnati, and that was with Keenan Allen in the game. This week, Allen will sit, as he’s on the COVID-19 list, leaving Guyton and Josh Palmer to pick up the pieces behind Mike Williams. I think Guyton is next up in line, and he should get enough targets, including deep balls, to make him fantasy relevant again in Week 14.

Tight End

Ricky Seals-Jones, Washington – 17% owned

RSJ is healthy again and in a good spot to vye for the lead in targets for Washington this week as the Logan Thomas replacement. He’s an easy plug and play against a Dallas team that bends all day.
